In my opinion, keeping life simple is great for winning the battling against depression and improving happiness. To that point you are winning! While I do enjoy having a home and community of friends where I live in Maryland, living out of my 4x4 pickup (No RV) on BLM and NF land last year for 2 months straight improved my health both emotionally and physically. I met many wonderful people on the road. I tried to embrace simple and minimalistic living that entire time and I liked it. didn't eat at fast food joints or go to laundry mats - just cooking for myself and washing clothes in a bucket of water. It was actually more fun than it sounds. I'm about ready to live out of my pickup/tent for a few months again and explore the western USA in about a month from now.

You really don't have to explain the decisions you make to us, Sarah. The fact that you are willing to just shows how real and genuine you are. That's why I subbed to your channel. 'The COVID years' seem to have sucked humanity and life out of a lot of us. When I find people on UA-cam that exude positivity, I follow them. I suspect a lot of folks subbed to your channel for your refreshingly low-key positivity, like I did!😊

Well said … COVID didn’t affect me the way it seems to affect others… yes it was a definitely a change for the country but for me it was like a STOP sign to be at peace, to slow down and smell the tulips .. to reflect on my life… this journey…

The fact that you have chosen this lifestyle and are not being forced to live on the road as a nomad is a huge advantage that not everyone has, and you clearly have your long range plans and goals in place as well, so its pretty clear, the world is your oyster right now, Jeepsy!

Sarah you don't have to explain what your motivation is generated from. You are doing what you want to live. I too am solo. I own my house and don't want to live on my 4 Runner but I would do so if need be. Im planning to take a road trip to Ely Nevada and maybe further in June.. Thanks for you sharing your past and present.along with dreams of the future. I enjoy your videos as you find some beautiful vistas. Be safe and yes you look very happy. 💜💜💜

Both great gals, but not really a fair comparison. WH travels and sleeps in her 4 Runner but has a nice home base in Tecopa area. WH also has several hundred thousand subs so much more monetized. WJ is living the true nomad, no home base life which is much harder and challenging, so the mental stress can weigh on a person at times. Sarah is doing great with it though.

Having a few big items that I thought would make me have my happy life, I am finding out that it is going to cost me a lot of money and take away my happiness. I have actually sat down and ran numbers through my head for a while and finally figured that it is far cheaper to just have a vehicle with what you need

I feel like I could talk to you for days.

You’re saying, ‘minimalist’ and that’s a state of mind that’s closest to being good, to being in control at least.. as many of us have too much ‘going on’ that isn’t really going on, so much as distracting.
Glad you’re bob-tailing now ! Your accumulation of ‘stuff’ is, your experiences then turned to memories that fold up nicely into your being and smile. On the ball & mobile, as is everything on the planet, just not stuck with the inevitable ‘more stuff’ that makes minimalist happiness so hard to obtain, maintain and finance.. genius move, Jeepsy !

I lived out of a hand me down carry-on suitcase from birth to age eleven when my grandmother took pity on me and custody of me. I was a nomadic ward of the state of Missouri. Five decades since I've challenged/faced all abuses and traumas suffered through life. PTSD and the accompanying deficits to become somewhat healed and better caring fellow human being. I've been comfortable with Me since my mid fifties.
I regret that certain people believe They have a duty to dictate to others, not knowing them, how to go about their respective lives. From experience You're on a good path by engaging the self fulfilling requirements You need to become a "Better You." DON'T allow outsiders to dictate their respective thoughts and views on You. There's NO fellow human beings that will ever know more about you than You. ❤✊🏾

I enjoyed this video more than many. It was truthful and made sense.
I have a Hummer H2 that my wife and I travel in.
We are retired and have a six figure retirement income, a couple $hundredK in savings and investments, a nice home and we love to travel, in 2020 during THE PLAGUE, we took a 2 month, 8400 mile, 22 state, 12 National Parks and Monuments ROAD TRIP from Vegas to the Atlantic Ocean.
We debated buying a 40 foot motorhome, even looked at a few, but the work involved in moving it around the country, the extensive costs involved in just parking, moving, setting up, tearing down over and over again did not sound like much fun for us.
The cost of buying the motorhome was not an issue, we eat very well, do whatever we want, go wherever we want and at this point, we do not answer to any schedules or human demands.
Pretty much FREE of anything BINDING. BUT, a motorhome will not go to the places we like to go, towing the Hummer is hard on the Hummer towing a trailer with the Hummer is also hard on the Hummer as we found out the GM 4L65E transmission that came stock in the 2007 Hummer H2 is one of the worst transmissions in the history of GEARS.
I was told it was known for going out at 140,000 miles, mine began slipping at 147,000 miles, so I had it remanufactured to avoid a break down.
BIG WHEELS and TIRES will grind down your wheel bearings in 1/4 th the time as stock AT tires, so be aware of that... listen to grinding sounds when you turn left or right in a quiet parking lot.
So, we decided to do our Road Trip in our Hummer and when we needed a break which was every four days, we rented a hotel room, showered ate way too much food and crawled back in the Hummer and explored some more hard to reach places.
SO I UNDERSTAND THE BENEFITS AND LESS STRESS OF A SMALLER, MORE AGILE VEHICLE and though costs and expenses are not deal breakers for us, unless the economy totally tanks, we should be fine until they throw dirt in our faces, but... we were not always in the financial situation we are now, so we understand budgets and saving a dollar.
I am 69, wife is 66 and we "GET LUCKY NOW AND THEN... A LOT!" which is the epitaph contracted for my headstone.
YOU MADE A WISE DECISION based on YOUR situation and YOUR expectations.
KUDOS! Be happy and BE SAFE!
    dizeman.com/kong/kong.jandk.capehatteras.jpg
    dizeman.com/kong/texmexbordericestorm.jpg
I converted the inside of the Hummer H2 so there is plenty of sleeping space for two on a 4 inch Memory Foam mattress, there would be an excessive amount of room if not for the Truck Vault built into the rear of the truck to safely house $47,000 worth of Nikon Camera Gear. dizeman.com/kong/humcameras.jpg
I blame that on my 26 minutes in the Boy Scouts, they taught me to "BE PREPARED!" so I take everything I even THINK I might need. A hard habit to break.

Hey Jeepsy, it’s me again, you did the right thing, getting rid of the travel trailer, makes one not to move around a lot stay in a permanent location, understand your situation very well. Here’s my solution, purchase a motor camper trailer, very light, room to sleep and a good storage place. These campers are light, you won’t even know you’re pulling the trailer. Well this is my two cents for what it’s worth. My opinion you’re a much better looking girl than the other Sarah.❤

Have you ever seen the Runaway Campers Venturist? Has your type wheels, less than 1000 lbs, a box on wheels with an air conditioner. Could follow you anywhere. Less than $10k if I remember right. The smaller one is 4'X8' with about 45" of headroom. Just something to think about if you ever want a little more room in a go anywhere trailer.

Please never feel you have to or want to explain your reasoning for your decisions. I also fight Anxiety and Stress, so lessening your burdens are an awesome idea. But again it's your life live it to fullest. We don't make mistakes, we just sometimes need to take a different approach. This world demands that everyone fit in, that's not how I roll. Hope to see you down the trail..Peace and Much Love Everyone...

Live YOUR life your way. Not how others think you should. Those that don't know you, their opinion doesn't matter. Those that do know you and care about you understand and don't judge, but accept you the way you are.
    BE HAPPY !!!

Jeeps are pretty wide . I only have a 2 door but surprisingly I fit across because I'm short but I could actually sleep in it. It would be a little tight but I'm considering it .I'm just concerned about bathroom stuff.
