Legend of Zelda's most infamous adaptations, the CD-I trilogy and the DiC Cartoon series throw their iconic heroes against each other in a battle of the rejected incarnations of the Hero of Hyrule. Will the hero of Koridai win this battle for a kiss, or will Hyrule's excused saviour get a kiss from his princess instead?

I love how CDI Link is constantly referencing his original game's dialogue while Cartoon Link is constantly speaking with those saturday morning cartoon quips, the entire episode was super charming.

This is my first time catching a Not DB and I have to say I really appreciate all the effort that went into the research and debate, as well as the animation. You wouldn't expect this much genuine passion from a parody a lot of the time.
As for the episode itself, I'm shocked at how genuinely close and multifaceted the debate was here. All the dialogue was really entertaining and their powers were used in really interesting ways, I really didn't see the bell coming at first.
Really good stuff! I'm definitely gonna check out some more of these, I hope you do Zelda vs Zelda sometime

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm actually hyped for this fight. No matter who loses, the rest of the Zelda Community and the world as a whole wins.
Edit: I loved this episode. It had good characterization and writing. The animation went surprisingly hard, and the research and conclusion were about what I expected. The voices for both were also pretty spot on, but with these two, idk if that's a good thing or not 😂.
The writing and action in this episode were really good. Action was way more solid than I was expecting, and I loved those cheesy one-liners and Cd-i Link’s obliviousness.
Watching this live was absolutely incredible, the fake outs genuinely got me and while I was sad to CDI Link lose, the animation was so expressive and funny that i just had an absolute blast. Sharpie vs Highlighter has no reason to go as hard as it does and I'm hyped for that when it comes out. Both you and Whoand clearly put your all into this and I can tell you it was so worth the final product,

Automatic 10/10 episode.
Besides a Battle Royal with 5 or 6 versions of an actual Link, this is one of the few alt version fights I wanted to see for Link and this did not disappoint. Honestly was surprised that DiC Link had a lot of bad ass moments and cool sounding feats where as CDI Link....was pretty expected where you had to give more leeway and examine stuff to make him more impressive. Also didn't think some stuff that is now a staple of BotW/TotK would have its start in the DiC cartoon with shield surfing and bomb hopping. Definitely made me find the DiC Link more impressive and interesting. I think my favorite part of this is that CDI Link sounds almost wimpy while DiC sounds like a meat head jock which really fits him.
The only flaw I'd give this is I think DiC Link should have had the taller, more masculine sprite while CDI had the more cartoony, dopey looking one. The taller one with some alterations I could see as DiC Link while some alterations to the short one I could see looking pretty good for CDI. At first, and this is probably me being dumb, I thought the tall one was DiC Link and was confused why his sword was so long when you made constant jokes about it but again, could just be me being dumb.
All around, this was a good video of a matchup I'd love to see and you did really well with it. Honestly don't even want DB to touch it because it'd be more condensed, they'd likely just make the same jokes but likely not as funny and come out as forced and they likely wouldn't make much mention of either Link being thirsty because they seemed to have really turned down Boomstick's pervertiness so instead would go on some tangent about nice guys or incels or something. All in all, with maybe some rough parts of this video ironed out, I think you honestly did this matchup way better than DB could ever do it, if they ever did because at this point they'd only do what's more popular, big and current.

CDI Link vs. Cartoon Link Breakdown (specifically the reasoning on why Cartoon Link won)
While CDI Link can heal himself, has a one-shot option, has better ranged options, has similar speed to Cartoon Link and has some similar equipment, there's not much he can do. Cartoon Link can get around the one-shot or shoot CDI Link before he can use it, and his deflector shield can send back all of CDI Link's ranged options, forcing him to right at close range. However, with Cartoon Link's greater AP, durability and skill, Cartoon Link would have the edge, even if they used their strength increasing equipment.

Out of curiosity, why did you decide Zelda's Adventure and Captain N are canon to their respective Links? Aside from being made by the same companies, I can't see much connection between them and their source material just looking stuff up. Hell, Zelda's Adventure was made by a different developer.
Although this wouldn't really change the outcome, given Zelda's Adventure had the strongest feat CD-i Link could possibly scale to while Captain N was supporting evidence at most.
I'm just curious. Was it just to have more to review than a single game and thirteen fifteen-minute episodes?
