Both my wrists were like that until I snapped my right wrist in half when I was 11. It healed and looks “normal” and people always ask what I did to my left wrist and then tell me to break the left one so I’m even.

I've always just told people that it means I'm the chosen one, when they ask "Why is that bump on your wrist so big?!" because mine has always been bigger than everyone else's. I just have really knobby bones, not pain or discomfort associated with it. My knees and elbows are crazy too.
I also have it ever since I was a kid. I train bodyweight excercise and have never had any problem with my wrist. The video said it's better to not have it but I can't really find any science report about it. I guess it's not good if you never have it and then it appears after injury; otherwise no worry.
I am checking out your kombucha mentioned in notes. I have been drinking for decades. But most in America, jumped on the corporate consumerism train, more about money, mass production, then actually helping heal. I will connect on instagram. I do my best stay away from social media. I’m in OC Calif
I was born with this and never knew that it was a problem, as it's not really that extreme. I wonder how bad it really is though and how much of my body is like this since I have hypermobility.
Damn i just noticed that my left wrist have a more prominent lollipop than my right hand. No wonder my left wrist hurts all the time. I'll try this excercise daily and see how it helps
Lately I've been paying attention to my hands more, and joints/ligaments in my fingers and have discovered a lot. Any type of exercise or whatever change I make to my hands, I do it to only my left to compare the affects. I never really thought of the lollipop thing as the cause of a loose ligament but I've been strengthening my tendons and doing wrist rotations for a bit and it sticks out significantly less than my right hand.
I thought this was because I had small frame, I hope mine is fixable because this always make wristwatch sits crooked, at an angle, or both on my wrist. Integrated bracelet made a comeback and the fitting on my wrist just drives me nuts..so I'll give it a go starting today.
Had a bike accident 4 months, microfractured the ulnar bone on the wrist and had ligament damage as well, I couldn't do supination ever since and now the ulnar bone is bulging out of my injured wrist which has been a source of concern for me, hopefully your tips will let me heal and go back to normal, cheers man!
haha we are in the exact same situation. bike accident was 1 year ago. my bone is still sticking out like a goddamn white splotch of paint on a black surface.

Huh... always thought it was odd how my dominant hands wrist had this, but my left hand doesn't. Maybe I injured it? I can already think of a good few times I did something stupid that really hurt for a long while afterwards that might have stretched the ligaments in my right wrist.
you're doing gods work thank you my knees are feeling better each day. Please make a video for triceps tendonitis that is the only injury which is not healing. Pain felt after pushing exercises and worse after triceps training. Thanks in advance.
I broke my left wrist in a football game long ago and right one by burpee jump (guess due to weak left wrist), now I need to keep pushing my wrist towards my pinkie to reset the wrist, I think your workout's gonna help!
@@physioevangelist glad you appreciate this niche sport 🤣 yes I've been doing competitive armwrestling for 2 years now, it's very taxing for the joints and tendons 🥲 the body parts that gets injured the most are the wrist, elbow, and shoulder, so videos from physical therapist are very valuable to us 🤣
my hand doesn't go up when I push it though, it also doesn't stick out from the side. plus it's always been like that in both sides. Like I can make it slightly smaller if I press my hands flat on a table but it's still way bigger then when you push it up.
Didn’t know this was a problem…but my gains have been hindered by lack of wrist strength for years, and I could tell from my experience with muscle imbalances in other parts of my body that an imbalance was a contributing factor. A search for wrist strengthening resulted in my finding this video and I don’t think it’s a coincidence that I do have lollipop wrists and one set of his suggested exercises killed my forearms.
Can you do a video on De queverians testinovitosis/ Mom's thumb pain I've been suffering from this for the past 8 months. Doc's have said surgery is the only solution. Do you have any tips that would help me manage the pain?
Dude, after researching DRUJ Subluxation I found that f it's chronic, surgery may generally be required. If it's acute, a cast is generally used for around 6 weeks. I have this I think. I wish it was fixable through exercise but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be. If you have fixed yours and it is now straight, can you make a follow up video?
I know this video is kinda old but can you do the strengthening exercise as two seperate exercises? Like can you just do wrist extensions and ulnar deviations seperately or does it have to be this two in one movement?
Very Interesting, I have exactly the same thing, but mine caused some pain if I perform some kind of exercise such as normal Push Up ( usually the pain comes the day after, and will last for around 3 days or so ), after few year suffering these kind of perform, the doctor suggested MRI , and the result is the doctor say exactly the same thing you said, and i was told not to perform certain kind of exercise or perform it in different way , such Push Up but with my fist instead of my palm, and never perform lifting a something vertically such as a pole or heavy tripod and stop play badminton :( After following the doctor suggestion, I have no longer experience pain on my wrist, I really want to fix it hopefully the exercise you recommend can fix it permanently for me, but I am quite afraid because the first move you suggest require me to twist my palm in a way that I have stopped doing ( since the doctor told me to stop doing push up with my palm ) I will update to you the result of doing your exercise 🤔
I have had this on my right wrist for years, I know ive looked it up before years ago but didn't find anything and ive never had any pain from it. It makes popping noises occasionally. Im glad I found this though ill try to fix it
I had a fall and hurt my wrist as I landed on my palm. Loud clacking noise when i pronate or supinated, other range of motions only mildy affected. Here is the best part I tried to push up wrist bone as per video, saw the lollipop go down and instantly gotten some relief and pressure/pain in the wrist and the clacking noise is gone. I did that a few times and notice this is causing the clacking noise (both ways as its goes down, up when i released it) I I understand this is due to be manually pushing both parts together so the tendon/ligament got a "break" from holding it in its current position am i understanding this correcting? any suggestions to help it best recover? was thinking of holding up the wrrist bone as much as i can , but i cant do it 24/7. Thank you so much and so glad i found this video!
Hey! Nope, it was painful because your joint was "misaligned/ subluxed" probably. So when u pushed, it fell back in place. This can only happen when the ligaments are loose. Some might dispute and say that bones don't go misaligned, especially not the druj, but debatable
@@physioevangelist hey thanks for replying. After much reading, i gathered it likely a ecu sublux or a tfcc tear I did tape it up in the first week but the adhesive of rigid tapes were so strong that they tore off abit of my skin when changing em, and caused some irriation so i gave up the pain slowly went away in week 2 and 3 as restarted working out, avoiding exercises that requires some supination ( dumbell curls, pull ups etc) all this while i regain the supination back to around 90% levels with just mild pain despite the heavy exercise levels i doing daily. Now in week 4, the pain is not really noticeable unless i tried to supinate all the way, i think my supination/pronation recovered till 95%, there is still a occasional clacking during normal movements, and when i intentionally supinate my wrist / push up my wrist bone ( only very mild pain occasionally) At this point after 4 weeks, i pretty recovered most ROM for daily motions, ie washing face, washing my butt cheeks ( real pain in the ass in the first week), flinging water off hands etc. But still dont feel strong when doing heavy dumbell curls I think im recovering well, albeit im no giving it as much rest as i should as im back working out intensively (just avoiding exercises requriring supination/pronation And I always made sure i fully warm up the wrist and stretching and rotating all round b4 working out or if i feel the strain coming in Guess i gotta give it a bit more time for the final 5% to recover? thank you so much!
Went to the radiologist and they diagnosed me with something called ulnolunate impaction syndrome. But the same bone sticks out for me. Will this work? They only treatment options they gave me were conservative use, steroidal shots or wrist reconstruction surgery
also it turns out gaming for 4-12 hours a day for 2 years can also fix it and improve grip strength, I can compare my right hand and left. My left hand has been pressing all of its fingers one by one on the keyboard quickly and in awkward positions really fast and with alot of force moving across the keyboard and stretching. My right hand just sits there and clicks, it moves really fast with precision but doesn't work out the wrist, fingers, or forearms much. My left hand does not have lollipop wrist and my right hand does. My left hand's grip strength is twice as strong as my right. My left hand is faster than my right. My right hand is way more precise than my left. My left hand cannot make quick precise movements down to the milimeter, my right can. There are pros and cons of this but it is probably nowhere near as good as proper training. Just something interesting I noticed.

I've always just told people that it means I'm the chosen one, when they ask "Why is that bump on your wrist so big?!" because mine has always been bigger than everyone else's. I just have really knobby bones, not pain or discomfort associated with it. My knees and elbows are crazy too.
Same here, when this popped up I was like, wait, this is a problem? Good to know Im good, just have weird bones is all
I also have it ever since I was a kid. I train bodyweight excercise and have never had any problem with my wrist.
The video said it's better to not have it but I can't really find any science report about it. I guess it's not good if you never have it and then it appears after injury; otherwise no worry.
@@MrHoangShock It's called madelungs deformity appearantly
I never knew anyone else had this. Thought it was a bone spur. Thank you.
I am checking out your kombucha mentioned in notes. I have been drinking for decades. But most in America, jumped on the corporate consumerism train, more about money, mass production, then actually helping heal. I will connect on instagram. I do my best stay away from social media. I’m in OC Calif
WOW bro didn't know this just thought that's how my arm was been like that since birth...never had a injury or anything..but love the video bro!
I was born with this and never knew that it was a problem, as it's not really that extreme. I wonder how bad it really is though and how much of my body is like this since I have hypermobility.
Note to uploader: 6-8 weeks is not the same as 5 minutes.
Great video, enjoyed the ach post at 1:10 especially.
Im actually glad that its not because im too skiny, but because of a ligament
Damn i just noticed that my left wrist have a more prominent lollipop than my right hand. No wonder my left wrist hurts all the time. I'll try this excercise daily and see how it helps
Watched this a year ago i had it bad
Trained forearms weekly
its fixed
Lately I've been paying attention to my hands more, and joints/ligaments in my fingers and have discovered a lot. Any type of exercise or whatever change I make to my hands, I do it to only my left to compare the affects. I never really thought of the lollipop thing as the cause of a loose ligament but I've been strengthening my tendons and doing wrist rotations for a bit and it sticks out significantly less than my right hand.
has it worked out in the end for you?
I thought this was because I had small frame, I hope mine is fixable because this always make wristwatch sits crooked, at an angle, or both on my wrist. Integrated bracelet made a comeback and the fitting on my wrist just drives me nuts..so I'll give it a go starting today.
Does playing a stringed intrument make this better? Probably, right?
Im 13 and my wrists are small compared to ppl my age what causes this?
Broke the radius a year ago now the ulna sticks out, have pain along outer part of hand & up arm & very little strength in hand/wrist.
@@OvercookedSteak Recently started going to the gym again, pulling exercices are easy to make and I can pull the same weight as I could basically pre-injury, but pushing exercices are simply still too painful
@@funnyv6048 ahh, i see. for me, i can push and pull wait easily, its just certain movements with my palms facing upwards that sometimes hurt a litttle bit
@@OvercookedSteak Me too its like the push ups and the benchpress where my wrist is in a werid position
@@funnyv6048 same, it feels like my wrist has a hole in it or something
I had a wrist injury and i couldnt use my hand for 6 months. After that, i had a lollipop wrist. Very useful video
Huh... always thought it was odd how my dominant hands wrist had this, but my left hand doesn't. Maybe I injured it? I can already think of a good few times I did something stupid that really hurt for a long while afterwards that might have stretched the ligaments in my right wrist.
Thank you that was very helpful but if you can fix it then why do you still have it ??
謝謝!
you're doing gods work thank you my knees are feeling better each day. Please make a video for triceps tendonitis that is the only injury which is not healing. Pain felt after pushing exercises and worse after triceps training. Thanks in advance.
Yeap, tricep tendinopathy. Apply the same concepts from the knee video! Feel free to message me on insta. But thank you for the encouragement!
you should make your own show with foreign women. Would love to that unironically. This show is obviously not that
This is EXACTLY what I need RIGHT NOW. Thank you so much.
My local shitty doctor tell me that there’s no way to fix this..
Man, I've had this all my life, even when I was a pro-athlete I didn't even know this was a problem.
I broke my left wrist in a football game long ago and right one by burpee jump (guess due to weak left wrist), now I need to keep pushing my wrist towards my pinkie to reset the wrist, I think your workout's gonna help!
great video as always man! please make more video explaining wrist injuries since I got em all the time from armwrestling 😅
Ha! Arm wrestlers are amazing. Do u do it competitively?
@@physioevangelist glad you appreciate this niche sport 🤣 yes I've been doing competitive armwrestling for 2 years now, it's very taxing for the joints and tendons 🥲 the body parts that gets injured the most are the wrist, elbow, and shoulder, so videos from physical therapist are very valuable to us 🤣
I had this my entire life and while clicking on this video i realised that I don’t have it anymore lmao
my hand doesn't go up when I push it though, it also doesn't stick out from the side. plus it's always been like that in both sides.
I don’t want to fix it, but rather I want it. My wrist bone doesn’t protrude like that so is there a way I can get a lollipop wrist?
Can you do a video on De queverians testinovitosis/ Mom's thumb pain
I've been suffering from this for the past 8 months. Doc's have said surgery is the only solution. Do you have any tips that would help me manage the pain?
Great video. I wish you can tell me why my joint disappeared aftet a distal radius fracture
I’ve the same diagnosis from orthopaedic and did a closed reduction for my isolated DRUJ subluxation. 3rd week on my splint now.
Thanks lot for the video. May I ask which camera are you using to film? I would really appreciate the response.
No worries! Glad you liked it. I use a canon 70D with a 50mm lens 1.4
I know this video is kinda old but can you do the strengthening exercise as two seperate exercises? Like can you just do wrist extensions and ulnar deviations seperately or does it have to be this two in one movement?
My wrists have always had these bumps but they’re not as bad as yours. What’s so bad about these? I’ve never had issues with my hands or arms?
Omg I never know that this is an issue,, because everytime I see this, I always amaze how beautiful it is.. hmm am I that weird? 😂
What a TERRIFIC video! Thank you SO MUCH!
This was great ! Do you have a video for ankle bones that stick out sideways ?
Very Interesting, I have exactly the same thing, but mine caused some pain if I perform some kind of exercise such as normal Push Up ( usually the pain comes the day after, and will last for around 3 days or so ), after few year suffering these kind of perform, the doctor suggested MRI , and the result is the doctor say exactly the same thing you said, and i was told not to perform certain kind of exercise or perform it in different way , such Push Up but with my fist instead of my palm, and never perform lifting a something vertically such as a pole or heavy tripod and stop play badminton :(
After following the doctor suggestion, I have no longer experience pain on my wrist, I really want to fix it hopefully the exercise you recommend can fix it permanently for me, but I am quite afraid because the first move you suggest require me to twist my palm in a way that I have stopped doing ( since the doctor told me to stop doing push up with my palm )
I will update to you the result of doing your exercise 🤔
how did it go
You r the best thanks for helping me 💓💓💓💓
No, you're the best! You're welcome
I did that a few times and notice this is causing the clacking noise (both ways as its goes down, up when i released it)
I I understand this is due to be manually pushing both parts together so the tendon/ligament got a "break" from holding it in its current position am i understanding this correcting? any suggestions to help it best recover? was thinking of holding up the wrrist bone as much as i can , but i cant do it 24/7. Thank you so much and so glad i found this video!
becos im in a "injured" state now, should i leave it drooping down in recovery state? or is that anything i can do ?
Bro had ur injury recoverd?
Hey! Nope, it was painful because your joint was "misaligned/ subluxed" probably. So when u pushed, it fell back in place. This can only happen when the ligaments are loose. Some might dispute and say that bones don't go misaligned, especially not the druj, but debatable
U can try taping or shockwave therapy. Otherwise use the pronator quadratus and flexor pollicis Longus to stabilise the wrist
@@physioevangelist hey thanks for replying. After much reading, i gathered it likely a ecu sublux or a tfcc tear
I did tape it up in the first week but the adhesive of rigid tapes were so strong that they tore off abit of my skin when changing em, and caused some irriation so i gave up
the pain slowly went away in week 2 and 3 as restarted working out, avoiding exercises that requires some supination ( dumbell curls, pull ups etc) all this while i regain the supination back to around 90% levels with just mild pain despite the heavy exercise levels i doing daily.
Now in week 4, the pain is not really noticeable unless i tried to supinate all the way, i think my supination/pronation recovered till 95%, there is still a occasional clacking during normal movements, and when i intentionally supinate my wrist / push up my wrist bone ( only very mild pain occasionally)
At this point after 4 weeks, i pretty recovered most ROM for daily motions, ie washing face, washing my butt cheeks ( real pain in the ass in the first week), flinging water off hands etc. But still dont feel strong when doing heavy dumbell curls
I think im recovering well, albeit im no giving it as much rest as i should as im back working out intensively (just avoiding exercises requriring supination/pronation
And I always made sure i fully warm up the wrist and stretching and rotating all round b4 working out or if i feel the strain coming in
Guess i gotta give it a bit more time for the final 5% to recover?
thank you so much!
Went to the radiologist and they diagnosed me with something called ulnolunate impaction syndrome. But the same bone sticks out for me. Will this work? They only treatment options they gave me were conservative use, steroidal shots or wrist reconstruction surgery
Yea! Try these exercises. You can also use a wrist brace initially.
Is this something to worry?
3:40 I have a TFCC injury and I would die if I did that exercise
so how long did he know about this in relation to his wrist issue
also it turns out gaming for 4-12 hours a day for 2 years can also fix it and improve grip strength, I can compare my right hand and left.
Yes , I used to do arm wrestling during my school days, however one day one of my classfellow in class 10 told me that I should quit arm wrestling as "You are constantly damaging your wrist" ... So I thought about it and quit arm wrestling sice then, ..
I like arm wrestling very much and after that I was focusing on my wrist, I tried Manny exercises to strengthen my wrist, however they were not much of a help for me ,as I was still not good for arm wrestling...
I do have a large lolipop head on my wrist... And I hope your insight and the exercises in matter will be helpful...
Once I am good , I will update you later...
In Sha Allah
I'm guessing it didn't help
@@user-iq5iu2tt2h sorry for late reply...
It doesn't work that well however the very basic problem of weak wrist is solved by it...
So I guess it's still beneficial... To try these exercises , I would totally recommend it, also try more harder exercise as well in the later stages...
The lolipop head problem is not resolved completely however some what reduced below the danger level...
Thank you
Well done. Concise. Thank you.
Why would i want to fix this?
