Why do people insist on embracing the slavery legacy rather than any of the positive legacies left by successful black people who have made it? Because only one is a blame game, the other would be a solution to a decades old problem. There was nobody telling the Brits or those of coastal Europe they were still slaves after they'd fought off the pirates and slavers. They were told to buck up and work harder, or the King would be pissed and their family would starve.
African Americans have the Democrats telling them ghost stories of the plantation and how Republicans want them back there. It's sad that so many still believe it.

The use of logic is necessary in engineering. Don't bring Boeing into this conversation - they stopped listening to the engineers long ago. I became worried about Boeing with the 777 when I learned that they wanted it to be an "international" plane and wanted to build portions in other countries to help those economies in hopes of getting those government owned airlines to feel a loyalty to Boeing. FFS they had to build a plane to FLY the fuselages to the US. That is sort of an important part - well every part is important. But yeah, the quality control is where I was worried. Turns out, I wasn't crazy. The fuselages was an example. I recognize that Japan has a history of good quality control. I just remember a documentary several years ago about the 777 and/or the 787 specifically wanting to be an international plane.
I also do recall how Boeing was left off the hook by Japan after a crash, which was Boeing's fault. Anyway - didn't mean to make this about Boeing. Ha ha ha. I ended up with more disclaimers about something that was meant as an offhand example. Ha

I come from a long line of poverty stricken cotton pickers, my own grandma and grandpa worked the fields, picking over 80 pounds of cotton a day. Through my grandparent's diligence and strong work ethic, they were able to make it to a comfortable middle class lifestyle. Same for my parents, dad worked multiple jobs and would volunteer for overtime, while my mom studied and toiled to slowly work her way up the corporate ladder despite never having had the opportunity for college. We didn’t get advantages, we didn’t qualify for government help due to being white, we lived paycheck to paycheck, and I remember months where we could barely afford stovetop ramen. It wasn’t easy, but the success I enjoy was because of hard work and perseverance, not a single bit of it comes from the myth of white privilege.

      I agree.
My Grandmother was Choctaw and my Grandfather was Cherokee. They were poor sharecroppers too. Their families left the reservation in Oklahoma the moment they could get away after their families had been part of The Trail of Tears from Georgia to Oklahoma. They never finished school. My Grandmother had my Mother, her first child, and she was back in the field working the next day with my Mother in a basket next to her. Our ancestors were obviously made of much stronger stuff than this new generation apparently. Their children and grandchildren have been very successful. We never took a handout from the government, their grandchildren worked and paid our own way through school and we are all quite successful in life with beautiful families. If you apply yourself in America you can achieve success. I can not stand people who live in a perpetual state of victimhood and I have even less respect for people who pander to others like these white students are doing. Yes, we had slavery in the past just like a majority of countries did at one time or another in their history. Some even have it today but instead of speaking about those atrocities that exist today these people whine about a past that is over here in America while ignoring the brutality around the world. I am so sick of it. My ancestors on my Mother’s side were treated horribly but it does not impact the reality of today. My husband’s is half Irish. Soooooo… Do better, work hard and be smart about your money and you will absolutely go far in this country.
To be blunt, I do not owe anyone shit. I will not bleed all over people about the past but I will encourage everyone to apply yourself and move forward in your life. Take care and kudos to your family for doing it the right way. 💝

Growing up, nearly everyone that I knew were poor. My parents bought food at the local grocery store on credit, as did many people in our neighborhood. They finally paid that bill off after I had left home. Guess what? We were all white. Our grandparents and sometimes parents came to this country with just the clothes on their backs and took any job available. In those days, if you did not pay for your food on the trip over, you were sent to Ellis Island and if you couldn't find someone to come pay your bill, you were sent back to Europe. No one gave two shits about the immigrants then.

It was estimated that 50 million people are living in modern slavery on any given day in 2021... That means one in every 150 people on the Earth is living as a slave. As of 2018 the countries with the most slaves are India, China, Pakistan, North Korea, Nigeria, Indonesia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Russia, and the Philippines. Haiti was the first country to abolish slavery in 1804 followed quickly by the northern states of the United States. Other countries followed soon after but there are still many current countries that continue to enslave people. I agree with you that he wants you to live with a slave mentality, to feel less than. My 'white privilege' obviously didn't get me out of ANY of my mistakes. Only by the grace of God was I able to climb out of that hole as a better person. The fundamentals of success are the same for EVERY person: hard work, perseverance, respect, and discipline. The fact is that most law enforcement ARE good people, and the VAST majority of inmates in the system are most definitely guilty. In fact, I never encountered anyone who even claimed to be unjustly incarcerated, and inside you know what everyone's charges are, as your jacket is part of your identity. It's clearly just ignorance with most of the liberal youth, even when their hearts might be in the right places. They don't have enough wisdom or life experience to distinguish the Leftist propaganda from reality. Thankfully though, MOST of us who are reasonably intelligent tend to grow up eventually. Objective truth is truly paramount.

The first time I heard the term Equity - replacing Equality - which replaced Liberty - I realized we are in serious trouble - we - being the citizens of the United States of America - Americans, because equity is the foundation of communism. Ignoring the absolute oppression & terror inherent in the communist system, the transition from - even our twisted distorted Constitutional Republic, requires a bloody revolution that can only be achieved by the classic strategy of - debasement, demoralization, Divide, and Conquer, because a strong united people will always win a battle against an opponent being a small group of power-hungry people.
I am 48 years old, and up until the Democrat radicals announced their communist intent by using the term Equity, I was a democrat believing I was working toward a better America for all Americans. Now I realize the American Population is being manipulated by Political Party Cults - we are Cult followers - we choose our Elected Civil Servants - as proscribed by our chosen cult - not on the quality of the individuals we are Electing.
I have rejected both Cults, because both have betrayed the United States America - the Nation of the people.
However, I think the threat is far deeper than our oblivious Cult behavior - so deep & dark I wonder if I am functioning in a complete psychotic break from reality.
A few years ago, I realized the absurdity of schools in my State (CA), which require 2 years of PE, but 1 semester of US Government, and I feel this is entirely deliberate to keep the people ignorant. Afterall if we do not know their limits & our power, we will never recognize their crimes.
So, at 45-years-old, and I do have a college degree, for the first time in my life - I actually read the entire Declaration of Independence, The United States Constitution, The Bill of Rights, the Federalist Papers, and an overview of the historical & political context of the British Colonies and the American Revolution - all of which we should have been given in-depth knowledge of in our “Public education”.
We all must educate ourselves and share our interpretation of the true intent of the founders - their inspiration & aspiration when the 13 colony states negotiated and finalized our Constitution. It is horrifying how off the rails this country has become.

My late husband was African American, He was going 20 mph over the speed 20! He said oh boy, The officer ran his record extremely. Saw he had not had a speeding ticket in over 10 years and let him off with a warning. My husband shook his hand told him thank you for all hr does and explained he comes from a family of police officers, in fact his dad is retired vice and his uncle was an under cover ATF. Now, on another occasion we were at a world renewed medical clinic, an old army vet was in a wheelchair on oxygen mind you, yet he still found a way to say I don’t want to sit by that……. Racial slur. What did my husband do.l Put his hand on me to calm me down while he prayed, loudly. He wanted them too know the ONLY reason he was calm was Jesus. We saw those people a few times that day, which is odd because, it is huge and has a few buildings ect, my husband said, I am meant to pray for him. But, I said please do that from afar. Then lo and behold we end up waiting for the same elevator in one of multiple parking garages. I thought oh Lord. My husband said I am asking him. So, he went over to him and said sir, I see you are having a hard time breathing. Is it okay if I pray for you. The nan said yes ! My husband prayed for that man and the man thanked him for it! The man who had used the racial slur. And he prayed for him. Touched his shoulder. The elevator came, they got in and we stayed going to wait for the next one, His son motioned to us and said please we will make room and I am sorry about earlier. We got in and laughed exited the same floor said be well and goodbye. My husband built bridges. How do you think that old guy thinks about brown or black men now, what releif do you think his son felt when my husband prayed vs something else. I am willing to say that family remembers that day. They don’t he is in Heaven now. I believe they still talk about the black man who prayed for and touched their dad’s shoulder after the racial slur he used, I believe he changed a mind set in that family. My late husband has been in Heaven for 3.5 years now, I miss him so much, People ask me if I will start dating. How? When you had a man like that as your husband? Comment made in living memory of my late husband Gerald,

They have no idea what real oppression is. My great grandparents lost all their wealth and possessions and had to flee their countries with nothing to escape oppression.
They started again (in the UK) with nothing at a time that was way more racist than now. They still started their own businesses and were middle class again in a few years.
Oppressed people don't sit around complaining and demanding free money. They're too scared and nobody would listen.
What Americans call "racism" is a joke. If you can't make it here in America... you are the problem...

Logic and common sense tells us that with the level playing field of opportunity in America, the only reasons any person, of any race or color, would be unable to accumulate personal wealth is lack of effort, lack of self control, mismanagement of finances, and making bad decisions or choices that hinder them from getting ahead financially.. the opportunities are available equally to anyone who is willing to put in the effort that it takes to succeed and excel. But it also takes discipline to not give in to temptation.. it's easy to spend every dime you earn, especially when you know how hard you worked for it.. but that doesn't mean that it's responsible, or advantageous, if your goal is to accumulate wealth

I have been discriminated against in my job…working as a trainer for a large company, I was asked by another peer how the training material was working for the class we were teaching. I mentioned a person who was struggling with the material as an example, and advised how it could be changed to help the students understand better. I was over heard saying the persons name and because I happen to be white and the student happened to be black, my manager called HR saying I was being racist.
I have worked in this same company for over 20 years… and have never had any issues like this! I was so sad that they would think that of me…. When I told the Manager and my Supervisor that just because I am white does not make me a racist, they ended the conversation and have never heard back from them, in fact they moved to a different department (thank you Jesus).
So yes racism is still around and No it is not just against one race!
