    It made me so happy to hear you say that you don’t judge people on their efforts in school because you don’t know their circumstances. Through most of high school I didn’t try AT ALL. I skipped school, I didn’t do homework etc, and I got a lot of judgement about it. BUT when I went into foster care and finally got a good set of parents, I suddenly was trying SO HARD, managed to get university acceptance and a few scholarships. Turns out I was smart all along, just had a lot of trouble at home and no one cared if I worked hard!

      My dad used to have a lot of anger management issues, they mostly manifested when I got home with a bad grade, specially in math, I was good, but nowhere near some of my friends, once he began to control them and support me in so many other ways, my grades, along with my mood got so much better, once I stopped being scared to bring home a 7, I mostly stopped getting them.
      I should be the girl who believes this, that those who don’t do good are just not trying, for a time I even forgot how everything changed with just that one thing, this really made me remember how privileged I am to have a family that cares so much for my future and education, now, I just want to help

    From your kindness and politeness I can tell that you were raised by loving and sportive parents. A lot of people are raised in a toxic home yet they are very kind, but they somehow lack motivation and self love. It’s just amazing how parents can influence our lives. My parents take advantage of me and my siblings, making me skip university so they can go on vacations, taking our salary, manipulating us and throwing their responsibilities on us. And me especially because I’m the oldest girl. Seeing you and how loving you’re parents are and how happy you are truly does make me happy. I hope one day to get married and leave this house, I imagine my home would be like your home, warm and cozy. I don’t understand people who are jealous from others who have everything that they don’t, you Ruby have everything that I wish for but I can’t but feel happy for you. So be happy for those of us that can’t! You have no idea how you’re videos have helped me, I watch your videos everyday, I even rewatch your old ones, that’s how much you’ve changed my life.🖤🖤🖤

Ruby is right we don't know people's lives. For example, there is 800,000 young carers in the UK.820,000 children go to school without breakfast. I really love how you addressed the assumptions about your socialising patterns and initiating conversations. It bothers me that some people seem to think that introverts have less of a social life just because we don’t become friends with EVERYONE we meet. Seeing a few close friends frequently is a just as exciting, if not much better, social life than going clubbing every weekend with a big group of people

    Many times the bullying isn’t about the person it’s directed at, but is due to pain within the bully caused by something (often unmet needs or some type of dilemma rooted in the upbringing etc).
    But sometimes it is as you say, Ruby, about assumptions.
    Only thing that is certain is that someone who bully others is not in a good place emotionally or they wouldn’t feel the need to hurt others.
    To not stay silent when you see things that are off can help so much, and for all you know it might be the catalyst to end such behavior.
    You’re always allowed to say something even if you think it will make you feel great discomfort. To stay silent is in a way to agree with such behavior instead of calling it out.

    • @bellac6311
      @bellac6311 3 роки тому

      Yeah, but the bully isnt the victim of the situation. Ive had friends that were bullied, but their problems were ignored because the person bullying them apparently had "anger issues". Like, no you hold rhe person accountable no matter what, and you treat the actual victim as the victim, not the bully as the victim.

    You don't have to feel angst for your privilege. Remember your parents didn't create this lovely life for you only for you to feel bad, and also you have taken what has been given and made the most of it. You should be happy, and if you choose to help those less fortunate, do so but from a place of feeling good with yourself.

    What you said at 7:43 made me reflect. I don't know how it is in UK, but in my country you are basically forced to go to school, you are forced to learn things that sometimes are not even interesting for you and for the person you are/want to be. It's not even a free choice. I've never thought about it as a privilege, and now I try imagine what would I be today if I've never had the opportunity to study. I would certainly be more ignorant and I couldn't appreciate some of the great things that this humanity has made, like art. In that moment I realize that studying and learning are the most beautiful things ever, but it's just people who ruin them and make them awful. So young people give up, they are not even attracted to those things, they don't see the greatness in them and they can't find a reason to learn them.

    About the Jane Austen assumption. Although Austen is one of my favourite authors, I can understand why you don’t like her works. Everybody has their own opinions and likings!
