Such a great interview! Hoping Laine continues to do well despite the incredible cost increases over the last few years. Thank you also for sharing about burnout and mental health issues - so important to be aware and to take care of yourself!

In Canada, we are familiar with laine meaning wool in French because our labels are bilingual, English and French. As a Winnipeg Jets hockey fan where Patrik Laine was drafted, I knew the Finnish pronunciation. I recently purchased 52 Weeks of Socks, noticed it was a Finnish based company so the choice of pronunciation was an easy one. Did not know it meant wave.

The Laine magazine is exorbitantly expensive and unaffordable for most people with import costs to Australia at AU$52.00/€31.36.

Most individual patterns on Ravelry are sold for $8-10 a piece pattern. The magazine is packed with patterns, not to mention all the additional information. Of course it can be out of a budget for people, but so is yarn. One skein of hand dyed can cost as much.
