I just received my weighted vest this morning and have been wearing it around my house all day. It got the 12 lb vest, looks like yours only it's black. I started the patch and progesterone pill in October last year. I am loving how much better I sleep. That alone has been worth it [starting HRT]. I got the Oura ring last spring to monitor my sleep and it shows me all the things! :) I am taking another stab at journaling as a "me time" hobby and as a way to express my creativity with my interests (ie: reading).
Thank you for sharing ❤ you have really helped me with my period menopausal journey. I’m young and probably started three years ago in my late 30s with this journey. I had no idea that I was perimenopausal ❤
BIG THANK YOU!!! My obgyn said I was too young to start going through menopause this was 6 years ago, today I'm 48 . I saw several other obgyn doctors. I had an oblation done for my periods, I gained weight and felt more like a failure, slept less than usual, then I was tired. My last obgyn said that since I wasn't having hot flashes and my blood came back normal I was fine. My sister in law told me that there is nothing wrong with me its just menopause. We are the same age and she told me to watch some of your videos, and thank you I have learned a lot. Will be looking for a doctor that specializes in menopause.
Thank you so much for all of your videos and interviews. I so appreciate the time you take to help, inform, and share your knowledge and experience on menopause. It's making a difference. I tell so many other women about your videos.
Thank you for all that you are offering. I wish there was more information and conversations about the HRT process to find the right balance. I have the hardest time finding what supports the heart flutters and gut issues. I get a rash from the patch and Protegrone that may be causing heartburn, and the cream is not helping the heart flutters. I feel alone in this part of the process and conversation.
I get the heart issues as well. Also my blood pressure shot up. I ended up stopping HRT cause I was afraid. But I really want to do it. I do put esterdiol cream in my Vagina and take progesterone. It's just when I do cream on my skin it gives me the side effects
@@lisamirabelle3050 Thank you for sharing. It can be overwhelming not knowing what is what and what to do. I'm trying to be patient during this process. I am so grateful for Dr. Clair Haver and the others discussing the benefits, but I sure wish there was more discussion of the process of finding the right balance. Because it's a thing! Wishing you the best.
Mad love & thanks to you Dr. Haver for freely sharing your routine with us. I've already incorporated the weighted vest & some of the supplements. I see my PCP in 3 days to push again for my referral to the menopause specialist & to begin my diagnostic journey to live my next best 40 years (I plan to live an amazing life of 98+ 🎉)
This is amazing! Thank you so much... I'm always working to find the balance between where I'm interrupting my own health by not eating right and movement prior to supplemental support and what's considered fundamental since I'm in this peri-meno transition. I'm currently building my flexibility and stability before going back into strength training because my body is reflecting that it might be too much to do weights (even though i LOVE it). It will come back soon as I reset my inner foundation.
4:49 I went through menopause at an early age and never was treated for it. Is it too late to begin HRT? What test should be done to confirm treatment of HRT?
I am 53 and my uterus was removed at age 36. I can’t remember when my symptoms started because I didn’t know there were other symptoms besides hot flashes. Please talk more about what you should do when you don’t have a uterus.
Dr Claire thank you for all your amazing help for women! ❤ Can you please let us know where you got your weighted suit to order? Yours seem so much better than I see online.
I also have lifelong dark eye circles. They are hereditary so nothing you do will ever get rid of them. I have tried so many lotions and potions to get rid of them and the only thing l believe helps is keeping yourself hydrated and keeping the under eye area moisturised. If it gets dry it looks worse. I would also suggest learning how to use a really good concealer under the eyes, it works wonders for mine. I use Lancôme tinted idole concealer, it works really well for us more mature ladies.
Dr. Mary Claire I have learned so much from watching your videos. I realize now that I am in perimenopause. I’m 48 years old and I’m trying to journal back to see what was my first symptom. Do you think limpomas are a symptom? I got my first one back in 2020. It’s between my breast and shoulder. If it is a symptom then that could mean I have been in perimenopause for 5 years. Wow mind blown
Dr. Haver you have been a godsend to me learning about menopause and getting help!! I noticed that a year ago you posted your Menopause routine, and you have now doubled your estrodial and progesterone dosage - was your prior strength not working well?
Thank you for sharing! ❤ I've just entered my Menopause and taking about the same amount of supplements wondering if my body can safely process all those capsules day by day... 🤔

Thank you for this video, I definitely took notes and made an appointment w a new obgyn who focuses on women’s wellness for those who are going through perimenopause and menopause. I’m interested in HRT and want to find out if I qualify to be on it. My question for you is do you ever get cravings for junk food? If so, how do you stop yourself from eating it? I do everything right, eg eating clean, lift weights 5-6x/wk, walk a lot, rarely consume alcohol, etc., but I get these cravings for junk food sometimes and it’s really hard to fight the urge and I find myself giving in and regretting it afterwards. If you have any advice, I’d appreciate it if you can share. Btw, I just bought your new book! Thank you again.
I noticed you take a 0.1 estradiol patch and 200mg progesterone nightly. I have a 0.075 estradiol patch and only take 100mg of progesterone nightly. How do I know that 100mg of progesterone is enough to protect against uterine cancer? What lab results values should I be aiming for in regards to progesterone? Or is it more about the balance between my estradiol and progesterone blood values? (Note- had a uterine ablation 10 years ago so no monthly bleeding)
Hi!! I asked my dermatologist for low dose oral minoxidil. She suggested vitamins (sold my the practice) and OTC topical minoxidil. She wanted to try less "invasive" efforts first. She said LDM could potentially lower blood pressure (or even raise it) She pointed out treatments of twice a month B12 injections, using platelet enriched plasma injections at $800 a treatment. I kinda feel like she might be suggesting $$ treatments that will benefit the practice. Am I reading too much into this?
That does sound suspicious. Maybe you should get a second opinion? For example, did she test your vitamin b12 before offering injections? You can get b12 pretty cheaply and usually injections I thought were only for if you had a severe deficiency.
That does sound a bit suspicious! I would talk to your regular physician and see what they say. I don't know if this is helpful to you or maybe someone else, but I've been using a red lazer therapy "brush" for close to 3 months, and I've got hair coming in like crazy! Apparently it stimulates the inactive follicles to grow hair again. Even my hair stylist commented on all my new growth! It's a little scary because it can cause hair to fall out a more at first, but they said that's a good sign, because it means the new growth inside the pores are pushing out the weaker strands, so I stuck with it and I'm glad I did. I had lost close to half my hair because of menopause and stress, and I already have fine-textured hair to begin with. I always used to have "thick" hair in the sense that I had a high *number* of strands (of fine hair) but I was really getting worried because I kept seeing more and more of my scalp, especially in the front, top and temple areas. You can't let it go too long, though... they have a chart with pictures that show you who it can work for and whose hair loss is too far gone for it to work, plus it came with a 6 month guarantee, so if you don't see results in that time you can get your money back. I kinda wish I had spent the money and gotten the "cap" instead of the "brush" because it's quicker and easier, but it was twice as much, and the brush wasn't cheap (around $250 on sale). I think, if I remember correctly, you only have to wear the cap for 90 seconds, 3 times a week, but I'm not sure on that. The brush you have to use for 8 minutes, 3 times per week, and you can't really do anything else at the same time except for maybe watch TV, because you're more actively involved in using it, rather than passive like the cap. It's not bad, but you know, sometimes you don't even have 8 minutes on busy days! I'll put the brand I got in a separate post in case it gets deleted, so this whole comment doesn't go with it. 😀 I hope you get results whatever you try! I understand very well how scary hair loss is!
I have listened to you on many podcasts. I have hbp and hdl is high. I am a 54 year old woman. I have been in menopause for two years. No issues I thought until listening to you on many platforms. How do I lower my job and hdl without medications. Does estrogen replacements help with that? I exercise all the time weights, walk, yoga, Pilates I also take my dogs for walks twice a day. Exercise is not my issue. Please help me I am so frustrated with myself I feel defeated.
You can try adding flax seeds and chia seeds to your oatmeal, smoothies or bran cereal. And eat grapefruit and oranges daily. I also take CoQ10 with my omegas at night to help lower blood pressure. Beets can help with blood pressure too. Also, adding cinnamon to things can help with cholesterol and blood pressure. I can’t use hrt’s because of breast and uterine cancer being in my family. So I use natural things.
Thank you for sharing your routine!! I have scoliosis, and really hurt myself when doing deadlifts because my lumbar spine is so unstable. I have found that I can use a weight belt with resistance weights to strength train my leg muscles and avoid spinal compression (YAY!). If I wore a weighted belt with 10% of my body weight instead of a weighted vest, would I get the same bone/muscle/balance benefits?
If it wasn’t for you I would of never have had the confidence to begin to pursue HRT. I’m 6+ years in and hope it’s not too late. Thank you for the tips and info! ❤
Dr. Haver, what is your opinion on cyclical HRT? I am doing 14 days w/o progesterone and 14 with, with very light discharge (I am 57) I feel good, just want to know if it is safe. My primary doc does not have an opinion on it. Thanks in advance
I'm wondering, about the weighted vest, does this have a negative impact on the discs in the spine?... I suffered a herniated disc many years ago (from long-distance running, impact on spine), and it was a long recovery, and I am very guarded with certain exercises that could affect my back, I keep things very gentle. Therefore, I have been skeptical of these weighted vests? Thoughts?...
Thank you for sharing! I have a question: you mentioned that progesterone is required. I finally found a GYN who prescribed Estradiol cream for me. However, she did not prescribe progesterone. Could you explain and direct to a resource where I can read about what happens when I only use estrogen with no progesterone?
The research shows the benefits of using a weighted vest are best when the weight of the vest is about 10% of your ideal body weight. ~ XO Community Support Team

You’ll have to double check with your doctor but another UA-camr I watch (wish I could remember her name) said she placed a waterproof bandaid over the patch when she swam. Otherwise it dilutes the strength. Ok for a shower but not full on soak in a tub or pool.
I'm an X-ray Tech, so I know a little bit about bones, but I'm not an expert in osteopenia/porosis, so with that in mind... I would think a weighted belt would not have the same benefits because, while it would probably help hip bone density, a weighted vest would have the DUAL benefits of helping both hip _and_ spinal bone density. I'm going to look into getting a vest myself. I've seen many, many spinal and hip fractures over my career, and I definitely don't want that to happen to me! 😢
U look 26! U look amazing ❤ I use oestragel 4 pumps And micronised progesterone 200mg vaginally as I've got a progesterone intolerance as ive always suffered from pms❤
Hello do you not take Testosterone? Just wondering your thoughts on it. I tried the pellets for 3yrs & I swear testosterone was way too high. I stopped all HRT & I’m miserable. I’m wanting to try it your way & do the patches but I see you didn’t mention Testosterone. It’s 10:39am & I’m on a cruise watching your videos🎉 lol
Testosterone was on the list. It is the pump she showed called Androgel. She is not a fan of pellets because once implanted dosing can be hard to control. ~ XO Community Support Team
I know that you can't answer questions. But I would like to know if you would explain why your skin looks so good...no wrinkles.... Is it because of the h r t?
Due to previous BC dx, I am not a candidate for HRT - or any hormonal product. I know there's a lot of ladies in this situation. Where do we turn for help!!??
Thank you so much! I am 54 post meno and really struggling with weight and sleep even on hrt..I use the same as you except for the testosterone gel, mine is pretty high naturally (non classic CAH). I went to refill my patches the other day (dotti) and the price went from 30 to 60 😮😢 can you please share what coupon you use to get them at that price?
I’m taking .05 estradiol and 100 mg progesterone. I’m 48. Menopause early. My estradiol lab still show I’m on the low end. My doc always says she’s afraid to up the estradiol bc I may have a period. Not sure what to do.
Thank you so much! I do have a question. I do also take estradiol but I take pill form 1 mg now I don't take the other progesterone think you called it now I don't have a uterus I had a full hysterectomy. Do I need to take that as well? I am 51 years old, almost 52
Why did you switch from Combipatch to Estrodial patch and Progesterone oral? I had a bad reaction to the oral progesterone like bad vivid dreams and anxiety so I switched to Combipatch after watching your UA-cam video 2 years ago. I have been on Combipatch for a year and feel great but it is expensive at over $200 per month.
What kind of doctor or tests should we take to find out what we are deficient? Where to start? Find a peri/meno speciality doctor? Or a testing service that can tell you? Thank you for your work!!
This exhausted me just listening to everything you do. 😢

The research shows the benefits of using a weighted vest are best when the weight of the vest is about 10% of your ideal body weight. ~ XO Community Support Team

Hi Dr. can I go in the pool with the estradiol pads?
Yep.
You’ll have to double check with your doctor but another UA-camr I watch (wish I could remember her name) said she placed a waterproof bandaid over the patch when she swam. Otherwise it dilutes the strength. Ok for a shower but not full on soak in a tub or pool.
I'd protect it with a waterproof bandage.
Wondering what weight you carry in the vest and if you had to start lower and build up?
How heavy do you lift?
Are there any videos that you follow?
You didn't mention your turmeric supplement. Do you also take that? If so, when?
I did see a video recently, where you said you also do take M4 estrogen face cream from MyAlloy. Do you still take that with above suggestions?
I read in another comment that she does still use it.
Would a weighted belt have the same benefits as the vest???
I'm an X-ray Tech, so I know a little bit about bones, but I'm not an expert in osteopenia/porosis, so with that in mind... I would think a weighted belt would not have the same benefits because, while it would probably help hip bone density, a weighted vest would have the DUAL benefits of helping both hip _and_ spinal bone density. I'm going to look into getting a vest myself. I've seen many, many spinal and hip fractures over my career, and I definitely don't want that to happen to me! 😢
U look 26!
U look amazing ❤
I use oestragel 4 pumps
And micronised progesterone 200mg vaginally as I've got a progesterone intolerance as ive always suffered from pms❤
I read on Androgel website that it's not meant for women.
You said you lift heavy ? What would that look like ? Are you at 200 pound squats or 100 Pound bench press ?? What is heavy to you ?
Thank you! Are there any difference for post menopause symptoms between estradiol
patch and estradiol vaginal inserts? Why progesterone needed?
is minoxidol pill better than cream ?
What do you think/know about Tibolone?
minoxidol is covered by insurance how /?? by a dermatologist or
I have an HMO. I pay $649 a month. Maybe she has a PPO
Curious why your collagen has “natural flavor”? A nutritionist told me that is basically another way to say highly processed. True or not true?
Is it okay to keep the estrogen patch in the fridge?
What does the package insert say in the "Storage and Handling" section?
Try GoodRx!
@maryclairehavermd8473 thank you so much!
If you don’t have a uterus you don’t need to take progesterone
Why did you switch from Combipatch to Estrodial patch and Progesterone oral? I had a bad reaction to the oral progesterone like bad vivid dreams and anxiety so I switched to Combipatch after watching your UA-cam video 2 years ago. I have been on Combipatch for a year and feel great but it is expensive at over $200 per month.
How do I know if I need the patch?
What kind of doctor or tests should we take to find out what we are deficient? Where to start? Find a peri/meno speciality doctor? Or a testing service that can tell you? Thank you for your work!!
Lab work.
Read her book The New Menopause. She goes over everything in detail. Life changing for sure.
What dosage Minoxidil do you take? Thanks
The bottle showed it was 2.5mg
I‘ confused: the package of your Progesteron shows 1 daily. But you take two?
@T.Hofmann it shows 100 mg tablets, but she takes 200 mg. Daily, so that means she takes 2 tabs.
