If these panels come as a proper roller blind kind of stuff and can be mounted on French windows, there will be a huge demand...

That would be cool and I expect one day they will get there. These CIGS panels are very impressive but they don't have that tight of a turning radius yet (at least that I know of).

How tight a radius bend? Nice video.

Thanks! I would have to measure the box it came in (assuming that is close to the tightest radius) but from memory it was like 12 inches or so. It’s nice to be able to roll it back up to store in the box if needed.

Have you seen (or have) these thin film panels before? If you have them, what do you think?

The dimensions they sell are just not nice for my project. I'd rather see these in the renogy 200w flexible panels dimension. But these CIGS are larger because less efficient. That's the only downside. Other than that they seem great. I guess you could overlap these panels to some degree to fit the footprint required. But that just hurts with the price tag.

Seems like a great product, but if I installed the adhesive tape version on the top of my truck cap, I would be concerned about wind resistance blowing it off the cap. Have you or has anyone tested this in the real world?

Yes, I drove about 5,000 highway miles this summer in my RV with 6 of these on the roof and they didn't move at all. The adhesive is strong and there is a lot of it.

How tightly can we roll that ? It would be interesting if I could attach it to the top of my roll up tonneau cover on the back of my pickup truck. And, still be able to roll it up small.

They can be rolled up pretty tight. I don't think they want you to roll it up more than the way it comes in the box. So I would need to measure but I'd say the 200W panel was rolled up in about a 12 inch by 12 inch box. You do need to keep the same roll direction (solar cells outward). They are flexible enough to use them and then roll back up to put back in the original box. Hope that helps!

@@solarguy it would need to roll into a 3" tube.

Unfortunately, I don't think you'd be able to roll even the 100W that tight.
