Yes, maybe a second coat will make it simply stunning. Great idea of taking cuttings from your garden to bring the outdoors indoors, lots of joy and colour to make you smile. X
That must be really frustrating when they are not available in your size, I know some ladies get second hand mens jackets because they prefer the fit of them.

Aaaah good effort with the wax jacket, well done. The process reminded me of using saddle soap to clean and feed the leather on old jackets, bags and sofas. You think "thats a lot", but the old leather is like " AGAIN" 😂 couple of years ago started counselling as I was having anxiety attacks and was very depressed, it help me to identify my triggers, develop coping strategies and learn to say " no" " not today", " haven't the the capacity ". Good for you Catherine ❤

Well done for persevering with the Barbour jacket. I sent my 20 year old jacket to South Shields uk and it came back like new and it only cost the minimum amount quoted. Yes mine is for walking the dog only as it’s great for walking in the rain I also bought a matching hood too. Your garden looks really pretty 💐
My mum had a tent made of this material. The adults were in a small sleeping tent and me and my brother slept in the wax tent with all the food and supplies. However, she had not waxed it! so it leaked when it rained and I woke up to be floating around on my airbed with tins of baked beans beside me😂

i‘ve had my barbour for 30+ years. all i do is clean the inside with a damp cloth and surgical spirit and air it out on a nice day before and after the season (roughly sept-april). the outside i‘ve re-waxed regularly (about every other year) myself. i didn‘t even know there was a professional re-waxing service! and now with the blasted bre🤬🤬it it‘s no longer an option for me (currently living in austria). aaanyway - your jacket looks fab and you look very „boho country girl“ in it. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 lots of love and „servus“ from tiny-town austria, monica
It’s lovely after some wonderful hot sunny weather to hear the sound of rain , it does make you want to cosy up your nest. I had a Barbour coat for years and I loved it but they are quite high maintenance, I used to heat my wax to liquid in a pan of hot water keeping it on a very low heat I then painted the wax on with a paint brush kept for that purpose then leave it to dry in an airy place for a few days. I thought you looked lovely in it a real country girl 👍

Catherine wait a couple of days for the wax to "seep" into the jacket before you consider a second coat. It looks great on you! I remember wearing a wax coat years ago in the 70's/80's!.
Well Catherine it certainly looks better. Well done. I'm afraid mine got demoted out of the wardrobe into the hallway from the hallway into the shed and then it's final resting place was in the bin. Some years back though and mine was no way as funky looking as yours.
