      +Will nonya No, you can just state an opinion on something as subjective as how you interpret "Intensity", in my humble opinion the jumpiness looks uncontrolled and the screaming reminds me of Dragon Ball Z, some people like it, and that's ok, but to me, looks a little awkward. Sorry if I have a different opinion, and I'm again sorry I will not be making a video explaining the correct level of "Intensity"

      Hi, thank you for comment! well, we have made those masks on video by ourselves (it is padding and covering of sport masks), there are probably more possibilities to buy it now but the padding and protection of shoulders etc. differs. Good masks were sold by our colleagues from Slovakia gesellschaft-lichtenawers.eu/tsc/ but I am not sure wether they still produce it, also Allstar sells something

    A question about the body armor. Are the jackets padded or a coat of plates?

    • @hazicha
      @hazicha  10 років тому +1

      the jackets are padded but they are not too thick so that they can be comfortable and flexible. I would say an "average thickness of padding":). certainly for the purpose of sparring or contests they are probably the minimum that can used.

    Šermujete jenom obouručníma nebo používáte i jedenapůlruční meče?

    • @hazicha
      @hazicha  4 роки тому +1

      omlouvám se za zpoždění s odpovědí: to co používáme na videu jsou meče, které jsme dřív nazývali jedenapůlruční, správnější označení je ale dlouhé meče, v podstatě se drží stále oběma rukama. asi jde do značný míry o otázku terminologie, kdo jakou používá. jednoručními meči samotnými (bez štítu, štítku apod.) téměř nešermujeme. za dvouruční meče my interně označujeme jen lancknechtské meče délky min. cca 150 cm. doufám, že to takhle stačí:)

    When I first saw kendo, I was struck by the lack of actual fighting, and the fact that you never blocked and always struck at the same time that you parried.
    Perhaps effective swordsmanship evolved by natural selection in every land that knew to forge blades.

    • @Croopskate
      @Croopskate 11 років тому +6

      HEMA has many of the same basic - "no BS" - principles as Kendo.
      Developments in the execution of both arts was however somewhat different because of the intended functionalities and thereby promulgated functional features of the associated weapon types.
      Both of their success can be measured by the military excellence of the areas these weapons came from, in my opinion.

    • @TheMasturCheef
      @TheMasturCheef 10 років тому +1

      ***** Kendo is in my opinion less abstracted from fencing than sport fencing. There is a lot around Kendo that would be "useless" in pure sports and therefore abandoned. Eg. all the ritual stuff like treating learning how to properly treat a real sword, hitting with the edge, body contact etc.
      I think it is save to say that Kendo would be a good preparation for a real sword fight. At least much better than sport fencing, since the simulated weapon (smallsword) there is crap in the first place ^^

    • @TheMasturCheef
      @TheMasturCheef 10 років тому +1

      ***** And even if, there is absolutely no reason to be so condescending.

    • @SwordTune
      @SwordTune 6 років тому +1

      +TheMasturCheef
      I have to disagree about sport fencing. You make a good point, and it addresses a large part of fencing, but not all of it. More traditional styles of sport fencing, of which I have learned for almost a decade, present a lot of details that are applicable in HEMA. When I "transitioned" to HEMA, it never actually felt like a transition. I could take ideas from manuscripts and bring them back into sport fencing very easily, and I've seen plenty of HEMA fencers who could use some sport fencing experience.

    • @tomtucker6828
      @tomtucker6828 6 років тому +1

      Bit late but saying that the smallsword is crap is kinda well, it feels like such a weak statement. It does what it is supposed to do, it is not a battlefield weapon, it is a duelling weapon intended to thrust, and it does well at being that. Smallsword fencing isn't that much different to rapier fencing, it evolved just because it was more convenient to carry around a smaller weapon and because the culture of swordsmanship was in decline. It kind of just was what it was.
