Chevelle has really found their niche and settled comfortably into it. Sludgy, riffy, delicious hard rock is what they've always done best.
Funny,I always think of chevelle as happy music i forgot they are in that genre lol.
I'm 63 and been a Rocker all my life. They are one of my favorite Bands. We are talking with the likes of Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Godsmack,The Cult,Korn,Alice in Chains, Tool, Queensryche,Deftones. FANTASTIC.

I love Chevelle. I mean, I just friggin' love these guys. I love their sound, I love their cryptic lyrics, I love how heavy they can be, I love how emotional they can be, I love everything about these guys, man. I mean, damn. Love 'em.

Well they do sound a bit like Tool, but they still have their own sound signature. This new album is off the charts good.
This song definitely sound like a Tool song. Is not a bad thing knowing Tool is one of their influences.
Forgive me for saying, but Pete takes the riffs and lyrics to downright ugly places. Places JMK was too fresh to go into

Everyone says that lol They've always been compared to Tool.
But now after hearing this, I can hear it. Especially certain parts, the inflection in his voice was similar to Maynard's 90's era, not really 2000's.

Not necessarily. Just like rappers get pissed when a copycat "steals their flow", blatantly imitating Maynard is lame. Took him years to develop that sound and this guy just copies and pastes. Not a legit talent. If they want to be a tribute band fine but pretending to be "original" is horseshit and anyone denying that has their head in the sand.
@@cobblerama i also now hear so much Tool in this song and i don't think it is good. Sci Fi Crimes was really unique beast, but with the bass pedestal here and those annoying filters/vocal effects... i am not a fan of that. I mean, it is not bad to have inspiration from other bands, but i just wish that this was more Chevelle, than trying to be another Tool. It is not right when band sound like other band.

FACE FULLY MELTED. I can't think of one other band that is 20 years in and just keep killing it like Chevelle. They sound like Chevelle but somehow manage to reinvent themselves again. The level of creative genius is so underrated. My top 5 bands ever.
I've always disliked chevelle and then they do this... I may need to revisit their old stuff and see what I may have missed

I’ve been listening to Chevelle since Wonder What’s Next and never really understood the Tool comparisons. However, I definitely hear Tool in the this song and Pistol Star (Gravity Heals). Even a little bit in Peach. Great songs nonetheless!

I feel similar however I can say that based off of both Wonder What's Next and Sci-Fi Crimes, I definitely felt a sort of innate association of the two styles, along with some of Deftone's stuff
Most of the Tool comparisons I’ve seen came from Point #1. Check out Skeptic and Sma off that album. Helmet vibes too.
both bands are produced by the same guy, so the mixing tech is very similar....a lost in this is the art work, Boris Vallejo did the cover

Went to my very first CheVelle concert last Friday and I was so happy to see them Live! I’ve always listened to them on my MP3 player due to my dad since I was 9, and I’ve never ever been disappointed with their music and heard this album when it first came out and while training for my MOS school for the Marine Corps. Still my favorite band and this album definitely proves it and shows that they’ve still got their old CheVelle vibe 🤙🏽❤️

This song sounds like it came out of a mutation of Grunge from the 90s. The riff just has that aesthetic.

I'm so glad I was exposed to chevelle at an early age. They're one of the driving forces behind my interest in music, and they are a simply amazing band.
So I'm just listening to the album all the way through right now, had to play this one 3 times just to take it all in, I think Chevelle just ended music as we know it, nothing will ever be this good again

I saw them open for breaking benjamin a couple years ago and damn it should've been the other way around. Such a big sound for just 3 dudes
I saw them in salt lake city in the fall before covid amazing!!
Saw them in dallas in sept 2019...it was simply perfection in every way. The sun had just set, their red glow with mirrors on stage lit up bright as hell, then bam.... there they were jamming like hell.
Then of course I had planned to see them 2020 and I was told by my government that I was on house arrest. Oh well... screw that.
I'll surely be there the next go round.

Glad it's not just me. I used to think of the comparison a lot when I was first getting into Chevelle years ago, then less as I picked up on their unique sound. But this song. I swear it was meant as a tribute to Tool. It just has their sound through and through, especially from around the Undertow and AEnima days.
