The 1 models have solid top but layered back and sides, made in China. The 3 series are all solid wood but made in China. The 5 series are like the 3, but made in Yamaha’s custom shop in Japan.

I have 2 sets of strings, the Savarez 520R High Tension and the Thomastik-Infeld PJ116 John Pearse Folk, which one is better and nicer on the Yamaha?
