- Could you fit without the 4.5mm spacer? What else could you put in to fill the gap.
If you have a cassette that you don’t need, take it out and look for the cogs. Find the right thickness, 4.5mm is what you are looking for.
The 11t cog is 5.5mm and the 13t cog is 4mm.
The 11t cog won’t work, It won’t slide onto the hub because the splines are not fully open, it would stay at the top of the hub.
So let’s use the 13t cog (4mm).
It fits perfectly, everything is sturdy, there's no play between the cogs and you could barely see it.

Good info and well put together, only thing is some people are upgrading from 5/6 speed freewheel's so with a longer freehub we worry about the length between the rear edge to edge, and if the wheel will fit.
Wow!! What a brilliant idea!
Technically anything you add would be considered a spacer, but I can see how this could help in a pinch. It would be cheaper to just add a proper spacer. Lighter aswell
How would it be cheaper if I have to go and buy proper spacers instead of using old sprockets that are going into trash anyway.
What size of spacers i need if i have a 2 speed cogset on a 4 speed hub?
Thank you very much
Do I only need a 4.5mm spacer for a 7 speed cogs on a 10 speed hub?
Yes, that’s correct.
Okay. Then what about a 12 speed hub? what total spacer thickness do I need? 🤔
Id like to attach a noisy 12 speeds hub with only 7 speed cog. I got another bike project. It's a folding bike with a 60t chainring
Boss okay na ba yun 4mm na spacer sa 12-32 7 speed cogs sa 10 speed hub? Sana mapansin salamat!
I'm planning to use a customized cassette 15-32t ratio, will there be an issue if I don't use the 11t as the last cog as it has those notches that the lockring latches into during tightening. Thanks
Yes, it should work.
@@DanyoSports will there be no issues? I fear that the lockring may loosen without the notches on the 11t cog. Thanks
I think it’s going to hold up fine, try it.
Thanks. Looks like your cassette is bent?
No, the cassette isn’t bent.
ehehe, well the extra Cog is a spacer in this situation >P
What size of spacer i need if i have 9 speed 11-50t cassette on a cassette 10 speed hub?
You don’t need a spacer for that.
What size of spacer i need if i have 8 speed hub and 10 speed hud
What size of the spacer i need if i have a 7 speed freewheel and 8 speed hub
You need 4.5mm spacer to fit 7-speed cassette on 8-speed hub.
i have an extra 700c road bike with its own hub, would this fit this 7 speed cassette? are mtb hub and road bike hub the same in size and fitment? my hybrid has a 7 speed free wheel hub on a 700c wheel... i want to ask if my other road bike wheel and its hub be compatible with the video you made? i want to convert it to a better hybrid bike. thanks
Spacer size 5mm its okey? or use 13t?
It should fit fine with the 5mm.
Do you still use a 7 speed bike and why
I upgraded it to 10-speed cassette, I would keep it 7-speed if I didn’t have to change the crankset.
My 8speed moves alot
And i think i need spacer? For it?
If there's a play between the cassette and lockring, you would need a spacer to fill the gap.
@@DanyoSports the smallest cog doesn't move but the rest does. Imma get it check. Thanks.
Cool
i want to buy vision team 30 but i have claris set can you help me please
How many speeds does your cassette have?
@@DanyoSports i have eight
I have a 7-speed cassette i want on a 9speed hub
