@Gregbot9000 That is a good trick, too 👍 A benefit of your method is that it works on pretty much any material. Sprue goo is quite nice on plastic, though

@athan336 To add a darker shade and hence more definition to the recesses. The next two Contrast layers are lighter and more diluted, which neans that the Nuln Oil is still visible beneath and adds depth.

@AwesomeDr111 For this, I used an assortment of fine grit (800 to 2500). I don't think you need coarser than that for this application since the surface isn't that rough to begin with.

@supercededman Thanks! I think that could work, as long as the items are made from a similar type of plastic 👍 I'd try it on a small sample first, if possible.

@CowboyWHU Cheers, mateIt's a bit hard to tell on these, but I took out the human miniatures from the other expansion to this board game, and they are 35 mm from the top of the base to their eyeline. For comparison, Blair-Thing is 55 mm to the top of the "monster jaw" while Norris-Thing is 36 mm to the eyeline of the head on the extended neck.

I haven't tried it, but I think it could probably work. Just make sure to be very thorough with cleaning directly afterwards, as Milliput sticks really well on most surfaces and becomes very hard... I don't know of a solvent that could take care of that, and it could potentially ruin an expensive airbrush.

@jaredellis2754 That would probably look cool! When I painted these, I was trying to simulate the surface starting to solidify, while the areas closer to the core were still molten.

@phizi7844 You could absolutely use normal acrylic paints on the sand 👍 pigments can add a bit of realism to a base, because they are so matt and "dry" and they can provide a natural gradient on top of what you painted/applied to the base.

@KabinMiniatures thank you very much for the quick response:) since the miniatures are so small and I am not that into miniature painting I think I will go with normal paint instead. But the Video was super helpful especially for getting confident to paint something with such a small scale

@phizi7844 So glad you enjoyed it! You should definitely try painting them 👍 don't put a ton of pressure on yourself, just try and have fun and be creative. Even if you end up not being 100% satisfied, remember it's your first attempt and I'm sure your painted version will be preferable to the unpainted!

@craigstidham3318 I always remove the mould lines from plastic models, too, including these ones, as I showed in a previous video. But in my opinion it's quicker to remove mould lines on plastics with a knife, and these models had very faint lines that disappeared almost instantly. That being said, there are metal models that I think look fantastic! When I started in the hobby, the majority of my collection was metal.

@@KabinMiniatures thanks😎. I’ll never discount one’s preference. I assembled and painted a lot of GW plastic Skaven! The first box sets had so many options and at first I was gun-ho! But having ranks of 6, and unit size of 25, 30…40! Positioning all those tails, arms and shields…woof! Not mention how hard it was to paint underneath those hard to reach places! I swore off plastic after that 4000 point army! All my Bolt Action and Napoleononics armies are only metal.
