The drivers, vehicles - tires, lift, underbody protection - & shared community of friends; & then the stunning landscapes & wondrous nature - granite, trees, water, lakes - makes for a most memorable outing into the wilds. Your video effort, outstanding
I enjoyed the walkthrough of the trail at the end. We see people driving over those obstacles all day long, but it's cool to see people walking through it.
There's a great hike from Meeks bay to Rubicon pass. It's a string of alpine lakes up to the pass with a great view of the Sierras - sooo much granite. And you can see the Velma lakes down below. A great place to camp after the 20 mile hike. From there you hike 3-4 miles over to Emerald bay if you want to go home, or you can continue up to Lake Aloha, about 8K feet up. From there you can go to etc. etc. :)
😃😃 You went swimming(the 1st time).where I normally camp at Buck. 👍👍. Glad to see y'all really taking it all in. Excited to see what y'all think about Rubicon Springs in future episodes.
So, I grew up only 1.5 hours from Loon Lake and still only live about 2.5 hours from Loon. We run the trail 1-3 times every year. 39-42 inch tires, blah, blah, blah. I would not be able to hang with your pace. HAHAHA! HOWEVER, for someone who this MIGHT be their only time on the Rubicon, you are doing it the right way. Taking your time to fully take in the BEAUTY that is our Sierra Nevadas and the Rubicon. I was chuckling that you took one day to go from camped at Buck Island, to not even Martini Tree. BUT, you were taking in EVERYTHING that is the Rubicon. Look forward to you next video and the trip through Rubicon Spring and up to Lookout Point!!!
Awesome comment. We were really slow, but we also took a ton of time to let everyone else drive through. Part of the fun (which I show in the next episode) is just watching the other rigs drive the obstacles. It’s like being at an off-road show. But you’re right that we kind of nerded out with each part of the trail.
This was bucket list for me. It was a mix between enjoy our time and make sure to get out before it gets busy. I was a nervous wreck while living a dream!!!
@@Venture2Roam Very true about watching. Many times we would stop at little sluice for a time just to watch the other rigs go through on busy days. Then take a dip in Spider lake which is just a few hundred yards up the hill from the sluice box. Good times. Great video!
Well, when you’re turtle like your buddy in the Jeep tutor usually a high lift jack is all you need sometimes a highlift Jack and a couple of traction boards.
Incredible video and looks like an awesome trip! Been thinking of coming out from MA in my Rubi X next year for my 50th BDay. Any chance you could share more details on planning for your trip? What co did you go through for the guide? Itinerary? Did you ship vehicles out or are you local? Thanks again for sharing the video!
Yes - I'm taking this series and combining it into a movie. The movie will show much more of our preparations, gear choices, etc. That movie will likely be published in Jan/Feb - just so there is some space between the series.
You cant tell in the video but I was with Dirt Nation in the Raptor while Will and Chris were winching. I thought they were right behind me and I was too busy being a fan boy of @dirtnation while they spotted me. Will and Chris didnt get to see Dirt Nation because they blew out before Will and Chris caught up
I really didn’t think that was a bathroom sign…it was far from any outhouse. Would love if someone else confirmed this. Happy to be wrong, but I’m not convinced yet.

Thank you so much! Final Episode comes out this weekend!
This moves to the top of the bucket list

Walking it was way different than driving it the next day.
@@RevereOverland I found that something that’s easy on foot, can be a real bear in a rig.
That drone shot around 7:00 was money!
I probably should have played for more than like 2 secs lol.
Nothing like waking up and wheeling within 100ft! That's what the Rubicon gives you. You have to be on your game at all times.
So true!
Loved that camp spot. 392 looked like it was handling the trail good.
The 392 on 38s with that lift and the skids underneath did really well...even though on the next episode get's hammered around a bit.
I’m loving this series. That’s an awesome trail and I can’t wait till one day do it.
Thanks Matt!
Looks like a fun day and spending a few nights at Buck is never a bad idea. Glad you guys got to enjoy it!
That camp site was so nice. Worth cutting the day short
Love to see you guys decided to take it easy and enjoy being on vacation!
Thank you. I'm so glad we took an early day. The next day was awesome...but really long.

That would be a fantastic place to camp
Good video 👍 👍😃

I was thinking the same thing.😅 But yeah, they drove down from Idaho why not take it all in. 😀😃

Morning 👋
Morning!
What a great trip! I want to see it done with a stick shift, old school
That would be fun. We saw lots of manuals on the trail. I could always tell because they were stalking out a lot lol.

Dang thought there would be a dirt nation shoutout. They gave you one on their rubicon video.
When I saw them we weren’t recording.

What winch mount is the Braptor using? I have a white Braptor also and I am looking at mounts now.
RC Highmount with ADD Frame Stiffeners. Lance says he really likes it.
@@Venture2Roam Cool! Did winch make contact with any rocks on Rubicon? What other upgrades does my Braptor need before I tackle the Rubicon?
Is there a fine line between masochism and challenge?
Clearly. And the Rubicon blurred me that line for me.
Ladies and men signs on the rubicon indicate a stopping point in which to use the bathroom. Men on one side of the trail and women on the other.
I really didn’t think that was a bathroom sign…it was far from any outhouse. Would love if someone else confirmed this. Happy to be wrong, but I’m not convinced yet.
@@Venture2Roam haha. Yeah, I heard jeep mamma talking about it on the jeep talk show. So just hear say.
@@Venture2Roam They were talking about group event etiquette and since women are always right women should go in the right side of the trail.
What size tires is Chris on?
He and Lance are both in 37 BFG KO2s
chemical beats??? u have great taste in tunes!
Thanks!
I lichen this video! See what I did there? Dad joke to go with the dad bod!
Don’t forget to lichen and subscribe.
@@Venture2Roam no.
Alright. Yes.

You lost me at about seven minutes when the soundtrack kicked in
Ya taste in music is very subjective.
Way to ruin the ladies vs men joke 😑
