Yes !! My thoughts exactly !! Just brill……she really makes my day, especially if I am feeling a bit less than 100%….it’s not long before I am chuckling along and feeling inspired again 💕💕🤗🤗🤪🤪😂😂🎉🎉
My poor neighbors are probably wondering why that new lady is screaming over art supplies. I about exploded with excitement when you dipped the Art Graf Artist Water Soluble Tailors Chalk in water! Lol! Not even waiting to finish the video before ordering. Wouldn't it be fun year end to do a video using all your favorite 2023 art supplies?
I love how you don’t inhibit your excitement and how it comes out in voice changes. I totally relate to you. And that deep foresty olive green watercolor is an AMAZING yummy color!
I love seeing new (to me) art supplies! Thank you so much for trying out so many different things. I can't tell you how many times I've thought, oh my, I must have THAT! 😊
Loved the totems I totally listen as well as look I love your excitement. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the watercolour markers from Faber Castel. Thank you and have a lovely weekend 😊
I'm the butterfly girl! So happy to see you got one. I had saw the Art Graf in use and boy did I want to find a way to let you know about them. So glad to see you got them and can't wait to see how you use them. I haven't picked them up yet, but they are on my wishlist!!
OhmyGOSH, it’s difficult enough watching your regular videos- then when you post HAULS like this…SWOOON! Alas, my wallet says “pace yourself”. I love listening to you, Denise- no speeding up for me!🥰
I laughed so hard when you commented about your refund being designated for art supplies. That is exactly what I would say. This was an especially fun day! Love the supplies and I love what you created with them. That Art Graf set is really calling out to me, but I’m going to try to plug up my ears.
You got some lovely art supplies, I did like the colours in the Faber Castel box , cannot wait for you to use them , to see all the lovely colours,,,xxxxx ❤
What a great haul, those paints are gorgeous! It's so much fun to see how you use the supplies all together! I have some of the dotting tools, they were originally sold to use with metal stencils. I have used them for dots, and I've discovered that I have to use the top part of the ball if I want to get good dots. As you keep dotting the dots get smaller (love that). I love using them with gold too!
These paintings have got to be my favorites🎉. I so enjoy painting with Masha’s watercolors. I have quite a few of her heart ❤️ shaped pans. They really don’t need to be sprayed. Just a wet brush brings the colors alive 😅. Another delightful demo 👍
FYI It is my experience with Masha's Watercolors that spraying down a pallette simply causes everything to run together. Then u end up wasting paint cleaning up the mess created! Enjoy them! They are lots of fun colors! Looks like lots of fun supplies!
So I see you’ve dipped your toe into the pool of Marsha watercolors. OMG my all-time favorite granulating Watercolors. The more I play with them and get the amount of water just right the more beautifully they granulate. Try bumping a splotch of ultramarine magenta against a splotch of serpent green and watch what happens when those two colors mingle. Looks like raku pottery to me. Love! I use dotting tools as well to make dots on my pieces. I think you’ll find they work easier if you water down the paint a bit. Another specialty watercolor you need to try is Lisilinka. The best and most spectacular metallic watercolors ever. I have more metallic watercolors than any human should have, and these are at the top of the list. I will actually wet one of the metallic pans and use a dotting tool to dip little sparkly, metallic dots that make it really super spectacular on a piece. Just sharing from one enabler to another. Lol. ❤
You come up with the most amazing ideas. I just love these "totem pole"/bookmarks. They looked really nice even together on one sheet, as well as separated. Nice art haul. I was gifted by an amazing set of pastels similar to the ones you got here by a friend whose mom, an artist, had passed. They were just stunning colours and I love working with all the - to use your favourite term - "yummy" colours!
I use the dotting tools for dots, I find the bleed proof white , if you stick the tool right in then you get different sizes as it uses it up. I think they use those to make Mandela s originally, great art haul, I really want the Faber castell pens. Xx
I know longer subscribe to Art subscription boxes because we don’t have them in Australia and the ones you get from overseas start at $55 - $75+ and go up from there then you have to add on shipping. However I used to have a lot of trouble trying to figure out how to use some of this stuff in an artwork to make a picture but since watching you I know now I can make an abstract piece and it’s so much more freeing, expressive and fun.
How ironic....I just watched a video this a.m. where the artist used the "tailor's chalk." I have a couple of pieces of actual tailor's chalk from high school 54 years ago which is probably the last time I actually sewed any type of garment (and that's not saying much as I got a c+ on it). Wonder if it work on art? I'll give it a try. The colors of your tailor's chalks are beautiful; the water colors are lovely; the pastels are so pretty; love the brush holder and all the other items you received. I would never rush through a video of yours because your comments and squeals of delight are so infectious. You have inspired me to get my butt off the sofa and to into my craft/art room and make some totems. Have a great day, Denise.
Have you ever checked out the mandala painting videos? I thought about those dotting tools for you weeks ago & thought you may enjoy adding them to your arsenal. You can make all kinds of marks with those tools. I can't wait to see what you do with them.
I know those dot makers you didn’t really like as sgraffito markers. You use them to make marks before or after painting and they fill in with watercolour, like debossing. I hope you find them fun for that. Oh, and I tried Dorland’s wax paste to seal my pastels on bookmarks. It seemed to work well, even rubbing it in. Surprised me!
Gaining so much from these videos! They speak to my intelligent but under experienced level in art and supplies. Thank you so much! I do wonder how I can find a paper punch like you used for your mark-making reference board. I like that size and shape of punched medallion. Might I have a name, number, and/or link?
That was a Bira Craft punch I found at Michaels a few years ago. I don't see it online anywhere now. This one is similar and has a cool shape. Same size: amzn.to/3RygY8u
Artgraf comes in 13 colours. They got a primary set and an extra red and a green, plus grafite and white. you need to get the red and green open stock as they are not in any sets.
@@2lilowlsstudio colour mixing is the anawer. ;) :P I want all of them but I got too much stuff in my studio as is. I am glad those watercolours ship from US and I am too cheap to pay for import fees into Europe. :D
Maybe it wouldn’t be as fancy but if you used pastels on bookmarks, a person could laminate them if you had access to a laminator. That would take care of the powder issue.
OK i am not even into watching your haul and on my Amazon list is those Art Graft Chalk. Girl now I am ordering now. Why!!! LOL. Now to continue watching. 😊
I so wish Santa would bring me some artgraf tailor’s chalk! I’m a got by Carolyn J Roberts use of them! Denise you can order more colors individually, granted a limited selection.
Hi Denise. I really enjoy your videos! I notice that you use non permanent mediums like water color with permanent ones like Pitt pens. Question: How do you varnish your pieces?
I don't think it is permanent. This is what Jerry's Artarama says: Inspired by the traditional tailor's chalk, the ArtGraf Tailor Shape is a block of pressed pigment designed for painting and drawing. The incredibly soft water-soluble chalk provides artists with a full range of shades and values. Depending on water use, you can create light translucent tones or rich dark strokes. The water-soluble chalk can also be used dry as a drawing medium by itself and is erasable. You can use the pigment block like a pan of watercolor and pick up color with a wet brush or mix blocks to create different colors. ArtGraf Tailor Shape Pigment Blocks are excellent tools for drawing and painting.
Well I wasn’t laughing until you asked if we were laughing at you, or speeding thru. Ya got me laughing. I have 14 more minutes to watch till I have to go judge a dog show but still not gonna speed through.
It’s crazy how you can go your whole life without meeting anyone like you, but on the internet…. Denise is definitely my people ❤
I know!! Right? I love that we can find our peeps online! I love it! Thank you! 🥰

Hi Denise. I really enjoy your videos! I notice that you use non permanent mediums like water color with permanent ones like Pitt pens. Question: How do you varnish your pieces?
I have a video I did on how I preserve my art here: ua-cam.com/video/_E0I0FjbnXw/v-deo.htmlsi=BiTaet73IKPNey_o
Do the tailor’s chalk things become permanent, or could they smear and should be sealed unless framed under glass?
