    Don't know if you do this but I have noticed a lot of people will prop their hood open at night and some even place strings of led lights around the engine to discourage pack rats and mice from making themselves at home. You have a nice little setup.

    Watching some of your older videos. And I can't wait to start van life. I am so stressed and anxious all the time. I get where I can't even begin to declutter. I need out of here. I was injured at work and won't be going back any time soon. So just waiting on my permanent disability to go through. I used the temp disability already so should have no problem being approved. Just need a van already ready . Lol

    Hi Sarah you have quite a layout in your Jeep . I’m 70 and thinking of selling my homestead and doing something similar until my 80th then see how I feel. I’ve worked hard my whole life plus raising two boys on my own and always wanting to do what you’re doing. Trying to decide on a Teardrop or Off road tent trailer . My youngest wants me to live with his family in California but I know I would be wandering if I should of traveled first . I might not even live to see my 80 th , dying doesn’t bother me one least bit, it’s not living my life to the fullest that does . Absolutely love your videos, much love to you and Lil One ❤️

    The next time you make one of these kind of videos tell us about your radio, is it Ham, GMRS OR CB? Also what about your spare tire. I am curious if you can by yourself lift the spare on and off. I'm getting older and I am super curious how guys and girls are dealing with manipulating these oversized tires. What a beautiful area.

    Hi! I've been living in my 1993 YJ for the last 7 years in Alaska. Just bought a 2014 JK hard top, I think you're awesome. It doesn't matter if you are a male or female. The more secure you can make your Jeep living accomodations, the better. I have a little piece of mind from Mossberg. I don't carry all my things in my Jeep though. I have a storage unit I trade out seasonal stuff to play with.

    coffee tip, if you ever find your self without the press, pour some cold water in the coffee and the grounds will sink to bottom after a few minutes, then reheat again, clean pour with no grounds in cup. this is a old school cowboy trick from the trail days.

    I lived in my 2005 2 door Wrangler for 5 months in 2016. I also did tent camping. The front seats aren’t very comfortable so when I stayed in one place l slept in the tent.
    I have since gotten an off-road teardrop trailer to live in. I now have a Labrador retriever so it’s pretty mandatory to have more space. Your video brings back memories though 😊

    Hello and nice video. I would caution you with your cute little dog, as the weather warms, the dreaded rattlesnakes will be showing up. All dogs are curious, and it would be a tragedy if something happened to the little one. Please be careful with what she investigates and keep her close by..

      As someone that is a distinguished pistol shooter, shoots pistol competitively one handed at 25/50 yards, and teaches marksmanship I'd recommend a revolver for someone that doesn't shoot frequently. Many people in a stressful situation will probably miss on the first shot. Stressful situations can result in a person limp wristing a firearm, which will cause the slide action on a semiautomatic pistol not to work properly. When that happens the slide will not eject the case properly and/or chamber the next round. That means you have a gun that is nothing better than a hammer after the 1st shot if you don't know what you are doing. At best you are going to loose time. With a revolver if any round fails to fire, the next next round will always be ready with each trigger pull. If you already have a semiautomatic just train with it a little more often so that you learn how to quickly clear and rechamber a round if this happens to you. I have a Glock 19 9mm that holds 16 rounds that I like a lot, but when I camp I usually bring both my 1911 45 ACP and a 357 magnum revolver - if needed I can shoot both at the same time - one in each hand. When I am out hiking I usually will have a 380 semiautomatic and a can of bear spray. I think even bear spray is a better option on evil people than a firearm under certain conditions at camp sites - it's like having the accuracy of a shotgun and will let police homicide investigators to stay in their office more to drink coffee. :) .

    • @rogerhenson6589
      @rogerhenson6589 Рік тому +7

      I agree a revolver would be the safest handgun for a person who is unfamiliar with firearms and is not going to practice all the time. If recoil an noise is a problem suggest 22 magnum Cal. As a minimum.

    • @TexCynRVLife
      @TexCynRVLife Рік тому +8

      Although suggestions are good. We may not already know if she packs or not. Personally I never think it's a good idea for anyone to share info as that lets the ILL intended know what you have.

    • @BrewManPhilly
      @BrewManPhilly Рік тому +1

      Carrying firearm around the country can be problematic. Each state has it's own laws as to how you can and cannot carry a firearm. Sometimes it has to be disassembled and in a separate area as the ammo, some places require to have the chamber under the hammer to be empty. Some places are more reasonable.
      The other main thing is a willingness to actually use it without hesitation. Killing something/someone is a heavy head trip that should be considered before purchasing a firearm.
      I agree with st8shooter with a revolver as an EDC. Simple, safe and easy to care for.

    • @jamesnicola8282
      @jamesnicola8282 Рік тому

      Guns are great but not all states are the same. Another item a person can carry for protection is bear spray, or you can carry wasp spray. If you spray a person in the face, especially the eyes, it will give you a chance to get away. It is also good for 20ft. So you can spray them before they get too close.

    It can't be explained. Try and visit this wonderful place.

They have a variety of shelfs you could get for the back, might have to look to see how high they are off the floor and that you would have enough room for you to fit comfortably having that platform. Once you put the hardtop on. Body Armor 4x4 Interior Storage Rack, just an idea. Sarah, have you heard of the recent government ban Filming in National Parks, Historic sites and federal lands managed by the government to UA-cam, Tiktok and other social media sites? In October 2022, they reinstated the filming ban without a permit. Posting to UA-cam, etc is considered commercial filming which isn't allowed without a permit.

      UHOH I think the drone police are here. LOL. As far as commercial drone filming requiring a permit is concerned I think it is a stupid law. 99% of people that make a basic standard living that just get by are probably thinking a drone permit is stupid too and just will ignore the law, which in my opinion gives the law no teeth.

Instead I moved to AZ from the midwest and will do multiple 1 to 2 week trips from the Phoenix area, looking for altitude (cooler temps) in the summer months in Flagstaff and the western sates north of me. I'm in a 2015 Nissan Xterra...the Jeeps and 4Runners were just a bit too expensive for my budget but I do like them a lot.

  • @Str8Shooter-
    @Str8Shooter- Рік тому

    Thanks for breaking down how you live out of your jeep. After watching your videos I developed some ideas on how to make some nice black out curtains for added privacy for my next trip. I live out of my 4x4 truck to travel the USA from the east coast to the west coast and back staying on BML and NF lands similar to how you live after the weather gets nicer. Last year I did a couple of trips that lasted 4-6 weeks each. I decided not to have solar panels for my Jackery 300 used for my Dometic fridge because it charges up fast enough while I am driving on vehicle 12 volt power outlet. My biggest problem is that my jackery only keeps my fridge powered for up to 20 hours or so before needing recharge. I'm considering buying a 700 or 800 watt Bluetti so that I can keep the fridge powered for 3-4 days so that I can do at least one or two nice backpacking hiking adventures this year. If I parked long enough like you solar panels might be a good idea, but heck I still think I would drive at least an hour or two every other day just to buy supplies, get water, and hit a nice local hiking trail.

    You seem to be getting things down to a science, and your planned improvements make perfect sense. It's not unusual for me to cringe when I see how someone is adapting to nomadic life, or failing to, or being overly stressed by either the actual workload or perceived uncertainty. Sometimes it's because they just can't form a vision of how they want things to be, or they lack the abilities, money, or work ethic needed to follow through. Other times it's just a lack of ability to notice, analyze, and solve problems, or improve things that aren't really problems. You are doing a great job on all those fronts.
