The mood is also very sad, which perfectly matches the somber music in the background as well.👍
Pretty sad, Dr Light is dying and pretty cautious about X's programming and didn't get to see what X has done. Take X is the only thing left of the original Mega Man and likely been created as a preparation against Dr Wily's creations as Dr Light is probably fully aware that Dr Wily must've created something as a form of revenge against the entire world and Dr Light wanted to have the world fully prepared and secured from that.
That something was the Zero Virus, transferred from his Ultimate Creation, Zero, to Sigma, manifested as the Maverick Virus we all know and hate. Remember this: Dr. Wily ALWAYS strikes again!
I like this version of X's history over the the one in the original games where Dr. Light never talks to X and seals him up for 30 years because he is worried that X's immaturity might cause him to become a threat to humanity. Though I imagine he thought of that too in this cutscene.
I've always questioned why X was created. He is such a potentially dangerous creation, how did doctor light not have the wisdom to go that far. I thought about how rock was in the later MegaMan games, becoming more aggressive towards wily. Less merciful, almost as if he's forced to fight when he's tired of it. Rock just was ready to end things and got ready to kill wily proclaiming he is more than a robot, and that really makes me think. What if Rock died sometime after the MegaMan games and light was filled with guilt because not only did he lose his son but his son died without wanting to fight. As a result, Dr light spends his days creating his greatest, X. This would be a new child with the ability to choose his own fights, Dr light created X out of a selfish desire to do justice for his son who didn't choose to fight but his programming forced him to anyway. Yet Dr light knew the danger of unleashing such a powerful creation, he wanted X to be help but also be an icon for what he believed in yet still he had to make sure that when X was awakened, it was with the assumption that the world wasn't ready for X and that X would change the world for the better or the world was ready for X and he could join society as one of them. That's why Dr light spent so much time on X, he wanted X to be able to choose while still making sure he wouldn't go down a dark path. Dr light succeeded, he built a reploid that had completely free will, but enough morals and faith in the world to not be led astray even in the most direst of circumstances. He made X strong maybe not physically, but mentally. In MegaMan Zero, X reveals that he grew tired of fighting and he began to stop caring about the people he fought against, but instead of losing himself to the ends regardless of the means, X stopped himself. He made a choice to step out of the war while setting things up for the next person to carry his will. That's so beautiful to me, he had free will, he didn't have programs that made him unsusceptible to apathy, he could be affected by hatred just like anyone else yet he didn't give him. He was never programmed to give in or not, he simply made that choice for himself so in a sense, Dr light succeeded.
This is a long list of things to say. So I will split it up into multiple replies. But to keep it simple. Mega Man has not grown tired and more agressive and less merciful. The whole "I am more then a Robot. Die Wily" Is not canon. It's bullshit made up by the English Localization team and is in NO OTHER VERSION of Mega Man 7. Also Mega Man does Die bit lik÷ly after Light is dead. As Dr. Light uses the Robot Masters to hide rhe Capsules around the world.
As for why X was created and the dangers of X. Dr. Light always envisioned a world where Humans and Robots could leave peacefully together as one. He wanted to make a robot that was capable of being a true partner to humanity, and while Robot Masters were smart and human like. They were flawed. But X wasn't. X isn't a robot with AI. He's truly conscious. All things considered X would be powerless without the massively powerful weapons that Light made for him. But Light made them because he knew that X would need them in the time to come. Light spent his entire time with the Robot Master Platform, stopping Dr. Wily and his attempts at world domination. Light knew that Wily would be preparing something long after his end too. And so he prepared X with the means to protect the world. But he knew that X would need to be trained and prepared to use these weapons and also not turn against humanity. So X was tested for 30 years. Because Mega Man could simply be programmed with Justice. abut not X, X had Free Will. X could do whatever he so pleased, and so had to be trained with Dr. Light's ideals.
The story begins in 30 years ago, September 18, 20XX. Dr Thomas Light created “X” as a new generation robot with ability to think, feel, and make their own decisions.
I always guessed he and Roll ended up with Dr. Cossack and his family. The reason I say this is because Rock and Roll would likely be decommissioned after Light’s death due to expiry law and no longer being seen as useful. Light and Cossack are known to be colleagues and Kalinka is stated to be friends with Roll in many pieces of media, so it seems likely Light would entrust the Cossack Family with “custody” of the two, as he’s already a father. (and Kalinka is 9, meaning Cossack is likely in his late 20’s-early 30’s)
I’ve always believed Dr. Light upgraded Megaman into X, or took his programming/circuits at least. 1993 Capcom probably meant that cause it makes no sense for the original to be wandering around. Blue boy needed a makeover.
1993 Capcom had an internal doc with a "basic lore flowchart", it says something like "Dr. Light ---> created Megaman - - - - > (diagonal dotted arrow) inspired the X project", and similarly says "Dr Light & Dr Wily ---> Protoman -----> (diagonal arrow) used as reference for the Zero Project"
it'd be kind of interesting if Dr Light actually made a robot like Roll, who ends up waking up between X-zero series, but it's called Megaman Y, and she turns any household item into a weapon of destruction
Playing megaman x 4 and getting the upgrades then seeing doctor light in those holograms is like messages left for x all those times I thought he is talking with doctor light but no its a message from a dead person 😔

People say that Zero killing the cast doesn't make sense, yet they don't explain why it doesn't make sense. Just that it doesn't. xD Folks had mentioned that Wily died before he released Zero, but it makes me wonder why does Zero have dreams of Wily ordering Zero to kill his rival? Also robots live for a long time. I know they have a certain expiration, but you'd think there would be someone around Light when he was making X and Light specifically said he had no one to carry out his work or task. I haven't really heard Keiji offer anything that made more sense anyway. And of course, Light made X for a reason. Obviously it wasn't to combat Wily. Wily at this point was no longer a threat, and likely died from Zero, due to his instability. If Wily WAS around and still a threat, why would Light make a robot like X and then seal him away in a capsule? Doesn't make any sense for him to do that. I would think that Zero was too powerful for the main cast and killed them all, but Mega Man sacrifices himself to stop Zero. It only was strong enough to put him in stasis mode, where he's found way later by reploids and then reactivated, therefore causing Sigma and his team to go after him. In the OVA, nobody was even around Light when he was making X. Doesn't anyone find that strange? Mega Man, Roll, Beat, Rush, ect are all mysteriously gone while Light is working on his magnum opus. Light devoted all his time to make someone like X. He wanted someone who was sentient, but if Mega Man and the other robots WERE around, why not just upgrade them? X was never an upgraded robot, as it was shown that he was being built from scratch. The other robots were gone and it doesn't make sense for them to expire all around at the same time. Obviously something serious happened to them.
@@megaman2644 It may not be official but of course it's not the same anymore because if you change something, it literally won't be the same like the way it was. This raises a few questions abour Classic Mega Man. It's been shown that Rock chose to become Mega Man beucase of his sense of justice. Not to mention, a lot of the Robot Masters are shown to have some level of intelligence/sentience. For example: Magic Man joining King's army just to show off in Megaman & Bass. If X is the first robot to have free will, how sentient are the old Robot Masters and Mega Man? Do they have human like intelligence but lack true free will? Are they smart enought to think for themselves, but have to follow certain rules of robotics in their coding until they are tampered? Or are they just pre programed with all of these personalities and are actually just empty shells all along?
Precisely, the Original Series robots don't have free will and they are programmed with their "personality quirks" (as that blasted webcomic from 20 years ago would put it). They have their rules set in and think, learn and make decisions under that set of rules. Protoman is someone who due to his unfinished state is a total loose cannon, and has no rules, but still in practice doesn't have much free will beyond "my life has no rules." In contrast, X and the Reploids are true AI starting from a blank slate, X develops a sense of justice (and later and most importantly, pacifism) on his own.
the robots in classic not only have their personalities programmed into them but also can't defy asimov's laws of robotics, while the reploids are 100% free to be whoever and do whatever they want even if it means turning on humans

Not necessarily true, the Mavericks in X3 were infected by the Virus, half of the ones in X6 are acting out of loyalty. In X7 they were also infected by the Sigma virus. The ones in X8 are the only ones that were doomed from the start.
There is a popular theory suggesting Dr. Light may be the first ever Cyber Elf controlling all the capsules for X (If you've played the Mega Man Zero series before, You'll know what Cyber Elves are), So that could count him as alive.
I suppose you could've guessed that Dr. Light expected worst times for X to face in the next century years. He placed his data to the armor part capsules. But this speaks different in Megaman X5, even before Zero Space anomaly happened, it's seen that Dr. Light able to communicate with Zero in real time. Zero Space anomaly that happened in mmx5 timeline spawned a theory of the recovery of X after Sigma final fight where he "hid himself where he tried to repair himself" is actually Dr. Light who saved x from his only torso to be completely recovered. That was the space anomaly where the reality crushed by the holograms, network and digital worlds combined, caused by tremendously strong Zero virus, the original plot device before Sigma virus.

Makes me wonder how he managed to get funding to make him in the first place without anyone knowing. I get Willy since his probably has tons of secret bases and all the funds are stolen. But Light is getting his funding from sponsors and probably the government. So how he hide and explain all the purchase to make Megaman X is something I'm curious with.

Well that More Than Just a Robot quote was a localization addition not in the original script anyways
Dr. Light I will use this power to fight for justice to fight for hope to live your legacy

The story begins in 30 years ago, September 18, 20XX. Dr Thomas Light created “X” as a new generation robot with ability to think, feel, and make their own decisions.
20XX
My guess is 2088

It’s still crazy to me that X was the one robot that inspired Dr Cain to make a whole new generation of robots just like X
Can't help but wonder where the original mega man is during all this
X was built from the remains of Megaman
No one knows. There is a popular theory, known as cataclysm theory, that Zero killed Megaman when he was a maverick, but the creators debunked it.
If X has a girlfriend.

I don't know why but I cried a lot at this.
@@bluebirdsigmaI seriously believe Duo inspired X's both design and purpose.
(When talking about canon, not real life order of events, of course.)
Ever since I was a little boy everytime I see the date 20XX on MegaMan X, I keep thinking its 2088
it'd be kind of interesting if Dr Light actually made a robot like Roll, who ends up waking up between X-zero series, but it's called Megaman Y, and she turns any household item into a weapon of destruction

THIS IS SO SAD BROOOO 😢😢😢
We need that Ost of the scene!!
X you are the world's one trully hope... that means for that time Megaman (classic) is already dead or it turned to a bad guy

UberTuberBackPacker. The fact is that Megaman is not the same robot as X
@@megaman2644 It may not be official but of course it's not the same anymore because if you change something, it literally won't be the same like the way it was. It also wasn't official that the original Megaman was dead or killed by Zero. The title itself being "Megaman X" just makes anyone conclude that Megaman is X but different.
@@Alouette_EXE Megaman and X are two separate robots, and that's pretty much end of discussion.
@@miku-rt4dr I can just repeat what I said again.

And end it right here.
My theory is that rockman wipe out all of the evil then died with Dr wily but wily has created a robot that will wipe out the humanity one day and had created zero virus and Dr light knew that wily has a plan for the future and created x technically the upgraded rockman
Where I cried:
R.I.P. dr light
F light
Not necessarily true, the Mavericks in X3 were infected by the Virus, half of the ones in X6 are acting out of loyalty.
In X7 they were also infected by the Sigma virus.
The ones in X8 are the only ones that were doomed from the start.
Is Dr light dead or did he upload he's mind in those holograms
There is a popular theory suggesting Dr. Light may be the first ever Cyber Elf controlling all the capsules for X (If you've played the Mega Man Zero series before, You'll know what Cyber Elves are), So that could count him as alive.
I think he uploaded his mind to the holograms, because in X5 and X6 he talks to Zero and they have a dialog
Why couldn't we get this voice of Dr. Light in mvc infinite?
Classic era- the most interesting and confusing era
X era- the most badass and saddest era
The zero era- the most nothing era (i guess...)
The leegends era: the most really confusing and tricky era
The ZX era- the most shonen era.
The Zero era - The post sigma virus maverick/cyber elf war era and the end of both X & Zero.
The zero era is a sad epilogue to the x era
The ZX games do help explain the Legends games a little. Reploids and humans are starting to become one in ZX, and the carbons in Legends are artificial humans who can replace parts of their bodies with technology.
the zero era is the saddest one by far

Makes me wonder how he managed to get funding to make him in the first place without anyone knowing.
I get Willy since his probably has tons of secret bases and all the funds are stolen.
But Light is getting his funding from sponsors and probably the government.
So how he hide and explain all the purchase to make Megaman X is something I'm curious with.
Well, Wily might've had gone away with some military contracts at some point in his life.
But the materials he used for his robots were most likely stolen, yeah.

My favorite is X but I'm confuse the X stand for infinite potential?
Yes, "X" is the most used variable in mathematical operations so it can mean anything, that's why he says X represents limitless potential

Anyone knows Lemon Browning from Super Robot Taisen OG and her W-number series? What if she and Dr Light exist in the same universe and same time period?
why is Dr. Light all alone? Why is Roll not around to help him? Where's Rush?
I always like to think X is Megaman. He could have a combination of Rock, Roll and Blues' parts then upgraded to make a new Megaman. He maybe "Megaman" but he's not Rock.
I think Dr. Light made X as an upgraded Megaman but at the league of Duo.
Dr light acts more like a mother than a creator

Zero is better
