    Thank you for the inspiration how to approach layering. I'm still super intimidated by this as I'm "just" doing slapchop with speedpaint.

      No problem, we're glad you liked it! I'm no expert myself, but I think it's fun to try out different techniques. There's definitely nothing wrong with slap chop 👍 just have fun with your hobby!

      You can try doing a bit of layering on top of your slapchop to improve the colour gradations. That's what I'm planning to do after watching this video 😊

      @@thetabletopskirmisher that's a great idea 👍 the slap chop will provide a rough guide for highlights and shadows that you can improve upon with a bit of layering!

      @@thetabletopskirmisher yeah you mean first dry brush / zenithal highlight, then layering?

    excellent stuff! Could a glaze layer at the end have pulled the colors together more? Just to make the transition smoother?

    • @KabinMiniatures
      @KabinMiniatures  2 місяці тому

      Yes, indeed! A filter over the whole thing at the end (quick), or just glazing each colour on more gradually (slow), would likely have made the transitions more smooth 👍

    Another video how to do layering for a competition piece would be a great follow up video.

      Thanks for the idea! I don't really see myself as a competition level painter, but it's always good to challenge yourself and try to improve, and maybe making a layering video like that would be a good push 👍

      Thank you so much! The colours I used are shown in our Slaangor video (ua-cam.com/video/nzsMxHP0tWw/v-deo.htmlsi=XRrJbotxQsssh83c) around 4.40. For the Bullgor horns, I applied each layer in thin lines, since it is a flat surface.

      Hello, I tried translating your comment and I hope that I understood it in the right way. Yes, the machine for mixing paint was given to me as a birthday gift by my sister-in-law. I tried to focus on just one technique in this video, but maybe it should have been longer? Or two separate videos? Thanks for the feedback!
