Episode 2: • GUY RITCHIE: THE STORY...
Guy Ritchie is a genius of the British New Wave. Brash editing and hilarious dialogues are his calling card. Each British crime comedy is compared to his films Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. He created a new genre and pushed the invisible limits of potential for dozens of excellent actors. Now it’s time to get to know Guy better and immerse ourselves in the beautiful world of cinema. In this part, we will talk about Richie's return to the streets of London, the incredibly charming "Gentlemen" and "Wrath of Man" by Jason Statham.

This channel is CRIMINALLY underrated. I’m going to tell everyone I know about these videos, they’re brilliant!
Thank you!
Agreed. The editing is as slick as the source material...
Part 1 and 2 were great, the VO on part 3 is killing me haha
Speaking as a Londoner, it makes it unwatchable, parts 1 & 2 were great.
@@paddybpaddyb9940Sounds like it's an attempt to do the Hugh Grant voice from The Gentleman.
Bit of a sickly poofter type lol
It’s crazy how little I hear people talk about “The Wrath Of Man” what a ride
.. years from now, people will look back at Ritchie's movies & realize he's one of the new greats 🧐😅
I realize now that i have bought pretty much his entire filmography without realizing.
Part 1 and 2 I really enjoyed this part the VO completely turning it into comedy sketch and devaluing the seriousness and professional factor of the whole thing.
The intention was to imitate Hugh Grant’s Fletcher carácter from The Gentlemen. I think VO nailed it, but the idea itself was terrible. Most of our audience didn’t get that and the change was badly received. Now we understand our mistake. Maybe this year we will remake it with a new VO, who’s voice is similar.
Agree. Very first moments of this part and I realized something's off.
bring the old voice over guy back
This movie surprisingly became one of my favorites right away. Sum of its parts kind of thing and the vibe I guess just worked for me. Need more movies like this again.
You guys CAN'T make a bad documentary can you...!!! That was a statement not a question. Thank you, yet again, for something SO watchable. Applause.
Mate, this is a great video with the fantastic style of Mr Ritichie
This channel deserves more recognition. When I first discovered it I was shocked it wasn't in the millions already. I hope you keep going
Thank you so much for your support!
Firstly - amazing documentaries. Your tarrintino saga popped up on my time line and I’m working through all of yours - absolutely stunning work!
Guy Ritchie is a great director and never fails to take risks. I’m loving his recent resurgence and thought the Gentlemen was incredible with wrath of man being fun and well directed. I remember when lock stock came out and being blown away by the style and how different it was to anything, then seeing snatch and knowing that every release would be a must watch….. apart from I’ve never seen swept away 😂
Thank you, Chris!!!
Thanks really enjoyed it
Aladdin was his hit and King Arthur the flop 😩 I weep for civilization
👏👏👏
“Wrath of Man” is one of the best movie EVER! Seen it so many times already and love it more and more each time😃 He is such a great director - absolutely love all of his films!😃👍
Yes The story it was simple and enjoyful
Also The héro is Amazing and The Great music
clearly need to watch more movies
One my favorite films of last year!
I must have watched a different movie. It just felt like Guy Ritchie with all the style and pop taken out to me. Can see why the critical reception was so polarised.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but objectively Wrath of Man is kind of a shit movie. Have you watched Guy Ritchies earlier movies?
I just finished the gentleman a few hours back and wanted to see any videos of guy Ritchie and found your channel andnfinished all three videos of guy ritchie.my god who are you and why doesn't the world know you. AMAZING videos mate . Gonna chill the weekend with rest of your videos
Wow, thank you for your warm words of support!
To say that you deserve a lot more subscribers would be the understatement of the century. Keep up the grind I love watching your stuff.
Thank you so much! We are very bad at promotion, that's why we have the numbers that we have. It is very difficult for us to ask subscribers to share our work on their social networks or give us likes, or leave a comment... as everyone does. We do not want to break the integrity of our documentaries.
What a fantastic piece of editing. I think you paid homage to Guy Ritchie with your fantastic edit! Cheers
Thank you so much!
I am in love with this channel fascinating what happened behind the scenes cheers🍻
These are soooo good!
Your channel is fucking awesome your style of delivery, set up and small hints in colour and centralizing a point. It's quite criminal that you don't have atleast 100k or a 1 million followers. The Quentin Tarantino videos are masterful. I could actually see you film a small budget movie. And I would enjoy every second of it🔥🔥🔥
Thank you very much! We hope more people think like you and share our videos.
Bruv you worked hella hard on this. Also The Gentleman is an absolutely fantastic movie and has about the rewatchability of Snatch, which is high praise indeed anyways peace
Esse é um dos melhores canais do UA-cam sobre cinema! O seus vídeos me inspiram a um dia filmar o meu próprio filme.
Muito obrigado por existir!
Commented two days ago after watching the full Tarantino videos, now here I am again lmao, I don’t even know what to say, you’re so underrated it should be a crime, don’t stop what you’re doing
Thank you! I really appreciate your words. I'm working in something new. It will take some time yet, but it will be great ;)
finally, yesss!!!
We live in amazing times. We are all millionaires with such great story of film 🎥
This channel is a revalation. Exceptional work. Bravo :)
Let’s go love these 💪
Another amazing piece of work.
I wonder why they went with a different narrator on this 3rd part. He’s overdoing it. 😢
Finally, yesss!!!
Fantastic review of the Master's career.
Man, this channel is really excellent! You guys definitely deserve to be a million+ sub channel!
I'm so happy you lot picked a British huh for this brilliant video like always I mean dear God this channel is beautiful
Glad you think so!
It never even occurred to me that an English accent could come across as racist against The British, but, well… here is this video! 🤣
Narration of the first two installments was just fine. Not sure why they used this over the top, jarring accent for the third. I like these videos though, and having made some montage videos myself (for friends and family), I can appreciate the incredible hard work that went into this series.
@@JeffintheD I was just playing…
Bollocks Her Majesty the Queen spoke Cockney in private . God's own accent
@@dannywlm63 I’m just joking. That’s why there’s a 🤣 on the end of it.
Good thing English isn't a race, or one of the chosen liberals choose to defend.
So many facts in the first 8 minutes alone. This video is a masterpiece. Well done! Agreed, this is an underrated channel and I will be subbing on all channels I run. Been watching for awhile and I really enjoy your work and am looking forward to more videos. You'll have 100k subs in no time if you keep this up! Very inspiring and continues to motivate me during the long hours that are editing.

Super that u did it in "guy richie" firm with the voice over.
Great chapter again thanks! It may be me though but I am not so sure about voice over’style, nevertheless good job guys, you deserve way more subs, peace
Do a Scorsese one pls!
I´m doing it ;)
@@OkoloKino great Thanks can’t wait ! 🤙🏻💙
Love the video. Stumbled across this and glad I did.
5 minutes was all I could muster listening to Frank Spencer narrate, what happened the last bloke?
These docs are awesome. Keep up the amazing work.
Thank you! Stay tuned! There is a new one on the way
The best story!
Special thanks for you, Svetlana!
@@OkoloKino 🤗
Really well done! Thanks so much!
The Gentlemen and Wrath of Man was the great one-two punch that brought Guy Ritchie back to his true form again! Man, both of those movies are so great and are my top two favorite Guy Ritchie movies.
He’s a plagiarist.
@@gypsywhispers9224 why do you say that??
Very good mate. Bless.
Thats my local pub in Acton. I didnt know it was owned by GR!!
Nice job
the editing is pure gold
Thank you!
Thank you Sir, for your channel.
Almost as if it was edited by Guy. Great attention to detail in the art of storytelling
Superb video of an even more superb director & fellow Englishman .
Add 1 more sub
Parts 1 & 2 of this series were great but the narration on this one is a failure.
I get the intention but as a viewer and a Londoner it really doesn't work for me, the accent isn't good and sounds like a bad impression, this wasn't a good stylistic choice and distracts from the content.
Just my opinion.
Thank you for your opinion!
@@OkoloKino I like the channel overall so will still check out the other content.
SO EPIC AS USUAL!!!
Jst subscribed.. keep up the good work
Thank you!
What an amazing journey these 3 videos were! I had no idea I would sit here & spend so much time learning about Guy Ritchie when I clicked on the 1st vid! For what it's worth, you have a new sub.
Thank you!
The narrator sounds a little like Frank Spencer from some "mothers do Ave em" rather than Hugh grants character.
His best ever movie was revolver, his worse was the security van one.
We don't call it the theatres in Bri-ish mate, it's the cinema.
The theatre is the West End my boy
Gr8 video series... Didnt much enjoy this one bcoz of the commentsry style.
Thank you, Henry! We pretended to hire a voice actor who would be able to imitate the speaking manner of Fletcher's character from The Gentelmen. I think he did it very well. But yes, it was a risky decision.
@@OkoloKino yeah i agree. Its not that he didn't do a gr8 job. He absolutely did, if i had to think it probably has to do with the pacing of the commentary coming from watching the 1st two straight...
Again gr8 series....
A King and his Court. 😎
Who were you impersonating at the beginning? Seems very much like Hugh Grant's act in The Gentlemen. Well you are a half naughty boy aren't ya ;)
Listen, could you do a comparison between the big production companies and what their ethos for film is (besides the profit motive obviously) eg A24, Studiocanal, Miramax, Working Title, A Man Apart etc etc. No one delves into this.
edit: my guy (no pun intended), did you not say in the previous part that Jason Statham was the best player on set and always beat Ritchie?
I felt engorged by this naughty impersonation, good on them.
the gentleman was great. wish I liked wrath of man more, but I just read it as more Statham vehicle than Ritchie movie
kak vsegda cool!
Just watched all 3 guy Ritchie docos =absolutely brilliant if I may add my dear man -well done
The mans a plagiarist google it.
Wonderful idea for the narration, just loved it!
Guy Ritchie...,Handsome and English dontcha know 😉😘
I love the voice actor in this biography. It's a mixture of Fletchermundo and Guy Ritchie speech tempo and style.
Where did you find out about the actress leaving? Can't find that anywhere
The attempt to take of the Fletcher character in the narration let's this trilogy down!
Changing the narrator in part 3 is disconcerting. Enjoyed 2 parts and not finishing the last.
It might be short but can you do one about Shane black
Horrible narration in this video, terrible deduction to switch the voice from the previous two videos👎👎
Great series, but on this episode, a strange choice of character narration. (I’m English and that is a sh1te attempt of a “character” voice).
No wonder Michelle Dockery seemed so out of place. Kate would have saved the film.
"How did Ritchie became an russia lover" - the new perfect title for the video. Thanx for your work.
snatch was his last watchable film. you see that new one with jillenhal? what a turd
the narrator voice is annoying
Disappointed I couldn't finish this video series, as the first two are great, but this narration is absolutely unlistenable. What on earth were you thinking?
The accent ruins it tbh. Enjoyed the first 2 parts though
My film about Scorsese was narrated by the same guy. If you don't like him, you can visit my second channel Kolo Kino clips. The videos there are dubbed by a New Yorker.
Song at 26:00?
One person I’d like to meet.
Why did Kate B quit?
I like Arthur
Please never , never, ever use this voice over again…
Who is the narrator? He sounds from the main dude from Disco Elysium
His name is Guy Barnes. The intention was to imitate Fletcher from The Gentelmen.
King Arthur and Man from UNCLE was great movies. Arthur is different, but ir worked. The new Robin Hood is pretty simalar, but that was realy bad... Love every Guy Richie movie! PS: Aladdin was horrible....
Not keen on the dodgy narrator on this one
Love your work but the Mockney accent is not for me, makes Dick Van Dyke sound authentic. Otherwise great stuff.
White widow super cheese. Just seemed a very amateur line, the kind of thing my grandad would say
I watched the Tarantino videos and they were great.
This was crap.
How is that even possible.
One thing I hear is that the narrator sound like he is over acting and re-record and edit every single sentence. Like that Philip Franco guy.
I obviously heard he read from a script in the other videos too but it sounded more like he was just reading, not trying to be an actor.
I'm going to defend our voice actor. Watch The Gentelmen movie. There is a character named Fletcher. Since in this part about Guy Ritchie we focus on that movie we were looking for a voice actor who can imitate him. I think the narrator Guy Barnes has done a great job.
@@OkoloKino
Ok. I get it.
I've watched that one when it came out.
I watched the other Richie episodes yesterday and they were great. This one I couldn't sit through.
Channel is very great however this particular voice in this video is annoying.
This is an awesome channel... but the voice in this one is hugely grating. Was hard to get theough... even though The Gentlemen is one of my favourite films.
Hi! We were searching for so long time until to find this voice actor. The idea was that his voice and narration is very similar to Fletched from the Gentelmen. This person, Guy Barnes, resulted very professional and stable, so we are happy to work with him until today. However we understand that his sharp accent from England is not for everyone. Maybe some day, if our channel becomes big enough and we find some "Morgan Freeman´s documentary voice", we will remake our films with american accent.
@@OkoloKino I get that it was meant to mimic the London accent, it's just that the voice sounds forced. It does not sound natural. The voice from the other Guy Ritchie videos was great. But the details included in the video were awesome. Thanks for the good work (and the reply). If you consider new voices at anytime, give me a shout.
@@lazatron2547 Yes, we do! If you are a voice actor, you can send us a sample to our email.
just want to second lazatron’s opinion here, the switch from the narrator’s voice in the last two parts over to this forced, stilted accent threw me out of the story. You mentioned above you’d re-do them if you had the money in an american accent, but i think you’re missing the point. These videos and the stories you tell are really good, well researched, and thoroughly entertaining. They are very genuine, and reflect your love of the subjects. The artificiality of the accent (It’s realness doesnt matter, hust the delivery and pacing) throws me out. If the narrator spoke in any accent, with fluidity and more importantly confidence and empathy regarding the material, it would allow your stories to connect more directly with the audience.
Never do this accent again lol
Statham beat Ritchie at chess most of the time ...
What's with the cheesy narrator's Aladdin-esque accent on this one? The first two documentaries these guys did on Ritchie were spot on. This one though, unbearable to watch.
You're way off with "Aladdin-esque", it's cockney and it sounds more like a spin on one of Hugh Grant's Guy Ritchie characters. I thought it was fine but I probably did prefer the American narrator from the first 2 parts
Good video but fucking hell that accent is grating.
I just don’t like the accent sorry
Watched your Tarantino trilogy and began watching your guy ritchy trilogy. being English you completely ruined the 3rd with this dumb narration of your 3rd installment, really disappointed. I thought it was only going to be for a little bit but it was the whole episode (sad face) I hope you re do this in your normal portrayal
The best part of Wrath of Man was Post Malone getting his brains blown out. I could watch that a million times and never get sick of watching that POS get killed.
👍👍👍👍
The gentlemen is an excellent movie but Wrath of Man was very boring and uninteresting. For me, at least.
Only hes plagiarised three so far… hear my words…so far.
