That was a sad tale. I enjoyed the story and the beautiful scenery. You do a great job of keeping the history alive. This young man isn't forgotten.

I've been having an issue with getting in the mindset to actually edit footage, hopefully this has done it, I have SO much researched and filmed lol 🔜

@Exploring Scotland's History it happens. I don't think folk realise just how much work goes into videos with stories behind them. Take your time. I'll still be here, looking forward to whenever you post x

What a sad story of this young man Edwin, who was murdered. Lovely video and presentation. Sad for the Man who pleaded innocent and ended up in an Asylum.

Thanks for watching! The other chap's fate was unfortunate indeed, though his behaviour would have indicated his guilt. He had so many opportunities to behave in the interest of Edwin, and didn't. There are, even today, folk who believe John Laurie was innocent. My personal opinion is that he wasn't 😑

Another really interesting video. I vaguely remember hearing about this story before. Certainly a tragic tale for such a beautiful place.

If you are ever near Peterhead Prison Museum, there's a lot of info there. A horrid outcome ...

@A Scottish Odyssey It's on my list for the Aberdeen area, unfortunately Martin isn't a fan of the area so I will need to use all my charm to lure him that direction 😀 😉

@@ExploringScotlandsHistory I do need to get up to Aberdeenshire, and spend some time exploring the area. There's so much to see up there.

Did you visit his grave in the cemetery on the Glen Sannox cart track? It is a large boulder and would have concluded your video nicely.

No time unfortunately. It was on my list, but the heat was shocking and we had limited days on the island.
