Scott not moving a muscle when the .950 failed to fire was one of the coolest things I have ever seen.
Just thinking about how much of us casuals have recoil anticipation with just a 9mm, and then watching this only to go "Bruh..."

I appreciate how Scott is always a pro when handling the firearms and ammo. He'll goof around with every other prop, but once he touches a gun, he's nothing but pro. He sets a great example.

That JDJ is a purpose built weapon for those occasions when you're out on a turkey hunt and you find yourself being charged by an angry stegosaurus.
These team ups are so fun. Gav nonchalantly walking way after the table toss was the icing on the cake.

I appreciate (1) Dan being game to shoot these, (2) actually doing well with the recoil mitigation, and (3) the fact he has his eyes complete shut and entire face scrunched up.
He was a weapons/explosives expert in the British Army, and has shot multiple .50 cals in videos before. Kinda odd how nervous he seemed about it lol.
@@verakoo6187 To be fair when you are familiar with a rifle round and what it does and then someone gives you that as a pistol it is a bit of a new game.
Still better than Steven Segal can do.

@@DinnerForkTongue I've noticed it recently. Dan doesn't look "buff", but the dude is strong as an ox. Seriously, the dude is built SOLID. He's the soft spoken guy that can fold anyone in half that everyone underestimates. He's way stronger and more solid than he looks for sure

I love how Scott just can’t contain his laughter at the sheer ridiculousness of shooting these large rifles. It makes the video so much more enjoyable to watch.
Largest i've shot is my 45-120 using black powder. Using a recoil calculator it has roughly the same recoil out of a 12-13lbs rifle as a 50bmg has out of a 30lbs rifle. It does the same thing to me, every time i pull the trigger i just smile and laugh. It's a gun i had built. It's a dream rifle for me something completely impractical but always wanted.

And they're good actors, and doing exaggerated acting is easy enough, so adding those together makes it so that this worked reeeeally well
@@eloryosnak4100 It could be that heavy. But you're probably right and they are hamming it up for the bit because they come to the idea of that comedic team hammer swing pretty quickly and its right in line with Gav's sense of humor.
But that much wood on the end of a lever, its really hard to gauge its weight from visuals alone. There's a lot of factors that effect that and it could weight an absolute ton, or be pretty light for its size.
@@LordZaayl I'm not saying its not potentially extremely heavy, but Kentucky isn't some 400 pound sumo wrestler. He's big and strong, but he's not hefting around something heavy enough for Gavin to be genuinely incapable of holding up

That outro with them destroying the table in the background and then Gavin throwing it was probably the best outro on the channel thus far! It was so good it almost felt scripted with how hilarious and well paced it was! Those guys know how to bring the funny!
One of the things I love so much about this channel. Isn't even all the amazing rifles and pistols. It's how much fun Scott is having shooting them. I'm having fun just watching him having fun. Call it funception.
Totally. I've not shot as much as a .22 and I have both learned a lot and been entertained by Scott & Demo Matt for years even though I have literally no practical experience in this specific subject matter.
Alright Dan! What a champ. I feel like Scott is the kind of guy that challenges you more the more he likes you. He definitely seems like he has never met a stranger before but it seems like he likes Dan.

This was a great video. I’ve always been told by the guys at our club to shoot a heavier bullet to keep the gun barrel from moving up and causing me to hit high on the targets. Watching this I see that the projectile is long gone before the gun barrel even moves from the recoil. Thanks to the slow motion guys for this.
I've already had lots of respect for Dan, but after watching him shoot that 4 bore, my respect absolutely sky rocketed😂

3:20 Love the straight on (offset) shots, really shows how accurate guns like this can still be. The recoil doesn’t happen until well after the shot leaves frame.

Seriously love when these two collaborate! I have been watching the Slow Mo guys for years, and when they first came on to Scott's channel I stayed! Super cool footage, but Gavin and Dan trying to pick up the table smashing mallet has to be one of my favorite things! Scott makes it look so easy!

Seeing how the gas from the .500 bush blew back down the other chambers towards his face, I don’t blame him for wearing the face shield at all. Blastback is no joke, especially with revolvers, since they tend to scrape some lead off the bullet as it enters the barrel. What a great video.
