Finding your personal style needs patience, confidence to experiment, accepting you may get it wrong but it’s part of the process. Being comfortable in what you’re wearing regardless of what others think💗

Mikai!! I define my style as hybrid. I love mixing two different styles and seeing the juxtaposition. Like street chic, preppy chic, fancy casual. It never gets boring!
I think my personal style has changed a lot since I started wearing clothes that suit my body type and accentuates the parts of my body and shape that I like, celebrating it instead of covering it up and trying to hide it because of unrealistic expectations and standards for my body. My style is normally a mixture of Japanese silhouettes and designs, streetwear, earthy tones and shapes, usually but I also love a pop of colour and some sexy kinda club wear looking fits like Ottolinger pieces. I’ve definitely always been someone that likes pieces that are classic and will work well with each other and stand the test of time. I think less in more in terms of patterns etc. ooooove using Instagram saves as a way to think about outfits and get inspiration.
i found my personal style when i created an actual ‘ethos? (idk the word😭) of what i wanted to convey and reference. i knew i loved the cultures, colours and textures seen throughout the diaspora and when i put more energy into wearing clothes related to that, it helped so much🥰
it also made the every day act of putting together an outfit so beautiful to me, like we’re continuing on history and honouring the femmes who wore the clothes before us🫶🏾
I remember when you posted a Q&A back in December and spoke on developing personal style. I’ve been doing what you said, not buying clothes until I see what I get a lot of wears out of and adding onto to that after a month or more!

Loved this vlog and looking forward to see your Paris finds. In terms of personal style, I have stopped shopping and started decluttering, I've started to make a mood board with Pinterest and look at cool good quality basics I can wear differently and build from.

I dont think I have found my personal style yet. I love watching/helping others be playful with silhouettes and colours but I don’t leave my home at all. The only time I leave my home is for work and I wear black from head to toe everyday. I've always loved fashion as a Textile Artist but never focused on what I wear. Maybe I need to leave my home more to find my inspiration. 🙃
I feel you. My friends also dedicate at least one work day a week where they put max effort into their outfit. That way, they found dressing up for work more fun and were able to incorporate their personal style into their work looks
No brows are cool! Maybe its not as shocking as they've been lighter for a while. But you look great and really felt what you were saying about friendships.
Always had the same personal style. Quite eclectic from young. My issue is that my taste has gotten more expensive, so I've been having a harder time turning over my wardrobe especially since I live in a full 4 season country. One step at a time. Love the little talk about friendship. Like I'll meet you where you are and vice versa and I won't take it personal. This is real life now, we have to invest in what invest in us (friendship wise)
watching you rewear your stuff and now I think about what I want and if I really need it like I cleaned my wardrobe and now I love the things I have because they work well together and I wear my clothes and I don't shop every time I need to go out
