  • The idea for Loose Ends came about when the founders, Jennifer Simonic and Masey Kaplan, both avid knitters, realized they had a shared experience: Friends would often ask them to finish blankets, sweaters, or other projects left undone by deceased loved ones. They always do so enthusiastically, understanding what it feels like to wear something a loved one has made.
Loose Ends was established in May 2023 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit.

So proud of this organization. Our guild is promoting their materials to our membership and at our Knit in Public events.

What a great idea. I love the great work this organzatioin does and all the community helping. It is especially great to know it is an International endeavor. What I mainly gain from this interview is a motivation to finish long lingering projects, like this black crochet shawl, in many pieces, that needs sewing and end weaving. I should do that this summer on a sunny day ...

One of the good thing about this is the person finishing doesn't have the person connection. It took me a year before I could pick up a cross stitch my mil was working on when she died. I'm still finishing projects of my mum's. She died 3 years ago.
