The fact that the entire comment section is movie quotes, just shows how iconic this movie is, to the 7 of us who have watched it.

I love the Movie :)
Greatest movie ever made if there’s a god he will suck Christian Slater off at the gates for his performance in this classic
I'm dedicating this unusual song to an unusual person who makes me feel kind of... unusual.
:) Love the Movie :)
This is the only comment this song needs! Kudos Logan.
I'm not sure, why UA-cam recommended this video to me. But this was the 1st thing that came to my mind, even before I clicked it.
Hahahah!! Such a great quote!!
This is, bar none, the sexiest song about being alone. Ever.
Powerful song very cool
It’s definitely a seduction type song. The kind from early 90’s movies where you saw the girl climbing all over the guy & holding onto his tie as she slid down him.
@ Stephanie Wozny-
Steph- And yet I cry every time I hear it.
But also- you are 100% correct.
When I was a teenager in the 90s I think I watched this movie 50 times. In my early 20s I finally bought the soundtrack. Now in my 40s I still listen to this soundtrack often. Talk Hard.
And steal the air ✊
Talk Hard👍😆My Voice!🎤
I hear you there, watched it again earlier this year, and at least once a year. The message is even more important today than it was then 👊 #TalkHard
shouldn't it be the "Happy Harry Hardon Edition"?
I sat through the whole film at home holding up my tape recorder, trying to stop in between song. Ultimate diy soundtrack 😂
“If I knew about love, I’d be out there making it instead of talking to u people” -HHH
*”Come to me...or I’ll come to you“*
💋🔥
eat your cereal with a fork and do your homework in the dark...
The national anthem for the lonely.....myself included.
May as well include me as well.
I listened to this a lot in high school. It was probably the best time in my life to discover this movie and not just this song but the whole soundtrack as well. I was a teenager in the early 2000s.
Everyone I knew was all in relationships. Meanwhile, I'm standing off in the back leaning against a wall, having their happiness flaunted in my face. It seemed like when two relationships fell apart, the couples who broke up just swapped partners and continued to flaunt their happiness in my face.
21-22 years later, nearly everyone of them has gotten married and continue to flaunt their happiness in my face. Meanwhile, I'm just walking away as they tell me to look at them and look at how happy they are like they all did all those years ago.
“Fill the air, steal it, but keep the air alive”
"Talk hard!"
Can you believe this isn’t available on iTunes
Or Amazon, I have to come here to listen lol
Or Spotify!
It's a fucking disgrace
Song is a masterpiece
Talk Hard!
I randomly discovered this at the beginning of the pandemic when I was bored and searched “obscure coming of age movies.” I love this song and the movie too! It’s so underrated!
Not "coming of age", but criminally underrated - Joe vs. the Volcano. It's one of my top 3 movies of all time.
I 'm 48 and loved this movie.I have the cd.why can't i fall in love and everybody knows are my favourites!
"the fits hit the shan"
Hey poetry lady, are you really this cool?
It is one the sexiest pieces I've ever heard!
SO BE IT!
“You could be my someone, You could be my scene.” That line is so romantic! I’ve never really heard the word, “Scene,” used in that way. Very sweet!😊
Absolutely underappreciated amazing movie, love it
This is one of my favourite movies, after just watching it for the first time tonight. As a nineteen year old struggling with the same issues as the main character, this movie hit me hard in a good way. Right now is the bottom but it's only up from here.
👊
I am SO glad this movie still resonates with new audiences. I was 14 when it came out and it got me through some dark days. And the soundtrack is ❤
Jam me, jack me, push me, pull me, talk hard!
Talk hard!
The truth is a virus :)
"I like that. Talk hard. It's like a dirty thought in a clean mind."
Why isn't this movie better known? I don't get it..
Underappreciated, underestimated and one of those cult classics that you only know about it if you kind of follow who's in it.
same
Its weird i mean the simpsons even made a parody in one of the good old episodes it should be more known
Ricky Fort Really? I have to watch that!:))
FlickCoin Wild barts cant be broken season 10. It isnt a direct parody though
This and the movie are underrated gems 💛
So many people
Come walking by
Looking so happy
While all I do is cry
I just want to be
With somebody too
What I'd give for a kiss
What am I gonna do
Why can't I fall in love
Why must it, it seem so hard to find
Why can't I fall in love
I know she's out there waiting
So why, why can't I fall in love
Hey now I see
It's always been me
I thought I was deaf
In my misery
It's time to get real
And change where I'm at
But the same old questions
Keep following me back
Why can't I fall in love
I know she's out there waiting
It's time to fall in love
And let her know
Just how I feel
Give it up
Or give it all
Something tells me this can't be real
I know she's out there waiting
It's time, it's time
Why can't I fall in love
Why must it, it seem so hard to find
Why can't I fall in love
I know she's out there waiting
It's time, it's time
Why can't I fall in love
Why must it, it seem so hard to find
Why can't I fall in love
I know she's out there waiting
So why, why can't I fall in love

Thank you😉
Loved this scene! So hot.
This movie is full of great quotes, and a lot of them are already listed. Here's one that I didn't find but it is as good as all the others.
"You don't have to talk. You don't have to say anything and you don't have to do anything........unless you want to."
i think a true real person thats humble will give anyone this choice. When it comes to loving someone this can be a sign of respect to your loved one or be a mystery in keeping the surprise of attraction you both have for one another.
Oh this film is not only good but the message is still relevant today, even more so!
TALK HARD!
Great movie.
Am I the only one who has made this their life theme song?
Yes.
love this movie
This song got me through high school in the early 2000s.
I had no one of my own in my life like everyone else did. I had to see everyone so happy, to the point I nearly wanted to cry.
21-22 years after discovering this movie and song, nothing has changed. Everyone is still happier than me, and I still don't have someone of my own in my life.
"But the same old questions keep rolling back. Why can't I fall in love?"
This is by far one of my most favorite movie scenes ever. Showing my age here but I’ve always loved Christian Slater. I can just feel that awkward sexiness lol
It's ok to show our age. The movie taught us that ;)
It's a great movie
TALK HARD!!!!!!!
Such a freaking dope bassline.
If you don’t know this movie,, This soundtrack.. your missing out!! My favorite since it came out!!!
When I was younger I saw a Trailer for Pump Up The Volume on one of my many hundreds of VHS tapes, because it was a trailer for video it had the goofy voice over and it was made to look like another cheesy comedy. Recently it entered my head again after I read an interview with Christian Slater so I found and watched the film. It was fucking awesome. I guess the best thing about this film fading into obscurity is that people actively have to discover it and are rewarded for doing so.
Glynn Thomas Actually just watched this movie for the first time tonight... As a nineteen year old sort of struggling through the same shit as the main character, this movie actually hit me hard in a good way. I know this comment is 4 years old but you're right; you do get rewarded for finding these sorts of classics. This is one of my favourite movies now.
I still have it on VHS 😉
This song is so unbelievably sexy...
Well said💜
I saw this movie like some 30 something years ago. I went out the next day and bought the CD. Gave a heap away recently..... except for this one. I am buying a CD player right now. Thank you for bringing back such awesome memories of such a great movie, and the most amazing soundtrack!
@jdroan-
“CD?”
Hell, I have it on cassette!
Ditto ‼️😂
@@patmcpee So do I!!!!
Such an underappreciated movie!
I did not forget this good film "Pump up The Volume (1990) with this song! I can't buy it because i did found it!
Here's real music💯🔥🔥🔥🔥
So be it, this movie means a lot to me cause I know what this movie talks about and it's really deep and really meaningful. That's it am done stick a fork in me.
Quitting will not make you strong... Living will.
This was the song I wanted to hear 25 years later🤘🏼
We all need to Talk Hard. What a movie. The quiet before the storm. Questions being asked. Pump up the Volume is a true gem. Thanks CS.
This tune has a funky blues sound that makes you want to gyrate to the beat. Whole soundtrack I'd awesome but this song Is a gem alone!
This movie should be mandatory and the score by Cliff Martinez is mind-blowing
amazing songs never need to be explained ... just loved 4ever. SO BE IT!!!!!!!!
My number plate ;)
Fell in love with this song, the movie and Christian Slater. I bought the soundtrack and listened to it everyday.
I'm having the 80's flashback fever........
Elvista77 another good one of his from that decade Gleaming the cube great skater movie for that era
holy crap I thought I was only one that remembered his skater film luv ya for knowing that
90´s?
Cornelius Schwarzenstein It came out in 1990, so still pretty much the ‘80s lol. And I believe the director was Canadian and the ‘80s lasted here until like 1992
tony hawk drives the Pizza Hut truck in that movie! King of skating leads everyone down the hill at the end!
Best movie ever
Brilliant soundtrack!!!👏👏👏👍🔥
All I remember about this movie is this song.... Got me through hard times as a teen... Women were so cruel and mean back then. Now I sing the hell out of this song.... Can't find it anywhere but here though....
I concur.
I listened to quite a bit of metal through high school, but when I was down in the dumps because I was pretty much the only single guy in my high school (for all the same reasons you listed), I listened to this song multiple times a day just to get me through.
Now, 19 years after high school, I'm still listening to this song for all the same reasons.
Take cover Arizona !
“I like that, talk hard.”
Such a talented family...the Nevilles. ⭐
Watched this again yesterday. It never ages.
I loved this movie, and I bought the soundtrack just for this song
One of my top ten favorite movies and one of the best coming of age movies out there. Great soundtrack as well. Saw this in the movie theater when it came out.
That be some baby making music right there!
Love the movie, Love the soundtrack!
Am 19 years old and kinda related to this song.
2023 and still talking hard ✊🏻 but where's my eat-me-beat-me lady? 😢
Legit lmao my friend! Thank you for that! 😂
This song describes me in every way.
I randomly came across this movie after a suggestion from reddit. I have to say it hits deep and it is an amazing movie. Love the story and the soundtrack.
Trying to get my son to watch this movie, he is totally Christian Slater's character, think he would really connect with this move and the music. I loved this movie in high school.
This soudtrack is an invitation to dicover the meaning of music
The movie that changed my life.
I was 13 years old when I frist watched it.
Life in High in
School it's when it all starts really changing
I love it! TALK HARD!
Generation 2000 also listening this masterpiece✌️🙏
I searched our paid cable streaming service for this movie. While I have definitely seen a pattern in which titles are free vs which movies must be bought or rented. This movie is NOT available period! I had to use my UA-cam Premium account to find it, and it was broken into 17 clips! You can’t tell me that somebody absolutely does NOT want folks watching this film!! I can’t imagine why, lol!!👌🏼✌🏼Fantastic movie - should be played in every History classroom in this country imo. And the quote is, “Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” George Santayana, 1905.
I try to introduce this movie to all generations of people. The messages are important and universal.
This movie and soundtrack were an ENORMOUS part if my fall and winter '91. It wasn't a huge hit bix office wise, but we all knew this film and its music.
Absolute classics.
damn this truly is legendary
This movie IS so good
Good memories!
Keep return adolescent
I was like him!❤😂🎉😢😮😅😊
I see that "Pump Up The Volume" brought u here, greetings from Poland, nice film, lots of good music in there
Love this and the movie so good
lv this movie, and still have this soundtrack !
Lady Lanfear Me too.
You should get the film score by Cliff Martinez. Its his best work i think..along with Sex, Lies and Videotape 1989. You may have to download his work on Pump up the Volume. I found it a couple years ago and downloaded it. Its all that great background music playing like the scenes when he was talking to Malcolm before he killed himself and when he talked about serious things on his station. Simply incredible music score. The soundtrack of course is great too
I had the cassette. 😁
great soundtrack and a pretty good movie
I love this soundtrack and film
This song is sooooo hot. Still love it!
Yes this is a brilliant movie. Talk hard. To the generation wanting to be seen
Fantastic song from a fantastic underrated movie...this scene was played out perfectly with song. PUTV!
I was in the ARMY back when this came out. NW girl put in South Carolina and on weekends if you were good you got to select Sunday music while cleaning barracks. Believe me they all got upset when I would choose this soundtrack.
and what's so wrong with feeling unusual...what's usual?
Ivan Neville is a bad ass!
Hard to watch the movie any more. Seen it 50 times but just puts me in a funk.
But damn what a movie
great film and better song.
this song smells like cigars
Did you ever get the feeling that everything in America is
completely fucked up. You know that feeling that the whole country is like one inch
away from saying 'That's it, forget it.' You think about it. Everything is polluted. The
environment, the government, the schools you name it.
I'd give anything to spend a month in those 80s when music was good and when 'going out' was smt to look forward to. And now only trash music and no friendship like in those days.
Went to my neighborhood library and yes this movie was there haven't saw it years but omg it was so good to watch it , I've always thought Christian Slater a cutie enjoyed watching him again . Great song . Got me feeling good this early morning.
"Being a teenager sucks, but surviving it is the whole point!"
I raised my kids with that same logic. Hard Harry speaks the truth! 😎
chills... fuckin narley
So I search for this song, and apparently in reading the comments I had the same reaction 8 years ago..
how have I only now found this great musician?
I still have the cassette tape of this soundtrack🙂
there is no song out there like this...there is no movie that brings home the truth of what it is to feel like this...Love the movie...love the song and the mood it inspires...for me..
Love this song! Brilliant film.
