This soundtrack and film were Ground Zero for me. I had always loved my alternative music and film. High school, for me, was very conformist and conservative. I saw "Pump Up The Volume" at the start of my final year. It taught me that it was okay to be a misfit. The rest of the year, if anyone gave me shit about anything, I would scream "SO BE IT!" at them. Love this soundtrack, film and The Pixies till the day I die! Thanks for keeping me fucking sane all of you!!!
I LOVED this movie when it came out, watched the DVD of it yesterday, the first time I'd seen it in years. The movie is a little dated now (as this was before everyone with cell phones or the internet) but the scenes between the characters still hold well, as does the music!
this was such a bad ass soundtrack and still is one of my favorite movies. i used to actually use the online sign on name in tribute to this movie... harry hard on lmao few people ever got the reference but still
i remember hacking wit a Tandy mainframe and a dial jack modem vampire tapped to my neighbors phone line. :)) every time i hear this song or see the movie.

+brendonwife Please give it a second try. Right off the top of my head, without looking it up I can think of Rollins, Peter Murphy, Cowboy Junkies and Above the Law. I thought it was fantastic!
I saw this movie when I was 17. It rocked my world. The soundtrack (and this song in particular) still give me the chills.
This movie is so underrated! Its a shame, class flick...
This version of wave or mutilation is better than the original, for mine.
This whole soundtrack was PERFECT.

The underlying message of the movie is still true: "being a teenager sucks but surviving it is the whole point."
This movie is a metaphor for life...

Love! Heard it on Pump Up The Volume; easily the best song in the movie. Sadly the rest of the soundtrack isn't nearly as good.
+brendonwife Please give it a second try. Right off the top of my head, without looking it up I can think of Rollins, Peter Murphy, Cowboy Junkies and Above the Law. I thought it was fantastic!
