  • Went fishing with an assortment of hand-tied hair jigs for Sac-a-lait and Bream in the Louisiana swamp. Caught some Sac-a-lait (crappie) and Bream (bluegill) both with hair jigs and worms.

    Good video, glad no gators were in the area when you flipped. Nice catch of fish.

    Great recovery! Glad all was ok for you and very awesome to regroup and end up catching some good ones! Well done again.
    Darn these storms every 3 or 4 hours making it tough to get out there. I like to fish for 6-8 hours and just no chance almost now.
    Good luck ahead!
    See you out there soon I bet.

      Looks like rain for next few days, hard to plan a trip. I was happy to find some nice ones, crazy how much the water has dropped. That fall was good practice for if it ever happens again, hopefully never 🤞🏼. Thanks for watching and good luck to you!

    Oh wow ! I flipped out the boat in December of 23’ , we hit a huge cypress stump that was submerged. Lost my balance and hit my lower leg on front the boat 3inches on top my ankle . Ouch! That bruise lasted for 4 months !

      I was so used to looking for the stumps sticking out the water, not those submerged ones. Glad it wasn’t worse for you but still sounds painful. I hurt my shoulder getting in, couple days later I had to go to the doctor to make sure I didn’t break anything. Nothing on X-rays, just sprained. Thanks for watching

    Looking for a place to take my grandson brim fishing from my kayak-where do you launch? I live in Luling and don't mind the drive to Henderson.

      @LaYakFishing  Місяць тому

      @@stevejohnson5062 I usually launch at Kerns but too many weeds for a kayak right now. Use Atchafalaya basin landing. They even have bait inside. Crickets, worms, etc. Good luck!

    Those new boots got an early test from you, hopefully nothing hurt or lost. After seeing the gators early in the vid, that would be scary! Terrific multi-species day out on the water, should make for some good eating. Had a look at the boots, but they don't ship to Australia, but nice looking and a very good price. Well done and keep up the great work!

      Nothing was lost, but I did end up spraining my shoulder a little bit. I felt it a couple days later. I instantly thought of gators when I fell in. Sorry to hear they don't ship, thanks for checking it out anyway Larry

    That’s an awful feeling falling I like that. It’s very stressful! Looks like you seabed everything ok. Nice looking mess of fish you got though! Good one buddy! 🐟🎣🐟🛶

      Yea, caught me by surprise. Didn’t realize being on top of it would make the kayak even more unstable. Cooled me off though. 🥵

      @@LaYakFishing that makes sense! How do you mentally deal with the constant gators? I’ve found they don’t bother you if you give them space but it still creeps me out lol

    Whats to panic about in alligator infested waters! lol I flipped my 12ft pro angler and everytime I tried to get back in it flipped over again due to the side rails being so high! you must be a light weight fella!

    • @LaYakFishing
      @LaYakFishing  7 днів тому

      I wasn’t far from where I spotted that morning alligator by the launch too. They had some underwater stumps I think my foot got ahold of, and it was still hard from the side. Next time maybe I won’t panic so much and re-enter from the backside the right way lol.

    • @LouisianaBlackwaterFlyFishing
      @LouisianaBlackwaterFlyFishing 5 днів тому

      @@LaYakFishing I made a rope chain for getting back into the pro angler from the back. you were lucky in deep water its almost unlikely to enter from the sides due to the high rails. I flipped in blind river next to some big aligators and they just watched me struggle to get back in, I had to swim to shore to reenter because of my ice chest in the back.
