Padme Captures Nute Gunray [4K HDR] - Star Wars: The Phantom Menace
Вставка
- Опубліковано 27 сер 2024
- A trimmed down version showcasing Padme and Captain Panaka leading the charge at Theed Palace to capture Nute Gunray in one single long sequence.
A 4K HDR sample from my Extended Star Wars Episode I Cut, simply titled "The Phantom Menace - Extended Edition". As of today, both cuts have now been updated to a new 2.0 version, featuring several minor tweaks in audio, updates to the HDR color timing (especially for Episode I), tweaks to transitions, and brand new A.I. upscales of many of the deleted scenes. A total of 7 deleted scenes have been restored in the film.
Both of my Extended Episode I and II cuts are available in both 4K HDR and 1080p SDR, along with my other edits like the 4.5 hour Revenge of the Sith - The Siege of Mandaore Supercut the, Star Wars Episode IV - The Rogue Cut, and many more!

"This one's a decoy!"
And there you have the entire reason for why the Handmaidens exist.
And the opening to aotc
Padme was smart to surrender to the droids, knowing that they would take her to the Viceroy, giving Sabe, her decoy, time for her team to storm the throne room, distract the Viceroy, lure his droids away, giving Padme time to retrieve the hidden blasters, take out the Viceroy’s guards and surround him.
It’s a good strategy, making the Viceroy think that he won, only to be baited with Sabe and then realize he was dealing with the real Queen Padme Amidala.
1:10 And because of this scene almost every Lego Game had the grapple mechanic.
The board game as well.
Padme: Take Him Away!
2:29 - I love how Nute and Rune look at each other like, " What...what just happened?!? Did we just lose?"
No wonder Nute hated Padme and wanted her dead, and it was that grudge that indirectly led to the clone army's discovery.
Rune!! I never knew that other one's name! ThankYou!
@@MaximilianoAedo - Nute was always more of an act first and think about the consequences later kind of Neimoidian. I wish we would have got to see more of him in The Clone Wars cartoon - particularly when he dropped his feud with Padme and started butting heads with Grievous. Oh well.
After queen of the Naboo would say: your occupation has ended. 2:04
@@CBright7831yeah right.

Never woulda noticed that

Nice recovery
After reading the Queen’s Shadow trilogy, I know it was Pananka’s idea to put the compartment with the blasters into the throne. And his idea turned out to come in handy
Just the ones like Panaka I agree
I believe she’s canonically 14 here or something like that too. Padme’s awesome.
14 to 15 years old
@@chaysethepurplewolf2060 Ditto. And she was elected queen. It’s Naboo culture. I find it interesting actually
@@teleportedbreadfor3days she was manipulated into being elected
Weird Al confirms she's 14
Actually, she was 18
2:23 There's just something about that shot of Padme busting up two droids with a handgun that makes the little kid in me scream. A 14-year old Queen who takes names and leads her people, and with one of the coolest character designs. She's so cool. ❤
2:18 In fairness, wise move that there are spare blasters inside the Queen's throne. I wonder how Nute Gunray did not see it when he occupied it briefly during the invasion.
My guess, It was placed in a number of carefully hidden secret compartments within the Queen's room that only she and her handmaidens know about.
Sheer arrogance and incompetence, essentially.
Most of time. He sat down in his moving throne, or standing and not looking around the palace.
The Naboo are generally regarded as pacifistic. It's a miracle their security forces are allowed blasters let alone armed starfighters. It never would've occurred to Gunray and Haako that the Queen would have blasters kept in a hidden compartment on her throne nor that she was willing to use them when all options run out.
there is actually acouple chapters in the book "The Queen's Peril" about hiding two guns in the throne room. One of Padme's handmaidens Eirtae who was an engineer hid it in.
2:15 Just realized a droid got tripped by the fallen droid.
lol i just saw that too! That was a nice touch by the animators.
>cmd: move fwd + engage hostile
>rspns: tripped, cant move fwd
>end_routine
0:52 straight gangsta mode
1:10 And here we see the birth of what would strangley become a core mechanic of Lego Star Wars.
The Naboo prefer peace over war. They'll absolutely give you war if you want it though.
Yesss
That reminds me of the one tv spot that aired back when the movie came out. You heard the queens voice saying, “there are things I cannot do, I cannot watch while people suffer, I cannot sit when something must be done, there are things I cannot do, but there are certainly things I will do.” And at the last part of the quote they showed a snippet of footage of the naboo fighting
Just like Alderaan
So like Mother like Daughter
@@Batou3Two VERY like minded people. Alderaan just happens to be in a much more populated section of the galaxy.
“Viceroy, your occupation has ended!”- Queen Amidala. Oh I loved this short line!
That's not the Queen. That's the decoy Sabe.
@@LisaSpringfield I knew Padme would be Queen but sometimes the movie still confuses me when I watch it
It was Sabé, Padmé's decoy and doppelgänger.
Nute's line "After her! This one's a decoy!" while pointing to Padme as the decoy was quite foolish if you ask me. They mistook the handmaiden Sabe as the real queen quite well. It took me some time to realize this.
@@abhinavbhargava978 it did take me time like why did Portman’s voice change in the second half of the movie?
Half of those guys were just ordinary street cops.
Just goes to how how incompetent the B1 droids are. Even before TCW flanderized them into even bigger bumbling idiots.
Korrekt. The Naboo only had a basic, peace-keeping force of public security and a ceremonial Royal Guard.
I love the sound Padmé's blaster makes. I have no clue why they neglected to use it in any Lego Star Wars games after the first one
I swear The Phantom Menace is best paired with the 1st book of the Queen Series. It fills in all the gaps. Loved it.
Smart idea to have another decoy so that they would think that you are the decoy.
Amazing how Keira Knightly and Natalie Portman looked so alike.
It’s the ending of this movie that goes hard as fuck for me. At least in terms of the Palace raid & the Maul duel.
The invasion of Naboo and Darth Maul going to Tatooine too. The droids were a real threat and not comedic relief like future material portay them which is a big mistake
@@arachnomech88you sure?
“Halt.”
“I’m ambassador to the supreme chancellor, I’m taking these people to Coruscant.”
“Where are you taking them?”
“… to Coruscant.”
@@thegoodgeneral that was 1 moment. In the final battle you can see the droids overwhelming the gungans and giving a good fight to the Naboo royal guards despite beign in equal numbers
@@arachnomech88To correct both of you. The droids are portrayed as not very good fighters and bad shots and are very defenseless against a Jedi. At the same time their sheer numbers can overwhelm people very easily as we saw with the Gungan Army and the Arena Fight on Geonosis.
@@arachnomech88 So they can beat an equal sized army that's using traditional cavalry and catapults while they're using tanks and massed rank fire-arms, and they can beat a small underequipped security force....
dude, the Droids were always a joke.
Wow. . .who would have thought Padme and her bodyguards would train to have such amazing hand strength.
Always loved the Naboo blaster sound
Saw the 25th anniversary of this movie in theaters. So iconic to see it in theaters especially since I was to young to see it in 1999. Will never forget seeing the movie in theaters with my mom who is also a huge Star Wars fan
Awesome sequence. So underappreciated.
The hallway is my favorite gunfight in all star wars
I love the contrast Padme's blaster has compared to the others. Woahe! Woahe! 🔫
Yeah, they got fancy blasters
This is quite an intense combat on blasters. I also liked the design of blaster pistol that Captain Panaka has.
After seeing this on the big screen for the first time since the original release, I feel like if A New Hope was inspired by samurai movies and westerns, then The Phantom Menace was probably inspired by Errol Flynn and swashbuckling types of movies. The Phantom Menace always felt like a very romantic swashbuckling movie about virtuous queens and noble knights being sent to protect her and so on. This is why ppl were so disappointed in Episode I, because it wasn’t like what came before but fans didn’t understand that this was an entirely new kind of story that is meant to take place prior to what you see in the original trilogy.
Did the grapple moment thousands on times in the Lego Complete Saga.
Also in most of the Lego Games ever since
Padme is such a badass. ❤️
Yep, and she did it without making all the men around her look incompetent. Captain Panaka is 🔥
@@TraceguyRuneToo bad he eventually ended up an Imperial bootlicker
She’s her daughter’s mother alright!
1:58 Nute Gunray’s actor is also Ki Adi Mundi
say what you want about that movie, criticize the cgi, the politic's-scenes, etc. but we all can agree that the sound design in this movie was perfect
No we can all agree the entire movie was perfect and those who hate on Jar Jar and Anakin are pricks.
This was the best CGI in the late 1990s and the early 2000s
The CGI aged gracefully in these films. Especially TPM and ROTS
I love it when they all run and the French horn goes DODODODOODODODODO 0:34

No wonder Anakin fell for her and the tought of losing her drove him mad she is awesome.
0:32-1:05 My favorite gunfight in all of Star Wars.
Can we all just admit that the prequel trilogy is awesome? Has enough time passed?
It's orders of magnitude past the drek they're shoveling onto us these days.
I honestly prefer it over the original trilogy. Purists/Nostalgists will whine about it, but the prequel trilogy is a lot more cohesive.
1:35 Of course… there are *MORE* !
"We don't have time for this, Captain."

Padme busted a nute.
unfortunately 10 years later Gunray got his old job back despite his arrest, shows the decay and the corruption of the Republic
And the machinations of the Sith
And still bearing a grudge against Padme after all that time.
Battle droids using cover? Never seen that before
There once was a time when they were smarter
Before the dark times. Before the clone wars
@@Batou3 Cheaper to program them to just march forward and not take cover.
It would appear padme was familiar with aggressive negotiations after all, referring to episode 2, anakin
@ 1:00 that's Ray Park in the center dressed as one of the Naboo guards. He plays Darth Maul in the movie.
Man, I want to live on Naboo.
You'd have to live with Gungans though. And the Palpatine family are not nice neighbors.
Regardless of the rest of this movie, the Naboo blaster sounds are some of the most distinct Star Wars sounds since the TIE fighter sounds
You wonder how she managed to have such a kickass voice and accent in this movie... And then loses them in the next 2 movies
lol fake deep voice... remember elizabeth holmes?
Puberty voice haha.
Sabé’s actress was capable of doing the deep, dramatic voice, but Natalie’s was more calmer.
Yeah it's very much that she was queen in episode 1 and only a senator in episodes 2 and 3. The queens (and honestly probably kings, I'm not sure) of Naboo are trained to speak in that voice, it's the same one Sabe uses as her decoy, all throughout episode 1. The handmaids and decoys are all deliberately chosen to have similar voices and faces as the monarch so they can switch effortlessly. That artificial voice is part of the decoy process. As of episode 2 and definitely by 3, Padme has no reason to use her "queen voice" so she just talks normally, the same way she does in this movie on Tatooine.
The accent was only for Queen Amidala. She wasn't Queen anymore in the next two movies.
1:23 alwyas bugged me it was the incorrect weapon sound. That blaster sound is the Silver one with the thin barrel, not the one with the scope on,
She probably switched it to buck shot to break the glass 😂
@@Coulddietoday15 XD I've always thought I wonder if blasters could be like amped up or down to change the "round" type. But regardless, wrong sound bugs me so much!
I love her hair style on this scenes
I don’t care what anyone says. TPM is awesome. A bit unpolished and in need of an editor? Yes. But it gets a lot right.
I also don't understand why so many dislike it. The only thing I'm not fond of is Jar Jar and that's because they made him too much of a comic relief character.
@@Caitlin1928 After a cool start there's a looooot of downtime, especially when they go to Tatooine, before things get interesting again. No I didn't like the whole thing about the podrace. It felt like a whole other movie superimposed on the plot of the actual movie. Which is not to say that I hate it or anything. It was the first SW movie I saw, in theaters no less, and I've always been fond of it. But I can see its flaws...
Can we talk about how even before the invasion the 14 -year-old girl apparently kept multiple deadly weapons in her throne at all times? Like she was so afraid of assassination or kidnapping that she needed to keep a loaded gun within arm's reach at all times?!! Talk about paranoia.
2:35 Vice Roy really got fool by Queen Amidala 😂
Have you guys noticed Ray Park in this scene?
No, where is he?
Padme W
I read Nute Gunray as Cute Gunray
Padme and her handmaidens are my favorite in the fight.
Nute was like when the Droid Control Ship is taken oout...
"All is lost... My Federation and I may be finished..."
It's weird to hear "jam the doors" instead of "lock the doors." Of course "lock the doors" is normally followed by "and hope they don't have blasters."
1:25 i just realized they used the ELG-3A blaster sound instead of the s-5 🙃
Padme was brave but failed to realize that she was being played by Palpatine, later the separatists joined the rebellion.
