I went to spend the summer that year with my cousin up in Colorado. We attended this event. For a country kid from Eastern Oklahoma this was a very tremendous experience. I'd barely been out of the county I was raised in let alone seen mountains or this type of music. My cousin passed away long ago but I'm still listening to this stuff. Just saw the guys play last weekend. Greetings and love to all who are reading this.
I was at this show. I lived over the mountain from Telluride for 6 years and had moved away but came back for this show about a week after the Grateful Dead 50th anniversary shows in Santa Clara. Never had so much fun in my life. I had so much fun I almost lost my job. I was 28, hooked up with a beautiful woman in her forties and raged all weekend with her some of my greatest friends. The fallout from the debauchery lasted a week and almost got me fired but it was entirely worth it.
After all the shows and all the years these guys still make me have goosebumps and very few bands can make that happen in short WSP is the real deal and will always be!!!!
I have been on here before..whoever was the sound engineer’s on this are my heroes..👂👍 besides my love and respect for Panic and the family..love always
At the Fox in Atlanta with George. When the video boom was flying willy kneely over my head, the lights were all at full blast on the floor the whole show, there were people acting crazier than usual in the isles under the boom as if paid, and you could hear the animosity between the band members while they played, I wondered if it was the end. I gave away all my legs and wondered how could of the boys fallen into the mainstream and became petty out of no were. About a year later I heard some beautiful whispers. I went to a little fest in the town of Buckhead, Ga and saw Herring,Rodgers, Sipe, and Fontain (sp?). The whispers turned to conversations of jubilation! I have been saved again. Panic has been as well! The rest is present day history. Later, in Memphis, I again rose to the second dimension when Herring helped my favorite band play my favorite song of praise, Glory. Honestly, when I arrived back on our terrestrial plane the were gaping mouths on different seat levels looking at me. I would love to have known what they saw. I always just see spinning stars and diamonds in a void of darkness and when I return with my face plastered back on I laugh in the way a dork or idiot may when facing a woman of beauty and proclaim eloquently, "holy shit". Dude I have always loved them as well. Just was scared hopelessly for a spell.
@@erockyobrohymn3334 I too witnessed when Glory was dusted off in Memphis (summer 2007 I believe) Same weekend that, during Blue Indian, JB changed some of the lyrics from "In a painting on the wall right there" to "The Shadow in the Chair right there" as he looked to his right.. Remember it as if it just happened--
I was blessed to be living in Athens, GA from 1985 - 1995. WSP was a fixture there for most of those years. I dig their music more than the Dead by a wide margin.
The actual true story of Charles M. Hatfield is pretty badass , and how cool is it JB found his story in an old farmers almanac and wrote one of the best songs ever !! JB FOR PRESIDENT!!!
Holy fuck. Did anyone else hear at 5:00+ minutes, Schools jammed the "China/Rider" transition riff??!!.., goddamn this band is amazing. We Love you Mikey!!!!
I love the look on Schools' face during Hatfield. Jimmy gives the sign to JB to come out of the jam but then he just keeps riffing it. You can see Schools ask, "What happened?" LOL
Other commenters on this are probably gone elsewhere, but I just dove in the WSP pool. What’s great for me coming in late is like someone telling you to go see a movie you already know the ending to. I just sat back, listened to tunes, concerts, interviews and moved right through the years, woohoo. The only thing is that I wish I could have experienced going through the moments when they were actually happening. WSP has become the Dead’s musical “sister” in my happy little life. Me: smiling and scratching my dog’s ass...life is good.
Hi guys, I was at this show and when they played this song as an opener, I absloutly fliped. So great to be dancing my ass off at a panic show at my home town! Glad I'm old enough (13) to fathom how absloutly awesome this is.
theres a girl right in front of schools at about 745 mark theres a shot of a kid with rain gear on, after that, man, i know that dance augusta 10/12/84 doesnt happen often but shit
Rain show in Raleigh, NC with Houser was epic. Yall diggin on this Hatfield and Riders tease may like that show. 4/29/00. JB rapped Riders on the Storm. I got soaked and half the crowd didn't show, but Panic did. Like I said Epic. Those there know it by the rain show.1: Fishwater > Pleas > Fishwater, Bear's Gone Fishin' > Tie Your Shoes > Imitation Leather Shoes, Hatfield > The Waker 2: Space Wrangler > Surprise Valley > Little Lilly, Flat Foot Flewzy > Airplane > Drums* > Pilgrims, Ain't Life Grand > Love Tractor E: Action Man, Can't Find My Way Home * with Peter Jackson on drums ['Riders On The Storm' rap by JB during 'Hatfield'; 'Train Kept A Rollin'' rap during 'Flat Foot Flewzy']
Fell in the groove in a dive bar in Charlotte. 89 or 90.three peeps dancing the two cool as mo fo s that brought me and me.I got educated. Found my groove and got it on! Thanks Preston Grant wherever you are you rang that bell early. You knew.over the years being a dead and spread head. Met many a cool cat. Some even think I'm the man.but you Preston from ROCK HILL SC. You are the coolest ever.made. thank you for showing me the path catdady cool.

I like how Schools says "what happened" to Duane at 8:54 'cause Jimmy went around once too many times. LOL! Something Jimmy does quite a lot.
+Paul Jasper Haha, thanks for pointing that out. I love Dave's face during the whole bit.
+Collin Hatcher
Not only that, but he stepped on JB's feet. Not only JB's feet, but his guitar playing feet. JB was on point and Jimmy kinda soured it..Just sayin'
