Hello. I’ve heard several times you have to install the tire in the opposite direction. In other words the arrow that would normally face spinning forward, should be installed in the opposite direction is that true?
Unless the tire is made specifically for a fat tire application, which I think there is one company now making it, then yes you will run it backwards. I'll try to explain the best I can, The tire you are putting on the front is a rear tire. The tires are manufactured for front or rear, meaning they are glued together a certain way for the specific placement. If you think about it like this, when you are riding and hit your brakes, the weight of the bike is pulling on the back tire, and the weight of the bike is pushing on the front tire. So the "guts" of the tire are acting in different ways. If you put the rear tire on the front with arrows facing forward the bikes weight is now pushing on the tire incorrectly and can cause the tire to come apart internally. It does not change the handleing of the bike at all, even on wet pavement where the grooves come into play to disperse the water..it still does what it is suppoed to do but you wont have it come apart on you over time. I hope this all makes sense and helps..let me know..happy holidays! - Steve
Thank you! As always. You’re the man. Thank you for your help, and excellent explanation.
This is how everyone should do tutorial videos!!! Straight to the point, separated and labeled, great commentary!! That subscribe button was EASY to click!

You’re the man bro! Glad I found your page. Awesome content!
Pages like yours are what motivated me to customize my roadglide. I have minimum experience with a shit ton tools and time. The bike is almost done and now I want to start my own custom shop for dad's with to much time on there hands. Thanks for all the good knowledge
Very informative video. I like how you stay on topic with no superfluous crap. I’m definitely interested in doing this kit on my bike now. You gained a new subscriber!
Probably the best video I have seen in clear explanation and overall professionalism I have seen!!
Thank you for that, Brett! hopefully it helps with your install or at least you know what your installer is doing to your bike when they do it. Pretty straight forward.
Thanks for documenting this job, totally badass. Great work 🤙🏻🤙🏻
Great video. Just picked up my Native Baggers 180 kit for my 2020 Road Glide. Stopped by their shop to pick it up and they are great guys and very helpful and willing to give you install tips to help you through the process. Can't wait to get my fender back from paint and get the kit on the bike. Thanks for a great video guide to help me get it done.
How are you enjoying your day front tire I'm in the market but still not sure is it for looks or performance any advise is appreciated
Bro! I gotta tell ya...that was Bad Ass! The after is a much looking version, and having that fine ass woman with the assist was the icing on the cake! Job well done!
Thanks man...Im diggin the look! I'll let the wife know ...some of these projects its a lot easier with 2 people and she doesn't mind getting her hands dirty for sure. Thanks again man.
Love the fat front look. Definitely on my to-do list. Thanks for another informative video. Keep up the good work.
Thank you Bobby...Im diggin it for sure man!
Keep up the good work. Coming from a guy that likes to do his own work these videos are great.
Thank you sir..much appreciated!
I never liked the jumbo back tire Choppers or the extra tall 26 inch front tires but this is killer in my books
Hey Kevin...im diggin it so far...Ive had a few 21 front builds and thats cool but I really think the fat tire looks the best on a road glide...just makes that fairing look at least half way normal...thanks for checking it out sir. Be safe!
You gotta release the mess ups and laughs. My girlfriend is laughing at the sucking nuts. Lol
Another GREAT VIDEO ... Your video gives me all the confidence I need.. so far I've done apes now fat tire is a coming.. thank you brother.. looking forward to more vids..

Wow. What a difference, looks beautiful ❤️
Thank you...check out Natives EZ kit that they have now if you are interested in getting a fat tire set up..much easier than this
You have one of the best video production, how-to shows for our community. I can't help but love how you smack down those guys who talk so damn much and take an hour to explain the simplest thing like we are in grade school. Then want us to pay for their secret service install shows. I watch your videos about bikes I don't own just so I can learn something new, and understand prespectives that make being a biker better for everyone. Keep Rocking
Thank you! I do the same thing ...I watch way too much biker stuff on youtube..Always try to learn one new thing everyday. Keeps us in the up and up and puts money back in our pockets where it belongs! Be safe and thank you for checking out the videos!
Thanks! My order arrives tomorrow and I'll be referring to this video again. Good Job!
Awesome man...pretty straight forward install! you'll get it!
As usual Steve awesome video. I just did this same exact job on my street glide and followed your video. Your awesome brother. Thank you!!!
sorry for the late reply been down with the flu...but thank you for checking it out and really glad it helped you!
Starting to checkout your vids...liking the down to earth style. Currently rebuilding a totaled 2011 Road Glide. Sometimes you gotta buy what you can afford...got er running now time to repair fairings, windshield, stereo and speakers...so off to facebook marketplace we go...keep up the good work.
Great video Steve! Definitely doing this on my 16 RGS!
Thank you tony...Yeah im diggin that fat tire kit...man it really sets off the front end.
lol!! i like how you held the oem peace with one finger nice trick .. great channel an info..
I thought the same thing. Free hanging OEM, full monkey grip on native. Im sure native is better quality than OEM, but still.
Just found the answer down in the comments. Again, great video, well spoken with a hot assistant..
That is one gorgeous bike!!! Wow.. kudos..
Love the Fat tire On the Road Glide!! Our boy Austyn is currently working this on his CVO Road King. Going to look amazing!!

if you are on facebook check out the fat tire bagger group facebook.com/groups/1977805672446283 i'll tell you right now...its the best you will get...fast, slow it doesn't matter...rides like a dream.
Thanks Steve
Great video thanks I'll at to my library. Keep'em coming
Thank you Marty! Be safe man!
A lot of people are using Saran Wrap to put the seal back on over the tube , to prevent the tube from testing the seal when first pushing the seal over the leading edge of the fork tube.
Great video brother. Love em keep them coming
Thank you sir! More still to come!
Great video from Australia.
Thank you for checking it out! Much appreciated!
That bike is gorgeous!
Thank you sir...much appreciated.
Ive had the Native fat tire on my Street Glide. I love it! Rides and looks badd ass. Paul at Native Customs is a knowledgeable and cool guy...
HIGHLY RECOMMEND DOING THIS!!
Can you tell me what low speed turns etc, handling in general is like compared to stock? I’m getting same on my SGS right now.
Incredible, that is definitely my next investment
Nice man youll love it...rides like its on rails!
Love the 180 front end, for the Bobba style tho, thanks for the share ☮️

Looks great! Nice job man.

Yes sir....I actually seen on the sik baggers facebook this morning has the baggers and brews on their so I looked you guys up, seen the mockup video on UA-cam this morning,. Thats going to look sick man...I havent seen a RK with it on there yet. Im subbing now.....I gotta see it when your done.
Steve you make it look easy! Great video man!
Hey buddy...its not too bad ...worst part is that top cap under that spring...LOL Ive had those come off and go flying across the shop before....thats why I use the rag now...kinda holds it all better than oily slick hands thanks for checking it out man!
@@sikbaggers next time i get down to goreville, ill have to get over to marion and buy some merchandise. Have a good one man!
@@8822fitzyHell yeah man..Im on 37 right down the road from Goreville. Hit me up over on FB ...stop by anytime
That looks SO much better then the big wheel.

Tres
Steve another great video brother very informative an fat tire looks good on the whiskey project keep them coming I am a fan take care brother
Thank you Ben! Much appreciated sir!
That looks sweet! Very cool! I love the Whiskey color.... I have Sedona Orange and wish I waited one more year for the Whiskey!
Thank you...yes I held out...I originally wanted the 2013 candy orange that only came out on the road glides...I just couldnt get passed the 09 to 13 road glide fairing...that thing is hideous! lol So i found the whisky...perfect.
THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO
Wow !!! That's just badass !!! Good work ! 💪🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
Thank you Jason...Im really diggin the look!
Your the man Steve!!!!
Thank you Chaz! Be safe!
I have been waiting for someone to post a video on this...FINALLY!
And thank you for checking it out....pretty easy and straight forward install. Im diggin it for sure.
@@sikbaggers it did not look too bad at all. Does it ride as smooth as i imagine it does? I live in Alaska and our roads suck so wide tire would help me roll over the holes in the road haha.
@@fwgarage2351 i dont have a load of saddle time in on it but I can tell you it is much better than stock and yeah steamroller man...we have crap roads in illinois too...right over them potholes!
@@sikbaggers Maybe after you get some saddle time in you could do a review of how the wide tire rides compared to stock, that would be badass. I know I am only one subscriber but I thought I would throw it out there.
I am eagerly awaiting installing the same kit on my 15 RGS
hell yeah youre going to love it!
Looks good I’m more the 21” guy myself but at least there’s options!
Hey Smooth! Yeah man me too...I thought the RG looked pretty sick with the fatty though....steamroller! so to speak lol but I still love my 21 on my SG.
Awesome vid.🤙🏽🤙🏽
Thanks for the visit! Hope the video helps on your install! Take care and ride safe - Steve
Very informative!!
Great video. Thank you
Youre very welcome
You forgot to mention only one "ugga dugga" on the torque specs.
Great video.
haha yes sir!
Great Video Steven, Turned Out Bad Ass.
Hey Jeff...agreed sir! Thank you for checking it out. I kind of want to do my SG now lol
This has helped me decide if I wanted to go with a fat tire or a big wheel. So thanks.
I dont know which way you decided to go but after riding both, id take the fat tire over the big wheel any day...man that thing is smooth.
@@sikbaggers well neck bearings went out so those have to be replaced. Decided if any customization would be done now. Dont want to deal with having to rack the front, and love the fat tire look from the front( looks meaty, ex..tough) plus have heard and by talking to others the handling is awesome. Getting a lol older dont want to fight when turning just want to ride in comfort. Your videos have been informative so thank you.
@@rockymanzanares6086 Youre very welcome Rocky...Im just now getting the go pros in and the gear I need to do some motovlogging and so I can review this stuff on the road. You'll love the fat tire man.
Your commentary was perfect and couldn’t be more clear. But to be honest I would prefer someone with your knowledge and confidence. I’m a welder and fabricator for forty years but when it comes to two wheels Would rather have someone with yrs of bike working experience do their thing for me. Nice job and I can tell your other half has lots of experience also. When she held that fender and grabbed and started that bolt,I said yep she knows 👍🏻
thank you for the excellent comment..really means a lot to be able to show people how to do it and if they are comfortable enough, they can do it too. This is a slightly bigger project than we usually tackle on our channel but it has saved a lot of people a lot of money and that's all that matters. We also understand that not every project is for everyone..and dealing with wheels, forks, etc can make you second guess yourself...heck, we have scratched our heads a few times here and there lol I'll pass the word on to my wife as well...thank you again!
That’s a better video than your last fork replacement vid BY FAR. I did use your last vid as reference when I did my fork job. My only criticism is that when you put that cap back on the top of your tube, I highly recommend starting it by hand if you can and not straight with a power tool. Very easy to cross thread. Then you’re up shit creek. But very well done thank you.
Thanks man..yeah that old fork video was done on a bad day and I tried to make the best of it...We had plenty of time on this one. Ive done about 30 sets of forks since then too so that helps. Ive never stripped one out with a power tool...this is even how the HD dealership installs them...the cap is tapered to guide it down in the hole properly. I hope I never have to find out the hard way I guess lol
Steven Housden that’s good to know! I learned something there. My closest Harley dealer is 150 miles away so I try not to make certain mistakes.
This bike is sick af, I want it.
Thank you Alex! Shes coming along...still have a few more items to install and some mods to do but shes getting there.
As always great video. That fat tire kit is fire bro for real steamroller whiskey rolling down the highway......
Yes sir....its pretty sick...Ive seen so many of these in the past but man when you get one on your own bike and have time to sit and study it...its just badass.
Another awesome video
Thank you Michael. Much appreciated sir.
I just did a video on a road king special with fat tire kit and it looks beautiful. Love that kit
Yes sir.....its an outstanding look and I cannot wait to get some saddle time in...Still bitter cold here in Illinois but one more week to Daytona and Ill get some riding in...Checked out your video too...well done man!
great instructions!
Thank you!
Just hit the subscribe button love your video straight to the point no b.s. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
Thank you for checking it out and the sub! Much appreciated.
That front fat fender & tire looks mean!
Yes sir agreed!! Im diggin that lok for sure man.
Great Video, I have a Native kit exactly like that for sale, Chrome Cow Bells and lowers, Amber Whiskey fender. Nearly new Dunlop AE Tire.
Nice video! Looks Awesome! Want this on my 2019 RGS. I read your comments on handling but now that you have more time in the saddle, hows it handle over all? No Regrets?
What do you mean that is pushes in the corners and what exactly is the learning curve that makes it ride different than the stock front tire?
Bike looks bad ass !
Thank you Dan!
Great video! Subbed
Thank you. Much appreciated. Be safe!
Great video.
thank you kevin!
Enjoy your videos . Very informative. Now that you've had the fat front tire for a couple of years. What are your thoughts? Have you had the bike in rain with the new fat tire? How does it handle? Thanks for your time in making the videos.
Good job man!
Thank you Marc!
Just subbed ya! Nice work!
Thank you! Much appreciated! Glad the video helped
Love the fat 180mm tire in the front!!!
Yes sir Mario...agreed! Its a huge difference for sure!
I have a 2013 Road King. What would the kit cost for my bike?
That fat tire looks great on there. 👍
Thank you bro...man she rides like a dream! Our SG has a 21 on there and this thing handles so much better. We are just now getting our motovlogging gear in and tested the handlebar mount yesterday...super smooth! just waiting on my mic adapter to get here to test the helmets. Ive been watching some of your videos...I got my cameras dialed in but need to focus on audio next. We got the Packtalk bolds ...im sure ill have to experiment some with that
great footage, thanks for sharing be safe
Thanks, you too!
Super informative, great video. Sold me.
Hey Aaron we put about 800 miles on it in daytona this last week and man,...I cant believe I haven't done this to my street glide yet. The ride is amazing!
Wow made that fork job, look easy...first time I did it, took me a lot longer than that...
lol..my first one took forever man...I was more worried about putting all back together correctly and kept second guessing myself lol after you do a few its not too bad. Thanks for checking out the video sir.
Do you change the back wheel to match the front rim?
Thanks for the links that jump 2 parts of the video. Some of the best how to videos I've seen on UA-cam.
Awesome
Hey Donovan!! Crazy ive seen some of your workout videos before...thanks for stopping by, my friend. If you have any questions on the fat tire set up let me know.
What's up @@sikbaggersI just got my road glide and need to get the tires changed up. .
awesome
Great video! I love the look of the fat front tire! Can you reuse an aftermarket cartridge kit in the fat tire kit?
Koo~Doos to the lovely assistant! ....Great video Steve....
Thank you sir...I will pass it along to my wife...shes always a big help....either helping in the garage or at least putting up with me working on bikes. lol
Love the video. What tire did you go with.
Appreciate the video; I have a 2018 fatty SG!
Nice man! Thanks for checking it out....it makes me want to put one on my SG now and get rid of the 21
Please do a video on 26 inch wheel with the American suspension step by step with the front end removal
21” FAT TIRE NEXT PLEASE 😉
awesome video looking to do my 2000 flh
man youre going to love it if you do...this rides like a dream! If I didnt have so mch money invested into my sg front wheel id do it again on that bike.
hi Steven love the video was hoping you could send a link to the jack you use on your lift. thanks and keep up the good work
Hey David...thank you sir...It actually came with the lift ...its a Titan ...I think they sell it separately but its black..The Titan 1000 lb mini jack.
