I had to come back here to thank you so much for this tutorial. I had this urge to braid my own hair because the prices out there are ridiculous on top of having a scalp condition where it isn’t worth it for me. I tried your method last night and it was so much easier for me! I’m amazed that I did this on random Tuesday night at 9pm 😅. I did them super jumbo (24) and it took me 3.5 hours. Thank you so much again!!
This came out so nice and I want to give it a try now myself which means is big for me because I’ve never attempted a box braided style

Question: Is the crochet method better for your hair? And by that I mean is there less tension, less pulling, less shedding…? I stopped getting braids because it was way too harsh and too much tension on my hair, and my hair broke off at the nape of my neck.

I just tried out these Amazon braids, and THEY SUCK!
Yes, I washed the hair before with apple cide vingear and cold water, then shampoo and conditioned with brush.
1. They tangled when seperating despite spraying conditioner, water, and loose gels.
2. They tangled when crocheting them throw the hair, even when gentle.
3. THEY KNOT IN THE MIDDLE OR THE ENDS OF THE HAIR, SO YOU'RE CONSTANTLY CUTTING OR BRUSHING.
4. The hair is bipolar with a detangling brush. Sometimes brushing makes it worse.
5. They tangled into my own hair when removing!
