✨ ABOUT ME
My name is Duncan and I am a Maths Graduate in Scotland with a passion for maths and relaxation! I am an ASMR UA-camr and plan to go on to teach maths at high school level in the coming years. I am very enthusiastic about teaching and to help me improve and get practice before entering the world of work I have created this channel to help people learn about mathematics at all levels all whilst having a good night's sleep.

I barely passed geometry back in the day and was so stressed about it daily….so let’s see if this can be “fun” 😂☺️
Bet you’re great at algebra though
Hey you can’t say “back in the day” till your 60
😂 Hope you still followed along alright. It’s not too bad! (Easy for me to say maybe…)
Suggestion: Dark mode on the iPad might be easier on the eyes for the evening
Seeing a lot of people saying this! I’ll get it turned on don’t worry 😊
I loved maths at school and combine that with ASMR is brilliant. Thanks Dido for this video. Going back to maths after 3 years is refreshing
Thank you so much for watching. So glad you could rekindle some math passion 😊
this was super fun to watch! honestly enjoyed it a lot more than the differentiation tasks since this task is a lot more interesting and fun (especially to think about the question myself while listening to how you approached it). would be cool if you could do more of these fun geometry problems in the future!
This is such a unique channel , love the idea of maths ASMR, subscribed!
Love the sounds cant wait fir this channel to grow
I love ASMR, have been watching it since 2018 helps me fall asleep. I've always been horrible at math ever since grade school, i failed geometry the first time I took it. Taking it again now, barely passing. This channel is a gold mine because not only am I relaxing and drifting off to sleep but getting better at math. 💤
This channel deserves a lot more viewers
😊
Loved this one! I'd like to see you solve a really hard sudoku with twisted rules, if that's your cup of tea if course, this would knock me off immediately haha
The best I can do is root2 rn. If you assume the centre of the circle is at the centre of that quarter (which it should be if it’s touching the circle like that but idk) then you can define the radius as the edge of the square to the centre of the circle (and if that centre is in the middle of the quarter) you can then make a right angle triangle with that as the hypotenuse and the 2 other sides both as 1 (half of the 2s) and then you can use Pythagoreans theorem to get root 2. Can’t wait to watch and see if I’m right lol (probably not as I’m making a semi assumption)
Edit: he immediately called me out lol
Edit 2: That was such a fun solution
i’m not sure if i’ve ever put ‘fun’ and ‘geometry’ in the same sentence. but i loved this video, it was quality
Very cool problem. It was satisfying to watch you walk through the solution :)
Wrt to different presentation styles, maybe you could do some videos with that nice Numberphile-style brown paper? I always liked the sounds of the marker on that paper and you could get some nice crinkly sounds too
Yeah! I would love to see that too
I could definitely try some sharpie on paper kind of style! I’ll look into it
Thank you so much for these videos!
not a big fan of math, but it was actually fun to solve this with you. love your content, by the way!
great video dido! I would really reccomend using dark theme though
Hey, loving these videos so far! Super cool stuff! You should try turning the screen onto dark mode, I feel like it would make it easier to look at for sleep. Keep up the good work!
I’ll try experiment with some darker paper maybe. Think that could work?
@@ASMRMaths Yes, that would be perfect! Can't wait for the next vid!
If possible can you do algebra 2 math like multiplying radicands or dividing etc love the video btw!
hi dido! for the final answer do you need to rationalize the denominator or can you just leave it like that?
Hey, I would love a video on statistics. Kinda struggling in uni with this topic lol
Very relaxing Duncan, maths not of my favourite subjects but you're good in it and to do asmr 🙃
Hey, it can’t be for everyone but I appreciate the kind words!
@@ASMRMaths yeah,i listen to you anyway (i do plus lessons with my teacher)🥱
I would never use the words “geometry” and “fun” in the same sentence but this was super relaxing.
Man forgot this account😢 doesn’t upload for 2 weeks
I had a similar geometry problem in grade7 💀 anyway a super tingly video
What app did you use dido?
I have a question how do we know that the centre of the circle is on the squares diagonal
hey dido, a good recommendation is a paper feel screen protector
I did maths A Level and whilst I wasn't all that good, this video really makes me miss it and its logic
Interessant
très
Second to comment love you work have not even watched it yet but keep up the good work never disappoints ❤
Relaxing
What app do u use ?
please do algebra. ive got a final tuesday
Geometry was my absolute favorite class in high school! I haven’t had a proper math class in a few years so I’m not sure how much it paid off but geometry will always have a special spot in my heart. Awesome video btw :)
Maths is everywhere fr
Such a great idea for a derivative channel (pun intended)
The fact that I can't donate under this video makes me unhappy
😂😂 You don’t need to! Thanks for commenting, that makes me just as happy
Is it a good or bad thing if you fall asleep his class
hey dido! great video as always (:
Hey, thanks!
More tapping sound when you are writing on tablet
acho q faltou racionalizar
Nice
Come on Dido, not rationalising your denominator?!
Just kidding, great vid 👍
Gosh how dare I. I’ll admit defeat on this one Mxrcxry 😅😅

Something ain’t right about putting the word fun in the same sentence as „Problem“ and „geometry“..
I think „traumatic“ or „nerve - wrecking“ would be a better fit 🥰🥰🥰
god
Sounds a bit too “clicky” on the mic on this video
The radius is 1.17157287525, in case someone wants the full result
Nice 😂
Why didn’t you rationalise😫
Rationalizing sucks, change my mind!
