I swear, that lyric video was made just to piss off Opeth fans 😂
😂💯 Yeah, my bad... I mentioned in another comment that I usually just do a quick audio check and the video with the best audio is the one I use, I didn't notice the editing (plus all the commentary). - V
The whole album follows this story. This song was the first part of it👅 so I recommend listening to the whole album if you are interested 👌🏼
Awsome... Good to know, we'll be sure to go through the album in order then.
Thanks for the info and for watching! - V
The Lepper Affinity - The very first Opeth song I heard. Was taking a walk through my town, the sky was dark and the rain was gently drizzling down. The timing could not have been better. I recommend it with all my heart.
Awsome backdrop for a track, I'll definitely add it to the list. Thanks for watching and the suggestion! - V
Hearing this I realised how much I love old and new Opeth... happy face.
Mikael Akerfeldt (vocalist) is the one singing and growling, but he also plays the guitar live while doing it. Oh, and he's the main composer of Opeth
Peter lindgren is co writer.
Opeth - Deliverance
Damnation............................>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Hearing this i realised how much i miss old Opeth.... *sad face*
I mean... The past albums are still there. They still play the older stuff in their shows. So what they evolved their sound in the newer albums. Opeth is still Opeth. Get over your expectation of what YOU want them to be and appreciate the art they continue to make.
@@nemesisofnormal This viewpoint just does not make sense. I am not going to keep listening to Metallica if like they suddenly became a polka band. Now, obviously Opeth has not undergone such a radical transformation, but still they have strayed really far from what I used to enjoy them for. I still like the band, saw them live last year but still I have to admit their past couple records bore me (Pale Communion was really good though) and I miss pre-Heritage Opeth.
@@BleaK1211 Eh, to be honest, just listen to Lars' drumming... It practically 'is' polka, always has been. Just polka with added blast beats lol.
Opeth made a far more drastic change than Metallica becoming polka, comparing current Opeth to their original stuff, but the transformation was slow over a period of decades. I don't mind it myself, but I wouldn't say it's close to my favourite. They hit their hayday in their middle-era albums, from Still Life to Watershed imo.
@@BleaK1211 So just because Metallica turns into a polka band, all their older material now means nothing to you? You'll stop listening to them just cause you don't like their new stuff? That's odd
@@leviathan3630 Not at all, I think I was misunderstood. I dont listen to their new stuff much because I dont like it as much.
THE DRAPERY FALLS!!
One of my all time favorite opeth songs. I got to discover this band in a really cool way. I had never heard of them but went to a concert and was mesmerized! You know a band is good if you can enjoy the concert having never listened to them. I ended up seeing them 3 more times since and they put on one of the best concerts ever. I highly recommend going to see them if it’s ever possible again.
'Hessian Peel' is such a devine beauty of a song as well. It's all rainbows and thunderstorms. I highly recommend it for your next Opeth trip.
I love how happy this dude is while listening to this song.
Harlequin Forest, live at the Royal Albert Hall is pretty amazing, as well as Blackwater Park, Ghost of Perdition, The Drapery Falls, The Grand Conjuration, and Deliverance. Even their newer stuff with less growls is really good, like Eternal Rains Will Come, Cusp of Eternity, and Moon Above, Sun Below, or even the older full album of Damnation. The have a huge and diverse catalog, most of it great music.
Awsome, thanks for the info/suggestions, and for watching! We'll definitely be checking out more of their music. - V
I liked the video. But there's a but. I appreciate the effort with the lyrics, but I find it annoying that you're explaining everything that is about to happen. This band is like a journey, you have to explore a lot of their music in order to understand it. To let it surprise you and then to re-listen. If you're giving spoilers, the whole experience disappears. Let people who have never listened to Opeth before discover by themselves and make their own opinions about what's weird or not, because you can change the vibe and it's a shame. Also, as a graphic designer, I think you should change the font, it's childish. Go with Helvetica, it always works. Cheers!
I think they just wanted a video with lyrics, but whoever made the lyrics video didn't do a very good job. I mean come on cutting the intro for the song because it's too long. It's not long compared to song and I don't like the commentarys either "now a very long acoustic part". Sounds to me that whoever made this video doesn't like instrumental parts and it's a bit like a movie spoiler for the ones who haven't heard the song before(I have heard it thousound times :)). Reaction video itself was good though :)
You're so right!
Here's an idea: stop telling other people how to approach and enjoy music! Crazy, right?
I got really heated watching the vid because of how insufferable this unnecesary commentary was. I can understand the intro cut because maybe this video is from those times where you couldn't post a +10 min vids but goddamnit this guy couldn't just shut the fuck up and stop trying to explain every little thing that it was going to happen in the song.
Also y'know he was one of this " OH YEAH I LOVE DEATH METAL " but get all whiny because there's acoustic sections and clean vocals.
people that tell me they don't like a song soley because it's long ....i don't get it .lol when i'm listening to good tunes time doesn't exist
💯
The person who made this lyrics video deserves to listen to cardi b for the rest of their life
I loved how you did this video, with the lyrics and your thoughts. I'd love to see your thoughts on some tunes like Pain Of Salvation - Iter Impius And Martius Nauticus II LIVE
Opeth - Moonlapse Vertigo
Nice reaction guys! Opeth is a very diverse band. Listen to Windowpane for a different, but beautiful experience. I would also recommend the song Blackwater Park.
Awsome, I'll add them to the list. Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching! - V
Awesome video! I would recommend listening to the songs Face of Melinda and Serenity Painted Death from this album... straight-up masterpieces.

Shit you need to listen to BTBAM - Between the burried and me!
Igorrr - ieuD
Wow, he really cut the intro couse its *too long?* What kind of opeth fan is he? Also all of the commentary are just cringe
Yeah, i thought it was a 10 year old kid who did this 🙄
Man... I'm sorry but it is a disservice to be trying to soften your listeners into this with the explanations
