ElitePWNSFace Man, I used to watch him all the time and than I didn't had WoW for like 7 months and when I finally did and searched for his videos I was pretty sadened to see that he had passed away.
I just knew this guy today, the day we learned that he passed away. He did the full guide to get the hidden artifact appearance even before Legion came out. May you rest in peace.
I have a Corrupted Ashbringer from old Naxxramas in vanilla. I always found the voices from it so spooky but i never knew an event as epic as that would happen if you went to Scarlet Monastery.
@@jarh2007 We all miss him i bet he's exploring all of the wonders there's up in heaven and that one day we all gets to meet him and maybe even get his autograph ^^
Blizzard literally took every piece of his video and made that the secret way of getting the "Corrupted Rememberance" skin in Legion. Rest well, my friend.
you are literally the best youtuber ever! i love all of your videos and youre doing exactly those things that I don't manage to, all those "how it really looks" etc.! and even this video is fantastic!!! Stay strong man! Wish you the best!
the main reason i can see for why the ashbringer's story's death with us being a bad this is in the fact that it is just given to us. it meant so much more when we had to work for it, and when it's story was a mystery.
I really enjoyed this video man. Makes me sad that I don't have the Corrupted one doe. Please do more of these kind of videos, if that's possible of course :D
+Seppuku Gaming thanks! I have a few ideas on other videos like this. It was quite a challenge but I loved making it. So there will most likely be more coming :)
I really miss this channel, I know Hayven would've loved seeing how things are going in WoW especially with Classic and Warcraft 3 coming out. Rest in Peace Hayven Games
I never wanted to be the Ashbringer. Never, never. It's just too special and has too rich of a history to just give it away. The very thought of it just depresses me. And you may say it's just a game, or it's just a story, but it's a good story. Good stories mean something more.
Nice video, I followed Ashbringer closely in WoW. One detail you missed was possible identity of Mograine's son in Outland. David Wayne in Terokkar Forest had left the Alliance Expedition for "something larger" and is a skilled smith with some smithing/reforging quests in Shadowmoon Valley. Narain Soothfancy also mentions Ashbringer, with similarly uninteresting results. The site ashbringer com had some good info on the blade. Ashbringer may just be one of the biggest disappointments in WoW for me. The Ashbringer...
Holy crap those whispers gave me shiver! Also it would be soooooo much cooler if the new legendaries they've put into Legion would have to be found trough these kind of clues. I love your vids, keep it up!
I've watched your videos on legendary items lost to history and I have to say, these videos are so damn good. Not only do they show us the way the game used to be mysterious and rewarded high skill, patience, and exploration, but it's so impressive how you've pulled together all the footage from the game and its history. Sooooo well done!
The thought of Ashbringer back in mid vanilla was a huge deal. There were websites dedicated to discussing clues about obtaining the weapon. I remember fishing at a certain time of day, at a certain place in the Plaguelands and such. All rumours and speculation. This was before datamining basically revealed everything about the game, and sites like MMO-Champion, so it was all mysterious and exciting.
This video was super well-done. I literally chased around all of those in-game stories on my paladin, back when the lore was rich, mysterious, and compelling. My one regret was not realising Naxx 40 would be removed in Wrath.
at the time I was leveling my pally to run it but I never got around to leveling him to 80 before the new release of cata same thing in vanilla when I started a bit late I was just a noob... Wtf was boa gear? I regret not rushing thru to 60 asap but instead finding new locations and exploring xD
I've been playing WoW for more than one year now, but I hardly checked any youtube videos. Recently I found from another channel that I followed mentioned that one of our friend has passed away. I didn't really care until I actually came to find his channel today. Omg, so many interesting contents. The lore that I don't have time to follow, playing guide, etc, etc. that allow us to enjoy WoW in addition to daily quest, dungeon, and raid. Even there are many updates from Legion that only half a year since its release. So sad. Apparently we did really lose one great mind of our community. So sad checking his update about his health problem from videos and comments and the last goodbye video is really devastating. May he rest in peace
Thank you for this video. I was someone who visited the old Ashbringer website back in the day that helped to track all the odd theories about the weapon. It kind of gave me chills to experience all of those old theories again because I honestly spend a lot of time fishing and a lot of time in Dire Maul as well just in the hope that something big would happen.
All the old rumors on how to get the ashbringers in vanilla is how you currently get the hidden artifact appearance. Nice touch blizzard. Get the two nat pagel books, get the head from Nef, talk to the guy in Diremaul, Get the shard from a slime, talk to a lich, fish for a crystal and get the hidden skin. I LOVE IT
Absolutely loved this video! Having come this far on the journey through WOW, (I have played since 2005 Vanilla, I find myself wanting to recall all of amazing lore and in-game secrets and gossip that fueled us to keep searching for rare and new items.... and items like the Ashbringer (back in the day) kept us all talking!
Great video! You should do more of these types of videos of items that players have long searched for and ramblings from NPCs that could hint or lead to potential items or "in-game lore." That is one thing I have always enjoyed; the lore of the game. I loved how they transitioned from WarCraft III to WoW. Everything has evolved and changed, sometimes leading to nothing, as you pointed out, but it is still interesting.
I wouldn't go back to the vanilla days, but one thing I do miss about that era was the mystery of things. There were countless rumours going around in all aspects of the game.
So _this_ is the "new feature" you were talking about... Neat! I've always found the in-game history of the Ashbringer fascinating, myself. It's been so wrought with mystery and confusion, false leads, teases, and a number of other things throughout the years... I was really saddened when _Wrath of the Lich King_ came out and Corrupted Ashbringer was removed and put in the hands of Fordring, then kind of insulted by the artifact system in _Legion_. Still, it's fascinating how far we've come and how we got here...
during vanilla i had a discussion with a guildie that told me he had a friend that managed to get the Ashbringer in game. He told me that this player collected all the fishing plus items from the fishing competition in stranglethorn. This means the pole, boots, hat, and fishing line. He then proceeded to use the highest level fishing lure with all this gear and fished within Alterac Valley. This guildie told me that it took his friend about a week straight of fishing to get the Ashbringer, but he swore that he saw the blade with his own eyes. Now i tried to find out if anyone ever really got the weapon in game, but i never found any real evidence of it, however it didn't stop me from trying. The sad thing was that i had managed to win the fishing competition and get all the gear to start fishing only about a month after they removed the ability to fish within Alterac. Still pisses me off to this day.
This is why I'm excited for nost to come back. Not only do I have the time to do so, but I want to experience those tough vanilla times with naxx. I joined at the very end of vanilla, without really knowing about any of this because I was just a kid
I discovered this channel in the wake of the Nostalrius shutdown and I must say you do a really great job in providing interesting and fun information. The nostalgia and feels your videos bring is just awesome! Looking at this reminds me how much I miss the old wow. Keep up the great work!! :D
Thank you very much for this video! You replied to ALL my questions about the Ashbringer "purified" after Naxx and in TBC ! You did it very clearly, Good Job and thanks again!
You forgot just one part in BC. It was highly rumored that the other son was actually in Terokkar Forest. "David Wayne" was the closest person to being his son who strongly hints at being the son and has very similar traits. He forge weapons looked the same and spoke about being destined for something big. He had quests but nothing to do with the Ashbringer.
I loved this video, and how it went about explaining the history of what player went thru in expansions past. I think this is really a unique idea that works well.
I love how Blizzard helped to feed and respond to the community rumors surrounding this very important peice of lore. It helped to grow the fame of the Ashbringer and in a way lifted up to myth like status. I am kind of sad that it's eventual introduction to the game does not live up to the decade long crusade to find this sword. One can only hope in future expansions there will be clues to the location of the True Ashbringer.
This is soo sad that the mystery has gone with the expansions...I love all that urban legend from WoW and you are the greatest person to do show us :) Thank you
This was a really good video, I never played in Vanilla , I started in burning so I missed out on all this ashbringer stuff.I do love that most about the game though how something like a mystery in the ashbringer, is hinted and hunted throughout the game.makes WoW feel very alive and such a mystery, however now though everything is not so much a secret, it's all very modern and in Legion everyone will be getting this weapon that was once legend.I really want a corrupted ashbringer on my deathknight though that would be the dream!
Wow! Really, REALLY high quality on the video and lots of information i've never even heard about! Great voice and great way of talking to the audience. Also excellent work on the music, it really makes it so much more enjoyable. You just earned yourself a new subscriber! Keep up the great content!
As anyone seen the quest "Good and Evil" ? In the database it's in Stratholme and for 2 rare fish you get the ashbringer. Quest 6202 in wowhead, hope to see that in Classic
Keep going this road man with the Warcraft videos and you'll reach the top! Of all others Warcraft youtubers you have the most different approach, in a really good way I mean. Your videos are a pleasure to watch, although I really prefer the ones in which you talk because it drags you into the video better! Get well mate!
Great summary. I can't quite decide whether Blizz were just having some good-natured fun, or tormenting the loyal fans who keep them employed :p Only one tiny, unimportant bit left out. The player (at least Ally-side) gets to retrieve the Ashbringer for the Argent Crusade, but for us, it is just a white-quality quest item called 'sacred artefact' or somesuch. I always though it should at least have orange text on it for the few minutes we get to carry it.
It's a quest in the very start of Howling Fjord for Alliance; here's a link to the quest's version of the Ashbringer: wow.gamepedia.com/Sacred_Artifact
The transmog glitch no longer works with the new 7.0.3 transmog system. How it worked before: Go into a dungeon with someone *on a different server*, find a 2hander drop, mog it, then trade it. The different server was key to the glitch. It no longer works now because the item must be equipped to be transmogged, and by equipping it, forces the item to be bound to the character hence untradable.
I really liked this video. I particularly liked the way that you talked about the subject from the standpoint of game mechanics and the players rather than lore. ... Not that i'm averse to lore videos or anything; I just think there are plenty of them, whereas this was ... different. I'm excited to see what videos your channel will release in the future!
This is honestly why Ashbringer is the best weapon in-game. The great thing about it being an Artifact weapon is that, for all those years Players spent fishing, connecting clues, datamining and freaking out over the existence of this blade, finally we will get out just reward. Every single Paladin will be able to wield this weapon of unfathomable power and fame. It's just amazing. If games like Fnaf and Undertale have taught us anything, it only takes a few strings of code to spark rumors, controversy and a huge mystery that would last for many years.
+Nekrotix every single paladin having it makes it worthless and no one gives a shit anymore. They ruined the story/legend of the ashbringer. Before no one could get it so give it to everyone...makes zero sense. Blizz is making so many questionable decisions lately.
What about all the warriors who've held on to their corrupted Ashbringers, waiting for the promised day when they could gain the reforged one. Fuck those guys, here's some BS weapon we made up just for you 5 seconds ago. Have a good one.
I'm really sad they gave us the Ashbringer. It killed it's story imo, I liked it better while it was this unreachable, distant thing, something worshipped and feared and longed after by many players. Anyways, I loved the video, I hope you'll make more of these about other items, places or characters, when you can :)
I have to admit I'd like a quest at the end of Legion where we 'loss' our weapon lore wise. since some speculation suggests the Ashbringer's crystal could be a dormant Naaru it might be cool to sacrifice the blade but rebirth a new Naaru who could enpower the Paladins class order in a battle or something. Just something befitting each weapon not just at the end of the expansion they break etc
This was a good video! I would love a similar video about the Scythe of Elune, or similar weapons with alot of ingame "lore". You seem to have a thing for that kind of stuff. Keep it up!
rest in peace buddy, i wish i found your content earlier
i feel the same! i just wish i had found him earlier. Rest in Peace.
Me too! videos are great! RIP.

Here I am again watching all his videos after he passed away
I'm sad
Just a 9gager seriously? is he gone?
Yeah he died like 2 weeks ago
he died 18 of march
:( damn... y just found this video...
With a lot of people coming back to WoW, they should just call this sword the Cashbringer.
*r e l e v a n t*
with wow classic release and our guild has gotten 1 drop. i can confirm this statement......
I just knew this guy today, the day we learned that he passed away. He did the full guide to get the hidden artifact appearance even before Legion came out. May you rest in peace.

Did you get it in TBC on a Draenei Warrior?
The corrupted ashbringer for the ashbringer is a secret quest that you can do which hits every single point in this video
I just watched a nobbel video about it

I still come and watch these videos to calm me down after a stressful day. Thanks for everything Hayven.
The "i come from a land down under" quote is a reference to the classic Australian song 'Down under' by men at work. Not just randomly rambling haha.

+Nekrotix every single paladin having it makes it worthless and no one gives a shit anymore. They ruined the story/legend of the ashbringer. Before no one could get it so give it to everyone...makes zero sense. Blizz is making so many questionable decisions lately.
atleast you understand
old devs are dead, quit, fired, transfered to other games
that is why wow is different
What about all the warriors who've held on to their corrupted Ashbringers, waiting for the promised day when they could gain the reforged one. Fuck those guys, here's some BS weapon we made up just for you 5 seconds ago. Have a good one.
Awesome Video!Thank You so Much. Wishing You The Best!
R.I.P Hayven.
Such production, such quality!! Keep those videos coming. I like the new series i am sure there are tones of items or lore stuff that you can create!!
I'm really sad they gave us the Ashbringer. It killed it's story imo, I liked it better while it was this unreachable, distant thing, something worshipped and feared and longed after by many players. Anyways, I loved the video, I hope you'll make more of these about other items, places or characters, when you can :)
Thank you so much for this, may you rest in peace..
Just something befitting each weapon not just at the end of the expansion they break etc
i got my ASHBRINGER tonight dude in classic wow. on my ret pally too. wish you could see it. miss ur vids

This was a good video! I would love a similar video about the Scythe of Elune, or similar weapons with alot of ingame "lore". You seem to have a thing for that kind of stuff. Keep it up!
Oh wow I love that Down Under quote lol never saw that dialogue on him
