1:13:50 This is what being a true enthuisast is right here. I feel like Zach has had the revelation that I and many others have when you get older, and also ascend to driving more expesive and faster vehicles; you can only go so fast. You start to savor the experience and start to dissect how the machine actually performs relative to what it was designed to do. I learned that eiphany the day I got smoked on a back road by an ND Miata whilst driving my RS3.
We've had Wing - Drone delivery here in the Australian Capital Territory, trialling from 2017 and permanent setup since 2019. Not surprisingly Coffee and fast food are the most popular here too. Within the trial period there was anecdotally lots of residents complaining, yet officially very few complaints made.
@@CoffinRX2 oh, I was commenting on the fact that that drone company said it had thousands of deliveries and only 16 complaints. I thought that was a suspicious number.
Reg. 550/575, I seem to recall Chris Harris calling the 575 sans Fiorano pack "Dogsh*t" on his Whiskey Files thingy he did on Instagram. I'd get a 550 looks alone and you can't seem to go wrong with em considering they were all manuals. Service intervals are also shorter than 456 because of (I think) the hydraulic lifters which don't require valve adjustments like the 456. If the back seat isn't as big a priority (456 is comfortable but not exactly adult sized like the FF, still), go with a 550. Modern Daytona imo Harry Metcalfe called it "an everyday Ferrari" and if he required one of those, he'd seek no further....sounds pretty well recommended to me! Then again I dunno dogsh*t, just read a lot of reviews, dream a lot so take that with a big, big dash of salt. They seem to be quiet on a stock exhaust (if you're interested in V12 noises) and there's funny little Ferrari build quality things like headlight condensation that you wouldn't find on something like, say, an R129 of the same era. Doesn't make me want one less though.
The bike company he's talking about is VanMoof. They are a good way to spot techbros around the city. Mostly because they don't know how to ride and don't treat slower manual bikes and pedestrians with any regard for safety - at least around where I live, and they are everywhere here now like Teslas. The big problem is they ride in bike lanes but are so much faster than normal bikes and they never seem to use ettiquette when passing (bell, "on your left", etc). The fact this dude wants these to be faster without a license is insane to me.
1:21:40 After talking about mobility, fuel prices and the size of American cars.. the 'better daily' arguement the second thing that comes to mind is size, and it's better slightly larger the other.
Hiya, I happen to live in Ireland and supply a drone delivery company, I'm guessing the one Matt talks about couse I don't know any other. I saw the drone in action, and I admit they are not as noisy as other, smaller drones and less noisy as you would think. Manageable ona day2day basis.
Weird thing with Internet in germany is how spotty the high speed is At home I have 250 mbit, at work which is like 400m from my home we are currently maxed out at 10mbit, which is unacceptable
I think a car snorkel is actually to pull clean air from above the car and dirt kicked up into the front grille or engine bay. If they were for water they would have to be air tight which indont believe they are.
Matt, this is mostly all MID Costco wine. The Gevrey Chambertin is way more baller than the "Grand Cru" St Emillion. Don't confuse the Bordeaux classification for Burgundy's Zach.
I don't have the gram or the patron page, but can we get a sub tab in the TST website for a TST book club where you list all the books brought up on the shows?? I just got done reading the stupidity book
The gas prices he's mentioning seem to be a little off... Currently here in Germany gas is about 2 Euro per liter (which is about 7.50 USD/GALLON. that is for 95 OCTANE, we don't have 87 OCTANE here, 95 is the base octane. About a year ago we were about 30-40 percent cheaper than where we sit now. I just filled my BMW 3 series and it cost just about 100 Euro, (at this point in time the Euro is on par with the US Dollar)
Yes for car enthusiasts and urbanists getting along! 👏 I'd add public transit and rail heads to that. The people pushing endless petroleum and ever more highway lane miles are not the friend of the car enthusiast, they want your roads to lack investment while they're clogged with as many trucks and untrained monkeys as they can stuff onto them, the beautiful drive through the beautiful place is a waste of their time.
If you've ever been exposed to tech/VC bros it's totally unsurprising to learn they think they can fix transpo/mobility with tech. The only fix is people-focused (as explicitly opposed to car-focused) infrastructure. This requires political will/buy-in though, so good luck with that.
Personal transport; the thing we all love, is not sustainable. We (humanity) need a mass transport infrastructure and a way to get cheep thrills racing cars.
This dude always is so focused on money like it’s not the fucking entire point of life man being rich isn’t EVERYTHING. I hope you find inner peace so that if you do become “rich” you can actually fucking enjoy it
Matt is getting awfully specific about some of the people there without saying their names. 😂😂 Great podcast as always!

I was like, damn he’s saying pretty specific things for saying they’re not allowed to say who was there. I’ll take it! 😂
At least we'll get the scoop once!
After listening to this I won’t be surprised if Matt doesn’t get an invite back lol
They're definitely going to make him take this down 😂
Respect for Matt keepin it real about the dark side of the thing we all love.

Nothing says we need more walkable cities like coffee drones.
As we go for a walk the drone can track us and deliver a nice PSL to our outstretched arm
@@BrendanEvan You're saying I'll have to OUTSTRETCH my arm!?
@@tylerbecker3348 lol
No. It's about having a hot cup of Starbucks or whatever java at home as opposed to a public place or outside.

B5 is a 5 series not a 3 series! Come on guys...
The B5 with the V8 TT is a 5 series. B3 is the 3 series...
Yeah I was like wait that's a bit big for a 3 series...
was just about to say this
Expensive to get to Germany because it's the start of Oktoberfest!

Snorkels also are useful for moving the air intake higher up and away from dust and dirt
Great debrief Matt! I sincerely hope you get invited back to this meeting to provide us with more info! Thank you
I love how Matt has said stuff in both of the last two podcasts that he probably shouldn't have, and instead of just editing it out leaves it in 😆
John Deere also has large cold rooms to test run combines and tractors. Pretty cool stuff!

Sounds like Matt went to a Great Reset event.
Thanks, great comments on everyday mobility, I also love cars, but I would also love to decrease car idependency in a cities.

Lol the fact you could get this from him just talking about it means he was too specific 😂
Having people ride what is essentially a motorcycle without training, license or protective equipment sounds like a recipe for disaster.
I agree on all points
Did they discuss the PCH GT3 crash with the two guys who lost their lives? I know J. Ryan did a show about it.

For 150k why not an Sl65amg... or a CL65 which has four seats. But a 575M is gorgeous and will retain its value way better.
