I love how it is global that anyone in FACGce will play never meant straight away.
It is rule
I've always wondered, what do the lower case letters in the tuning mean?
@@benjaminfowler4513 because there is already a letter C and E in the tuning, lower letters are used to show its an octave higher, not the same pitch. Thats why standard tuning is EADGBe
@@strangersinbedband9986 hey I appreciate that so much!! Makes sense
@@benjaminfowler4513 no problem 👍
5:23 anyway, here's emo wonderwall...
🤣
But why would Ibanez discontinue the Talman outside of Japan instead of just simplifying the range? Such great guitars.
It's even more strange when you consider that they have a talman bass line.
@@donttalktome4696 yeah that baffled me. The shape seems so odd for bass compared to guitar
@@donttalktome4696 Acoustic talman line too, but the electric ones are a no go outside of Japan apparently. I'm sure if Ibanez was smart, they would bring them back in some form, seeing as they are pretty popular and there is demand for them.
@@GOREMAXXX they brought them back in the form of the new Ibanez Q series, the pickups have a little bit more highs and lows but otherwise the same. I recommend this vid: ua-cam.com/video/5Et3Mwyox5E/v-deo.html
@@DownWithTheCygnus I think Ichika only meant his Q signature reminded him of his ivory SSS Talman. The Q guitars are based on the shape of the S series, and all the pickups are newly custom built. Otherwise, they are a completely new idea for Ibanez. I disagree they'd fill in for a vintage-style series like the Talman, that is as chunky and heavy as a Tele.
I have an older Talman with Tele-style pickups and it's the best guitar I've ever owned. I've been craving one of these since the day they were announced and you're making it harder for me to resist...
I managed to pick one up in white for £120 on FB marketplace, I really like how it sounds.. but the strings are falling off the neck (you basically can't use frets 1-3 on either e because the frets are so filed down) the intonation is horrendous and it has flat spots and sharp frets.. meaning to take it into a shop but scared it will cost more to put right than I paid for it. Did you get much done to yours? or did I just get unlucky?
@@hodge8947 I'm happy to say mine was perfect out of the box, but it cost more than double what you paid. I'm guessing you just got one that's seen heavy use and needs a re-fret and set-up. It'll likely cost as much as you think, but in the end you'll end up with a good playing instrument. And the value of even the low-end Talmans has been creeping up, so the work would be worth it IMO
@@jakejohannsen6845 Thanks so much for the reply! The frets have just been filed wrongly unfortunately, it hasn't had much use, but like you say at the price I paid I can hardly begin to moan! It's a second guitar currently as I play my PRS most of the time, but now I'm thinking about recording I'd love to have the Talman as an option.. may have to get it down the shop... I did consider just changing the neck for a tele neck (probs cheaper than a refet) but I don't want to lose the talman headstock!
@@hodge8947 for the price you paid you prob got one of the lower budget models that were made in indonesia! They more recently build ones were a prestige run that were made in japan! I do think you might have gotten a lemon though ive played both the prestige and the lower version one and the both played great obv the prestige one played way better but you get what i mean!!!
@@masvader08 It has "made in china" on the back of the headstock. No idea the year or anything. I'll take it in to a shop n see what they say, honestly apart from the fret issue it plays/sounds and feels v nice
Nice seeing you having a Talman! Welcome to the club! That is a really good guitar.
Big old smile on your face all along :)
I love that you have playing that viral Midwest emo riff playing in the background
It's a full song now: open.spotify.com/track/6Vrfk7ETQ8GWNvh75MPJFp?si=c6a41f795a114aae
👍
I totally didn’t even realize that was you who posted it when I made the comment 😂 I need to subscribe, that video comes up on my recommendations all the time and I watch every time.
Beautiful playing. Sounds lush. Congrats!
Nice addition to the collection
5:22 never meant to buy the yvette young signature talman
There are so many amazing signature guitars right now 🤩 Yvette, Mario, Erick, Tim, Scott have great signatures, and recently Ichika got a beautiful headless signature. So many great artist, and they're all with Ibanez 😂
Colossal is such an underrated band. Their stuff is great. Great review
I get to go see her live in October
I recently saw the Archetype-Tim Henson, now I thought we need an Archetype-Ivette Young
it's just clean channels
@@Roxanneredpanda We need!
Pretty hard man Yvette too used ac30 sound.
Having that AC30 or AC10 platform is so important to her tone, and she's also used Oranges and maybe Fenders in the past, so in modeling those amps that's a versatile selection that all still centers around maximum twinkle. I'd also love to see what they do with the Warden compressor, boost, and chorus models (I'm thinking a hi-fi and lo-fi mode for the chorus) they would invariably need to complete the sound, even outside the delicious reverb textures and the analog delays that populate her sound.
This would actually end up looking like the new Tim Henson Archetype and that is not a bad thing.
Guitar Rig 6 has some of her own presets. You can try them, they're pretty cool
I think, the colors of sound of your playing in this video are matching the colors of the guitar.
Welcome to the yy10 gang, changed pic for the squad. Make sure you add some tone stickeys friend ✨✨✨
Talman is the easiest guitar to play with, the body fits like a glove sitting and standing.
Agreed. Definitely one of my favs out of the last 25 years or so
Very nice👍 i just Bing watched yvette and now this video pops up. Very cool guitar
Congrats professor )
🎉🎉🎉
im genuinely happy for you 🤩🤩🤩🤩
i love this guitar it feels really good in my hands
I’m a Fender guy, but one day at a guitar store my good friend just bought me an Ibanez Roadcore and I gotta admit, it’s a great guitar. The neck is incredible.
Nice 👍
I've tried the expensive one's and the affordable one's and they both played well, I first tried them years ago when they came with Lipstick pick ups
Nice! First one I've tried. Probably the most comfortable guitar I have
I recently bought one new *slightly damaged* and I LOVE it. You can't beat it for the price and of course I'm happy to support math rock in any way I can afford to. Get one!
Man oh man!!! Love this video, Steve!!
Cheers!
bold move!!! I DIG IT! Let's get a few more colors and tiers of Talman 6 strings Ibanez!!!
for sure! would love that
Talman - on my bucket list. Tnx for the IG Talman drool galery. 😉
Congrats! awesome guitar!!, is that waves full band in the background??? it is already out???
Already out, think there's a link in the description to the single I released a coupld weeks back 👍
What a nice toy you got there Steve! Happy tunes!
I've always wanted a talman steve. Kudos for the new guitar. Sounds pretty and twinkly.
Both Colossal Albums are 👌
Awesome! HNGD!! Can you sell stickers in the design of your UA-cam profile picture?
Now we all see your new guitar! Greetings, Steve!
Something sounds off with the high string (I think?) here. Sounds like its buzzing against something, like a sitar sort of whenever it's hit.
Yeah, it wasn't sitting right on the saddle so was pinging. Didn't realize till I watched it back 👍
Sounds as good as it looks , great playing
Cheers 👍
super cool
Nice! How long have you been living in South Korea?
I would love a talman with humbuckerrrrrs
Baseball bat neck ftw. awesome guitar. One day I'll get one..
if I ever get a strat like guitar it will be this, the colour is amazing. This or the EOB strat for something different!
cool guitar
Wow! Does it have glitter?
Song at 3:23?
Genuine question - why is a floating bridge guitar sold to an audience who changes their tuning every 10 minutes?
Or am I missing something obvious?
I wish lefty Talmans still existed
3:07 WHAT SONG IS THIS PLS
That's just something I made up for the video 👍
How much does it weigh? I can't seem to find any retailers that have the weight on the spec sheet?
~7.7 lbs is what I saw it weigh once, but weight varies from individual guitar to guitar, so don't get attached to the number.
compressor max out?
nice
How in the world did I miss this 5 days ago?!!?!?
#WIGGLESTICK!!!!!!!
😂
brooo im so jealous
i'd get one but can't handle the colour...
YEEEES
You live in Korea? That must be awesome! what’s it like? ☺️
I thought you bought her stranberg 7-string
Offset guitars, I need one.
the buzz on the e is killing me.
Hello Steve here.
Noo, this is one of my dream guitars but if the neck is more like Gibson style it will probably be no from me. I have to find one and try it out.
Best to try one out. It's somewhere between a U and D shape, hard to say!
that’s dope af
Welcome to the talman gang!
i rlly want the same white talman that ichika has. the green on this isn't quite wot I like.
Idk why but that guitar looks so delicious 🤤
youre based in South Korea? dayum wonder what math k rock is like
Check out the bands Kotoba, and Dabda 👌
@@LetsTalkAboutMathRock you noticed me ☺️ your band kicks ass keep up the good work and come play kk steel works in Wolverhampton!
Had no idea u were based in korea, would love some lore on that😄
The back story usually comes up on every love stream I do 😅
@@LetsTalkAboutMathRock love stream? 😳🥵

This video is the polar opposite of the "boomer reviews guitar and only plays classic rock timbres" memes
Funny how they sent this guitar to all the channels that have no idea who Yvette is or what math rock is lol
I want that guitar so bad, but I will never be able to afford it lol
siiiiick!
wish it was a hardtail.
Slime green? Lol I think you meant lime green
better get ichika's signature guitar now
Perhaps 😅
Same :D
Man come on now.. u'd make a broom sound good :-)
Hard to hear it because of the poor setup...string buzz.. sounds like a stars on a higher string
Omg he got a talman, now get a roadcore ibanez
I have an older Talman and I hate it. It was given to me. I believe it's a TC-420 (dude) so it may be made of weed. Blue with two hum bucking pickups. Maybe I've just never set it up properly and it's a great guitar.
Was there a time when the model wasn't so good? Hmm. I just found one on Reverb and the description says that guy's (which looks just like mis and is probably of the same vintage, was a solid, not laminate body. He's only asking $399 for it, so maybe the earlier models are less desirable.
Right now I have a synth pickup on it, so I can use my Boss Wavestation, which is essentially a hexaphonic fuzz. That way, I can sound way too much like Robert Fripp,
Funny in the context of this video. I prefer Strats and usually get rid of all other guitars.
didn't know you lived in South Korea
Talman, one of the most underappreciated guitars.
You live in South Korea? What...
math
rock
...noooooooo....I want!!!.... Nooooooo
immediately starts tapping? come on man
really wished lefties had these :(
