This song got me into Fear Factory as a teenager.
Fun fact: even the story of Christ's resurrection is a retelling of a much older tale told by Sumerians of a demi-god born to a human woman and sacrificed in adulthood. Another fun Christ-like movie I like is Robocop.
Source that.
Probably based off Zoroastrianism, which is very similar to Judaism. It's more likely that it's just another interpretation of the story of Jesus
Much like how nearly everything in Christianity is taken from Paganism and other older religions. Easter eggs for example was taken from the Pagan rites of Spring and rebirth (hence Christians Easter bunny, eggs = new life and Christ coming back to life.) The fish hat the Pope sometimes wears also dates back to Paganism, 25th of December is a pagan thing...the list goes on! lol
Source that? It historical fact. The Sumerian stories are the best. Their first human was named "Adamu"... Weird one letter off from Adam. Christian stories are all ripped off. It's the last major religion to be invented, why would they all of a sudden be telling the truth?
@@apostleintriumph1758 Actually, Islam wasn't formed until 600 years after Christianity. So no, Christianity is not the last major religion to be invented. That is also historical fact.
Entire album is a masterpiece. A work of art.
My intro to FF. Can’t get enough of this album. Still listen to it regularly.
Can´t argue against it ;-)
AMEN TO THAT BROTHER
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
not one bad SONG on here
Love this album
Love this SONG
FEAR FACTORY 4 EVER. . .
@Big Homie Steve The Metal Head yeah these guys were the first band to cross industrial and death metal.
agree. Timeless, literally.
It's crazy to me how underrated FF are...I mean, their sound is so, so modern, so heavy, and this album is 22 years old, long before most bands sounded this heavy...plus Burton C. Bell's voice is so unique, so powerful on so many levels...They are one of those bands whose lyrical content, sound and whole concept complements each other so greatly
Songs like Scumgrief were YEARS ahead of their time
If you think Burton a powerfull voice don’t gonna see them live :D
@@EdwinvanKoppen In the 90s he did. I'm not what you'd call a huge fan but I love the debut and select few songs from their discography. Was pretty good when I saw them at a festival
My very first concert was the tour for this album with dope and static x. What a great show! Burton signing timelessness back then before his voice went was quite the experience
@@brendo9672 Indeed, Soul of a new machine was waaaay ahead of its time. In its essence a Death Metal album, it combined it with lots of industrial influences. This was very unique and many years ahead of its time.
They have been underrated and were ahead of their time!
FF were and still are the prophets of our now future. I had always and will always say that.
They sure we're and still are my good man.
I discovered fear factory back in 1993, they blew my mind. They still do.
I had heard bits and pieces of songs. My sister's boyfriend listened to demanufacture a lot. I was intrigued. Then I heard their cover of Cars and bought this album and that was it. To me the kind of declined a bit starting with Archetype, but came back real strong with Mechanize. Still one of my favorite bands.
PlantDesigns78 They will be always in the same bag with Pantera, Sepultura, Slayer
Obsolete, like most of Fear Factory's albums, is a concept album, but it's definitely one of my favorites. This is a closing song and leads into the true end of the album, so it's not the best or heaviest on the album, but it serves it's purpose. Either way, they're one of my favorite bands, so I was really glad to see this on Easter morning!
I like this the most on the album
Happy *Lich Jesus Day*
I don't think most of their releases are concept albums, are they? They all touch on a lot of similar thematic things, to be sure, but I thought only this and two of their newer ones are full-on concept albums. Edit: huh, I saw someone else mention Demanufacture and Digimortal as concept albums. Never occured to me they told a coherent story, but then again I haven't paid close attention to the lyrics since first heading them two decades ago, so maybe I knew and forgot...
@@radicalstanza3614 I remember them saying something about most of them not being concept albums
@@radicalstanza3614 This one literally is a concept album. The liner notes in the CD laid out the prologue for the story, and basically had written cutscenes between each song.
For me this Album is Fear Factorys Magnum Opus. Every Song of this Album is a Masterpiece.
Agreed.
I agree with you 100%. Everybody likes Demanufacture more but to me Obsolete is the album that defines that band.
Demanufacture for me but this album is a cloooose 2nd. Mechanize 3rd.
Fact:
One of the reasons my wife divorced me is because I listened to FF every day.
#FFforEver
His voice gives me goosebumps too, Vin.
I love how this goes straight into the hopeless dark night of the soul.
Showing it's not a happy ending.
My favorite Fear Factory song. Give me goosebumps as well each time I hear it.
This band is so underappreciated, even though so many bands we know and love today have been influenced by them. A lot of those bands with dual vocals got it from Fear Factory, and till date, few bands have a singer that does all those vocal shifts by him- or herself, making Burton C. Bell unique.
Hands down my fav Fear Factory song.
Fear Factory - Final Exit. PLEASE!!!!!
Yes! Such an amazing song. Among their best work.
FF DOESNT HAVE A BAD ALBUM THIS ALBUM LIKE ANY OF THEIRS CAN TOUCH YOUR SOUL!. Burton C Bell one of the best vocalist of all times none other can reach those notes and hey, beware with the lyrics, they sign about reality, check FEAR CAMPAIN!. FF forever!. Ty for doing this song!. Hope you do more FF
The guitarist Dino is a legend. Hes also the man behind the bands Brujeria, Asesino, and Divine Hersey
AdraTheMetalOutlaw he’s also a dick
ThePredator1110 he’s not a dick at all, I hung out with him before and after the Jasta and Friends show and he’s a funny and really nice guy
Shane Rosczewski With what happened with divine heresy
Love Vin's reaction! So genuine. Love early FF.
I haven’t clicked on a reaction this quickly in a while. Amazing concept album. Not really applicable to your belief in my opinion, because of what the album is about and because the singer obviously has disdain for it based on other songs, but a good a time as any to enjoy this amazing song.
Other songs I’d recommend:
Zero Signal, Replica, Invisible Wounds(Dark Bodies), Slave Labor, Archetype, Default Judgement, Christploitation, Final Exit, Recharger, God Eater, Deprived Mind Murder, Autonmous Combat System, Genexus, Church of Execution, Expiration Date, Enhanced Reality.
I know that’s a long list. They’re my favorite band. 🙂
I literally love every FF album!!! Burton is a genius!
Smasher Devourer is a gem !!
Such an underrated band, one of my favorite !
Dino cazares is the máster of riff
GUITAR GOD. DINO CAZERES.
one badass fuckin guitar player
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Met dino 5 different times. Super cool guy. Very nice. Signed my CDs
This album is amazing 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
Wow, my favourite Fear Factory song, so emotional, got chills, tears & smiled while listening to Vin react, thx guys you made my day, Happy Easter from Down Under
With the ribs is Demanufacture.
Best album EVER for me.
I love that album.
Got 5 versions of it.
This song from Obsolete is one of my favorites as well.
Fear Factory is my favorite band ever.
Live they arent always great though 😏
It's funny, this album was my first FF album. Such a great album and Edgecrusher was my favorite song from them. But Designing the Enemy off Mechanize is now my jam. Chills every time that breakdown comes in.
Fear factory is my all time fav too. Alice In Chains is up there but it doesn’t seem to have the same shelf life as fear factory does. You could play this for a uninformed person and say it’s new and they wouldn’t blink a eye. Alice In Chains maybe not so much
I've seen them a couple of times. Demanufacture is still my favorite album!
Oh man, Obsolete is such a great album. This brings me back to my High School days in the 90's.
Love this song. The first Fear Factory song I ever heard, and one that made me a fan.
My favorite FF album!!!!
This whole album kicks ass!
Love this song, my fav Fear Factory song easy
Got into Fear Factory in 1995, I still love them and this is one of my favorite songs from them. Burton Bell is one of my lyricists too. I think he was the first singer that I heard switch from clean singing and aggressive/harsh screams..Powershifter or Industrial Discipline next.
He was the originator of what now is done by all
This song have more of 20 years and still makes me cry. Excellent reaction and explanation of the lyrics. Congrats!
It's lovely seeing someone who loves FF as much as I do. Thank you for the smiles and feels.
I love this song. Zero Signal was the song that got me into Fear Factory in 1995. Heard it on the Mortal Kombat soundtrack then purchased the Demanufacture album shortly after. What an incredible record it was and still is. Obsolete still is too. Great band.
That's was an awesome reaction love Fear factory really enjoyed that one👍
Vin with the baby slobber on his shoulder. Classy af.
hhhh right
Lol!!
THANKS FOR DOING SOME FEAR FACTORY. WILL U PLEASE DO FEAR CAMPAIGN AND DEMANUFACTURE AND CYBERWASTE. ONE OF THOSE WOULD B AWESOME!!!
Love me some FEAR FACTORY.
OBSOLETE is my favorite album by them. Saw that tour twice. Kick ass show. Love this jam. Very underrated album too. Thank you for sharing this
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Happy Easter! Hope y'all have a great day. Thank you for posting.
this is the reaction i wanna see, when someones listen to fear factory! ...laughed my A** off
Burton's voice is amazing. Wish the band would put thier differences aside and reunite.
I'm so glad you're still showing FF some love! They deserve so much of it! They are such a great band!!
Wonder why FF never got big like Machine Head and all the other 90's bands.
Before I even watch the video, (gimme about 20 mins, heh,) I just want to comment, “HELL FREAKIN’ YASS, Fear Factory!!
They are one of those bands that I listened to way too much in middle school & high school, and hearing them again has that weird ability to pull me back to the person I was at that time-Earth Crisis is another one of those bands for me, (also, pre-Mechanical Animals Marilyn Manson.) It’s not a feeling of nostalgia so much as it’s this feeling of living memory.
Had to jump on the PC to comment. I love both of ya'll!!!! Keep rocking out brotha!!!!!!!!
Goosebumps every time.
Thank you so much for the Fear Factory review. Happy Easter Vin and Sori
Try Pisschrist off of Demanufacture album the lyrics would intrest you guys from one fellow Christian to another. FF is to modern day metal what Black Sabbath is to old school metal.
This was one of my best friends favourite songs he died in a motorcycle crash at only 23.. I love this song but makes me smile and cry at the same time.
I always get Goosebumps at the end of the song
I feel you VIn, amazing band. AN alltime favorite
My first FF album and the first song I learned how to put my Sony Walkman on repeat of one song! This song is flat out powerful. Their sound was ahead of their time too.
This is one of those really gold Fear FActory tracks. You should do more of them. Replica, or the whole demanifacture album \m/
This song got me through a lot. Sang to my soul.
Love fear factory. I've seen them in concert. It was epic!!
I'm feeling you Vin!! 🤘🤘🤘
I feel old now. This album came out when I was stationed in 29 Palms. Even guys who weren't into metal liked it when I played it full blast in the barracks.
I've loved this album for years. It took me a long time to fully appreciate it. Even met Dino at NAMM back in January. Really cool guy.
Damn it was cool to see someone enjoy this the way I did when I was 16 and it was released.. this song brings back such good memories
Awesome album Awesome band....still gives me chills
This song is a timemachine of our dreams and our memories .From 90s till today the soundtrack of our life !
Need to check out Zero Signal, Self Bias Resistor, Edgecrusher, Fear Campaign, and my favorite, Designing the Enemy. And just for fun, their cover of Cars
absolute quality goosebumps
One of my favourite, great band.
I’ve been waiting for such a long time for you guys to react to this song for such a long time. I’m so glad you did this version and not the radio edit/music video. *BUT...* how does Sori _not_ like this? I now have no clue how to determine what she likes in music. Was it just the “There was no god for me” bit?
Anyway, just out of interest; if Frodo is Jesus, does that make Sam St. Dismas?
I've seen people get this song title tattooed on them. Thats how much influence this song has on people.
8/10. Happy Easter
The next song after this is so different, too. The way it plays out is practically a cinematic (which was sort of the goal of this album).
literally top 3 FF song of all time. keep listening to this album.
This song is actually about the redemption of the Edge Crusher which is a character that Burton created for the concept of this album.
Happy Easter 🐰
This brings back so many memories. It's one of my all-time favorite albums, and the one that got me hooked on FF. I even had to copy my cd just to have one in my car too. Read the Wikipedia entry for the album for the storyline.
YES!
Fear factory was my fav band as a teenager lol. Loved to let my anger out with them. My first tat was "fear is the mindkiller"... he had some good quotes, he did get that from a book and seemed well read.
I saw them open for metallica in Melbourne 2012.
You should do slave labor or edgecrusher.
Love Fear Factory!!
I'm glad Vin liked this song.
One of my favorite songs of FF too. Despite the dark machine vs man theme of the whole album, this song has such a positive energy.
They were on their prime with Demanufacture and Obsolete. I was luck to see them live back in 1998 (with Spineshank), the Obsolete tour. Burton´s voice was fantastic and they just turned the whole venue into a broiling, sweating pit of super happy people banging their heads off. A fantastic night.
My favorite FF song is Martyr. You should review that song Sori will love the vocals. I have loved FF since 1992. I heard Soul of a New Machine when it first came out. It hooked me and I've been a fan ever since. Happy Easter.
This was fun.
These guys were so far ahead of their time!!!!!
oha, fear factory. havent listen to them for a looong time^^. i loved Demanufacture for quite some time.
Fear Factory are essentially a concept _band._ It’s all an exploration of transhumanism, and the reliance people have on technology. If I remember correctly, this album’s protagonist (I believe he’s the Christ-figure of that story, the Edgecrusher, correct me if I’m wrong).
The “remove my skin” line I think clearly refers to transformation or rebirth, much like a snake does.
Fear Factory is the shit. I was lucky enough to get into them in 3rd grade (1993), because of Zero Signal on the Mortal Kombat soundtrack. I remember thinking the double Bass couldn't be real. Never heard it before.
My friend got me in to fear factory when demanufature came out back in 95. Amazing album also 👌
Love this one, " Leechmaster" on "soul of a new machine" is a masterpiece by FF
Its crazy how current Fear Factory and Obsolete the album were so on point to the state of the world we are about to enter. Like a real life Twillight zone.
Another popular allegory is C.S. Lewis's The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.
Finally!!!!
*What the... #2:* Can it really be that this is only the 2nd Reaction to *Fear Factory* (1989-2002, 2003-2006, 2009-present) since the Reactions started on 30 March 2018, over two years ago? A band about which *Wikipedia's* source-referenced article starts, "Fear Factory is an American heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1989. Throughout the band's career, they have released nine full-length albums and have evolved through a succession of styles, including nu metal, death metal, groove metal, and industrial metal. Fear Factory was enormously influential on the heavy metal scene in the mid-to-late 1990s." Sadly, they have been in a legal clusterfrak since 2016...

Fun album. My fav track on Obsolete.
In deed he has risen
React to Slave Labor by Fear Factory
Got help me pour this gasoline!!!
VinAnd Sori That song and Powershifter are like The Bomb-diggity lol
Personally i can never not love Zero Signal the most.
Yes, it´s their 1st song i heard and yes it was in Mortal Kombat.
Great song:) finally a reaction to it:)
🤘💣💣💣 Great FF!
Obsolete is a concept album with a story written within the lyrics and the booklet. You really need to read and listen along to get the entire plot. There was no God for him because he is some sort of cyborg.
Nice Spit-Up on the shirt, Vin
Never mind you guys did react to it awesome reaction
Vin headbanging to Resurrection by FF is my religion :D
Yeah, that song slaps pretty damn hard
"Replica" from Demanufacture album. Great song!
The new stuff's good. I'd love to hear the commentary for "Battle for Utopia"
