Thank you so much for watching! Here is the Project Plans for this Dining Table: www.woodbrew.tv/store/p/diy-modern-dining-table-plans
This was perfect as a vanity desk for me. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxMAlHv7-BBWMrPRm5-uEoD6rtdT7SG2Qr Especially the glossy finish. Easy to cleanI was looking for something that wasn't the traditional white and with more of a modern feel. This fit the bill beautifully. I put it together with no problems, by myself in under an hour.Make sure you double check where you place the drawer tracks before screwing down. I had one track that needed to be aligned with different holes than the rest.
This is a valuable addition to my woodwork collection ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxkNYRBJuiJ6EwD-tQSAlxg0eFKsnR2cgz I still will rate this woodwork plan as the best in my reference library. It always seem to stand out from the rest whenever you go through the library. This is a masterpiece.
Vision, Determination, Perseverance...
Ya’ll are doin’ it right!
Awesome to see our next generation in woodworking!!!!
Yes indeed!
Guys, loved this video! The threaded inserts to attach the legs look SUPER clean and professional. That pine is going to age so well! Also, the ad integration was useful and helpful to the viewer - that’s the way to do it!
So glad you liked everything!!
WOW, simple but elegant - it will stand the test of time. Teamwork makes the dream work.
Sure does! Haha thank you!
Y'all have a knack for keeping things simple while making it look complete. Very nice
Thank you so much!
Great simple build that looks so nice. I really like the threaded inserts so you can easily take it apart for moving.
Thank you! We love this table!
Great looking table thoroughly enjoyed watching the build 👌👍
Such a beautiful young passionate couple with a common interest.. this is hard to find these days and glad you found each other
So in love. You guys killed it!
Ahh thank you Rachel!! 🙃
Excellent design and video as always. Great to see young people accomplishing great things.
i noticed the end grain on the joined boards for the table are matching paterns on some of the boards. not like it matters now and the end grain needs to be mismatched in order have opposing tention when the boards shift with the seasons for warping over time.
Wow. Just, wow. By far the best DIY table I've seen on YT. And there are a lot. This design is so sleek and gorgeous. I love it! And I feel like I could totally do this myself. Cheers!
Thank yo so so much!! So happy you like it!
this turned out so pretty and elegant!! If only I had half of your tools to make it myself 😳
This table looks amazing. I love that you've used pine. I feel like it's an under appreciated wood. Great job guys
Yes! Thank you so much
no, there's a reason why pros don't use pine...it's softwood that dents super easy.
Hola Chicos. Me emociona ver como hacen trabajos tan bonitos y bien hechos. Siendo unas personas tan jóvenes que a diferencia de los demás chicos de hoy no saben ni apretar un tornillo. Felicidades un abraso.
¡Muchas gracias!
Wow superb modern looking and sturdy table 😍
I like the simplicity. You guys have come a long way and I admire that you put yourself out there, this is something I still struggle with. I would recommend metal bases instead of the pine bases, same design. Too much force or weight in one direction and the base will fail. I've seen it happen. Table could also rack in the future with too much force if you don't provide any reinforcement. I work in QA for a major furniture retailer and I see all the design flaws. Love the content and hope you guys for years to come. I don't see a lot of wood workers our age, so it's a nice change.
Awesome video editing and very informative. Two thumbs up.
your projects are simple cheap easy and awesome
Very savvy design! The details and simplicity+elegance. (And love your team flow; working seamlessly together and having fun is very admirable)
Thank you so much!!
nice to find a vid with simple and smart table legs. exactly what i was looking for. thank you!
So glad it was helpful!
I'm amazed by how you guys make beautiful and simple designs. I'm just starting on with a project to build the furniture of my house and you guys made a lot easier for me to try it out.
You can do it!!
Great design, I like the modern look of it. You could make the holes on the table legs under the top bigger, so it wont split because of wood movement. Nice looking table anw
Fun video. You guys are a good team. Thanks for sharing.
Helpful tip: if you can attach your shop vac to your orbital sander it will help tremendously with the dust. If the port on your sander is a little too small, wrap it with some electrical tape to better fit the shop vac.
Thanks!
Gorgeous 😍so minimalistic and elegant
Glad you like it!
Simple but very nice design. I love it! Well done.
Thank you!!!
welcome back from your vacation! Glad to see you're back with the videos
Woo hoo!!
I don't think that this can call DIY. No one has tools like you guys at home.
Great project, super design and elegant results
Thank you ! ❤️
Hey lot of you Haters made comments aBout the lack of professionalism. For young Adults you guys are doing great. Good project for Anyone. Add a diagonal brace for more strength.
Nice looking dining table Dylan & Molly Thank you for sharing the video.👌👍😎JP
Turned out awesome guys!
I like it . Simple but very nice wood work.
Excellent design
Thank you!
ustedes 2 son adorables gracias por compartirnos sus habilidades
i love the organization. those gear ties will make shop life simple.
Game changer!
Does this table wobble much? It’s gorgeous I just want to know how solid it stays. Great job guys!
Rounding the corner would be perfect. Just a suggestion. Thank you.
Nice, clean and easy to make! Congrats!
Glad you liked it!
Awesome idea to use bolts to attach the legs. I wanted to make a nice wood table with folding legs. I think I'll go with detachable legs instead. How sturdy is the table?
Pretty sturdy! If you feel the need, you can brace the two bases with a stretcher board connecting them :)
The threaded inserts are a good idea.
❤️❤️
I love your video editing and filming techniques!! We have a lot to learn from you!
Simple and beautiful. Can be a desk as well.
Absolutely!
Beautiful table, great video. Just curious why you trace the wood pieces and not add a stop block for repeat cuts. Stop block is 100% guaranteed to make identical cuts and saves so much time.
As someone wanting to dive into woodworking, I love tribal knowledge like this.
Great work, but I am surprised no one has pointed out some obvious problems (in my quick browsing of the comments.) First, the top will likely split if you don't give enough room for it to expand where it's attached to the board underneath across grain. Second, those screws are not going to hold the joint on the legs for long, especially when it's gone into end grain. Third, this table will be quite vulnerable to racking. A few bolts into pine might not hold. The first problem is just aesthetic. But the second and the third present serious safety issues. I would not feel comfortable using this table with any guests, in case it collapses at the most inopportune moment. This unfortunately is not a good table design...
@Dakota Velazquez cross brace would be one way.
@Dakota Velazquez and use other joining methods than screwing into end-grain.
@Dakota Velazquez mortise and tenons or floating tenons would be a great choice. These joints are traditionally used in tables or chairs to withstand serious stress and keep integrity for years.
Spot on, probably it is not that no one has pointed out this, rather the youtube comment system simply sucks and buries critical "feel hurting" comments (most important for noobs actually) like yours. I had to go through 100s of useless fanboy "nice video well done etc" type of comments before finding your "review by expert" one, which should be at the top actually. Thanks for your comment.
So simple design.
Agreed:) Thanks!
Simple and sleek, I like the look great job guys.
Glad you like it because we really do 🙃🙃🙃
Invest $20 in a decent paint brush for your finished. It will save you a ton of time over the 2" foam disposable brush. If you're just using poly it will wash out in the sink with water.
Beautiful, modern and elegant! Thanks for sharing this easy to understand step by step video! Great job! :)
Looks good and it's simple. One minor thing, I'd have drilled in a bit to inset the bolts. Also probably needs some support lengthwise. A small apron close to the legs might fix that.
❤️❤️
And what happens when the table top decides to expand and contract when acclimating to seasonal weather changes. The threaded inserts are great however, you need to allow for movement by elongating the holes in the base cauls that the bolts are going through.
Can you explain this another way to a noob? What do you mean by "elongating the holes in the base cauls that the bolts are going through."?
@@boltup5566 wood will expand and shrink based across the wood grain, and nearly none with the grain, so as this happens, you can make more of a slot than a round hole to take this into account and allow for the movement. If not you could see some cracks begin to form as the top tries to expand and is held in place by the stronger long grain
The Victorian London accent at 1:00 was spot on.
Hahaha
Very nice simple design
Nice team work
A friend from Sudan
I think I can actually make this. LOL. Thank you!
Yay! So happy you like it!
This thing gonna warp like no other
It’s been inside for a week and no signs of warping👍🏻 Also the lumber was inside for 2 weeks before we used it.
y
Rout grooves for a steel c-channel to be installed on the underside towards both ends. But again you need elongated slots in the c-channel to allow for movement.
@Maxima There are 2 problems, 1. I don't know in what climate the table will live, but one should account for seasonal expansion and contraction of the top. 2. Natural tendency of the timber of bow/cup isn't accounted for. This can done by means of breadboard ends or other methods.
True story, especially using pine from big box stores, the moisture content just isn’t suitable for quality furniture making.
OMG CONGRATS 👏👏👏👏👏❤️
Just one note - I would prefer the bolts to be hidden in a hole drilled with a forstner bit. Other than that, a really simple but very good looking table, it was a pleasure to watch. Thanks!
Yea you could totally sink those bolts in more! Thanks for watching :)
Hey guys, how did you find the stability of the table with this design? Did it have much movement etc? Cheers!
Weldone guys
Beautiful
Thank you!
beautiful design and implementation
just curious after a year, is the table top sagging a little? I'm planning to make apron-less table soon and trying to assess the possible solutions.
Good design. what’s the base plate used for sliding circular saw with ease??
I love the simple, modern lines of this build. But watch out for the wood movement in the table top. It looks like you have about 8 inches or so between your two outside bolts. Pine will move 1/16-1/8" over that distance if you live in a four-season climate.
What type of wood do you guys use, and how expensive is it? The sides look so clean cut and not rounded like normal lumber at the retail stores.
Great looking table design guys ! Nicely done.
Thanks!!
The table was very nice
Thank you!
This is amazing!! Great work and thanks for sharing 👏🏼👍
Hey guys. Does the table shake at all? I’m debating on whether I should go with the metal or wood legs.
Kool and simple. Nice work.💪
Appreciate it!
You are putting together an awesome apartment. Great video and project.
Thank you!❤️
Digging the Chip & Joanna shirt. Great work on this table BTW, and I will probably make one just like this for the house. Thanks again, and subbed.
Awesome!! :)
I liked your video guys. You had fun while doing it and I felt the same watching it.
Good, informative video, beautiful table, and nice with a little banter as well
Thank ya :)
Amei....genial essa dupla!!! Parabéns
No accounting for wood movement on joining leg structure to tabletop?
My god you two are so young and you so professional. Great job Thanks
Thank you so much!
Great job!
Thanks!
You guys are so inspiring. Love your work!

Very well organized and team work . thank you for sharing 👍
Thank you so much 👍
Great job as usual👍
how dd you cover the screws on the leg? plugs?
it's a very nice project, and that pine is awsome.... I see no knots on it
Thank you! We used finish head screws and filled in the holes with wood filler!
Absolutely amazing job Guys well done 👍🏼
May I have measurements please?
Regards
Fred
Awesome, great job :D Starting my own dining table today :D
Have fun!
Simple belleza. Thanks from México
Thank you! Cheers!
Clean and simple
Heck yea :)
Hi! Can I use your plans for a 5x5 square table? Where would I put the legs so that it is stable enough?
Do you know how much weight can it hold? Is it stable enough if someone sits in the middle of the table?
Great work! Nice
Thanks a lot!
Looks great. I would maybe counter sunk the bolts so you don’t see the heads sticking out but otherwise looks great
You honestly can never even tell they are there! It's great, but totally understand
Hey guys. Beautiful build! Just curious, did you not plane or join this at all? Thanks :)
Perfect minimal dining table :)
Glad you like it!!
Hey guys.. the legs are tapered (wider at top and narrower at bottom).. did you sand the edges of top and bottom horizontal pieces; so that the sides fit? If so, how did you measure how much to sand and the angle? Thanks..
Love the look of the table, how stable is it across the length with no cross bracing?
Good question , I was wondering the same
The short answer is, it depends. Some people have had issues and others have not. I think it primarily comes down to what screws were used, if wood glue was used, and the level of traffic the table receives.
like the idea, but i would have beveled to top at the same angles as the legs
David Ewers Photography that a great idea,
What are those puck type things you are sealing with under the table legs?
