well done...too bad for me, the nearest date is 300 miles away.. I DID see her in 2012 and I paid 200 dollars for being WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY up in the rafters near the ceiling of the arena, laugh....still great concert.

OMG, I’m so relieved you love this song! It’s definitely in my top 5 Madonna ballads. The video is a masterpiece, directed once again by David Fincher. Lots of Easter eggs in it. This was the third single off Erotica after Deeper & Deeper. She only performed this song once live on SNL and it was amazing. Would pass out if Madonna ever performed it live again lol. One thing I noticed after years - all the Erotica song titles sound purposefully dirty, but very few are. Deeper & Deeper, Bad Girl, Why’s it So Hard, etc.. Madonna/Dita is messing with us ✌
I know right and with the backlash and coservatism happening at the time, it was not helping her. Musicly and lyricly there was not much scandal on Erotica but them going nuts over the Erotica video and the book overshadowed amazing songs like Bad Girl and Rain completely.
@@Marc-zi5cq Absolutely! Watching Empress listen to the album without the context of the book and visuals is a trip. Everything was lumped together by the press and general public, but they are mostly separate entities! For this one you had to be there
Empress you're 💯. Madonna really emotes and sells this song🔥🔥. She sounds like a regretful bad girl. She seems like one of those characters from old movies portrayed by Bette Davis or one of the silver screen ladies.
🫦🥃 This song is exquisite. So moody and dramatic like a 90s neo-noir thriller (no spoilers on the video… but maybe you saw that already! I took such a long pause so there’ll be lots for me to watch in a row instead of waiting so long between Madonna reactions). The line you’re asking about is “Bad girl, drunk by 6.” I always interpreted it, for YEARS, as her saying she’d always been a bad girl even when she was 6 years old!! I think I’d morphed it with Drew Barrymore’s memoir of her drug and alcohol addicted childhood, Little Girl Lost, which had been published in 1991 and would have influenced my read on that line. It was years before I realised she actually means she was drunk by 6pm. And yeah, this is Madonna’s lyricism and Shep’s deep 90s drama with the glow of a rain slicked New York street. Stunning song from beginning to end. Her vocals are so real and they have that incredible tension between yearning, sometimes straining, but landing in such a rich, warm texture in her lower notes. Imperfect as the woman she’s embodying in the song, and always conveying authentic emotion. PS: Now I know you didn’t just say there haven’t been any real vocals till now, when track 4 is Deeper and Deeper!! She belts in that song, and though it isn’t the warm, emotive and gorgeously flawed mastery she displays on Bad Girl, it still brings the vocals! Justice for Deeper and Deeper!
I knew you’d throw up 10’s baby. This song is too gorgeous and I love the live version from SNL. I got my tour tickets yesterday, for London in October. Would be truly magical if she performed this once more for us. 💙
I love this song so much, even though it is sad and heartbreaking. When you are young (20's), If you can not be with the one you love, you go out of your way to do anything to feel better. It's self destructive. I think that's why a lot of people can relate to this song. I do love her vocals on this song and would absolutely love to hear her sing it live on this tour but, sadly I don't think that's going to happen.
Bad Girl is my jam! very R&B esque, vulnerable, personal lyrics. You will get more of this on this album, now we're in the middle of the album and around my favorite songs of the album. Waiting the next one is just as good. I knew you would throw up some more 10s during this album journey, we're only halfway in but i think you get now how the album was misunderstood. All the scandal around Erotica video and the book and songs like these flew under the radar unfortunately. It was the third single and has one of my favorite Madonna videos of all time. There's a live performance on SNL as well, with liveband and great live vocals from the lady herself. This must be one of her most underrated singles ever. I love it so much and the video takes it to the next level. Masterpiece.
I really like how the titles on this album come up against what you expect them to be. Songs like deeper and deeper and bad girl definitely make you expect something based on the title and theme of the album. But the lyrics end up being very vulnerable. And songs like where life begins (which sounds more poetic) fit entirely within the theme. I don’t wanna spoil it but there are other songs that come up later that make you expect one thing and give you another.
this song is a grower, so if ur vibing already, this is gonna worm its way into ur heart after a few listens :) also, u really need to check out the video, it's pretty good
I like that you brought up the raw vocals. They really lend something special to the song. There are little imperfections and slight variations each time she sings the pre-chorus and chorus that you absolutely would not find on a major release album these days where vocals and instrumentation are oversanitized. Just one of many reasons I tend to gravitate toward older music in general.
Almost all vocals now are auto tuned on the radio and I personally can’t stand it. I want to hear the emotion in someone’s voice, not a ‘perfect’ robotic inhuman sound. Sadly M is using it more and more and I wish she’d drop it. She doesn’t need it. It’s fine if it’s a vocoder and she deliberately wants to mess with the sound judicially, but auto tune all over the track sucks
The 90s in my opinion she gives her best vocals raw vocals. I believe her voice fully matured at this time and with the next two albums before she received vocals lessons for Evita which she drastically changed the way she sings! I really miss her original tone during this time!
I love EVERYTHING that you loved about this song - the raw passionate vocals, the lyrics, the synths. It's a shame that it didn't do well as the 3rd single from the album BUT we got what I consider maybe the best, most cinematic video M has ever made. David Fincher directed, co-starring Christopher Walken as her guardian angel, and filmed all over the west village and Chelsea in NYC - I can't WAIT for you to see this video!
She was still suffering from backlash from the public and the press..so this was her first song in years to not make the top 20..it's still a fan favorite..
The collaborative performance director David Fincher & Madonna carefully crafted for Louise Oriole in the '93 'Bad Girl' video was far superior to Eli Udel's carelessly exploitative mishandling of Rebecca Carlson in 'Body of Evidence'. IMO, 'Bad Girl' would've played better as a remake of "Looking for Mr. Goodbar", which at that time in Madonna's career should've silenced all critics regarding her acting skill.
She just announced her new tour; which will be a celebration of the last 40 years of hits! #thecelebrationtour! The video to this song is very cinematic!
So glad you are here for Bad girl! Such a beautiful song. And like others pointed out a great music video accompanying it with the great Christopher Walken.
I try not to attempt predicting Empress's 10s, but when we were 2 lines in and you started snapping your fingers, I knew we had one! Probably my favorite track on Erotica. And as everyone else has stated....omg the video! But definitely when we first heard this, my friends and I all insisted she was singing about every single one of us 😉😀😁 We were ALL like "no, b!tch, this is MY song!"
Off topic but omg Empress I got tickets for her tour in Chicago a day after my birthday (my birthday show was sold out) - I'm so excited, my first Madonna tour
I got tickets to see her in Cologne, Berlin was sold out too quickly, so i'm travelling. It was a Now Or Never thing for me. With Madonna and a Greatest Hits Show, you really can do nothing wrong, sooo many hits.
I was hoping to see 10s for this one. 😊I played this album endlessly but especially love this track. The video is my all-time fave of hers; it's a perfect mix of the films Wings of Desire and Looking for Mr. Goodbar directed by David Fincher.
This is why the saying 'all good things come to those that wait' is a thing... you went through several songs of different genres and singing styles before ending up on one of the stronger songs on this album in terms of emotion/heart....I have a feeling you'll be throwing up 10's again as you continue listening to the rest of the songs. Music video for this song is a mini movie :)
Erotica is thematically cohesive but musically very diverse. There are threads running through most of the tracks… hip hop, dance, house, jazz… but when you think about it, it’s rather experimental and I think it makes sense that a new listener will gravitate towards certain tracks and maybe not others. I think E is going to like the back half of this album, based on the songs she’s given 🔟🔟🔟s for. I can’t wait to see how this turns out 🧐
Wait until you see the video. I loved Bad Girl instantly seeing it for first time on MTV back in 1993. It was a hit but it should've been a bigger hit in my opinion. Your reaction says it all.
This song and album has a much more raw production than most of her albums. They didn't want to over stuff it, they also wanted vocals to be raw, so most were sung in one take.
M is typically a ‘one take’ artist for most of her albums. But yah, they definitely wanted a grittier sound on the album overall… though towards the end of the album there are more polished tracks…
This song was such an unexpected Bop for me. I think it threw me off at first then it grew to become one of my favorite songs from this album. That chorus just gets stuck in your head! Agree with other commenters indicating how stunning the video is for this song. Can’t wait for your reaction to that 😃! Loving your reactions as always Empress!!❤
Also this song gets better with each listen, i think it is personal and she's not Dita here. The video is so real, i think alot of people in their 20s and 30s in a big city can relate, it represented the lyrics perfectly. Can't wait for you to see it! I think you might get obsessed with it too, since we are usually vibing and the song alone is already soo good! The producer recalled how, as the recording sessions progressed, the melodies became more melancholic; he noted that Madonna's stories made the songs "a lot more serious and intense", leading them into a "deeply personal territory".[4] Similarly, Shimkin said that "Bad Girl", along with fellow album track "In This Life", was a song that the singer had a "really deep personal attachment" to, but didn't notice this until the album was completed.[7][9] He added: "['Bad Girl' is] one of those songs, like 'Oh Father' or 'Papa Don't Preach', where she really calls on her own emotions and experiences. She's never afraid to expose herself emotionally."[9] Pettibone, however, said that he never thought of "Bad Girl" as autobiographical, but as a song people could relate to.[7]
I don't really think it's very personal. She's a serial monogamist and, being Madonna, I don't think one night stands were really something she could do at the time. It's obviously inspired by some personal feelings, but I think it was very much in character. Maybe not Dita, but sort of like "Love Tried to Welcome Me." She also never really smoked outside of fashion shoots and videos.
@@FindingMadonna hmm well Shep said so ;) I actually think she did smoke pre getting Lourdes in the 90s. We never know what she did in her private time, if she ever got any but she did smoke on the Making The Video MTV thing for Take A Bow in 1994. I don't know if she had one night stands but maybe after a relationship a few short affairs or two or three one night stands could happen. She was famous but the media was not in her bedroom or whoever she was seeing. Does not mean she picked up the next person on the street but probably met many other powerful, successful people on parties or in the industry as well. It seems too heartfelt and with the video and all, for some reason i don't think it's completely fictional but we will never know.
I had read that this song is the consequence of living like Erotica, Deeper and Deeper, etc. Being a Bad Girl. Also, there was no social media then, so I wouldn't believe all that Madonna tells you. Also, this song is one of my all time M favorites. I know everyone loves it, but the SNL performance is good, not great. I feel bad having written that, and it's been forever since I've seen it. Maybe I'll be able to listen with fresh ears when you get to it. By the way, Christopher Walken plays Death in the video. I mention this because many other reactors have had a challenge figuring that out. It's not a spoiler. Loving your reactions as per usual. You surprise me a little, and I may even disagree, but it's smart and gives me new insight. And, that's not easy when it comes to the Erotica album. So, thank you, and congratulations on baby! 🌟
The video is all that and more. Honestly this is the song that made me a madonna fan, i just love the harmonies and her vocals are so raw. Believe it or not this was a flop in madonna terms. Also check out her live version on snl. Talking about bring vocals, she was so good that night her guitarist seemed to be enjoying her. This track along with another from bedtime story will always be my top 2 fav tracks.
I adore this song. Glad you enjoyed it, hopefully you will listen to it again and it goes on your playlist. As someone else mentioned her performance on snl of this song is stripped back and raw and vulnerable. It’s wonderful. Take care. Excited for your new bundle of joy coming any day now 🙏🏼❤️
***MADONNA "BAD GIRL" (EROTICA) TRIVIA TIME!!*** ...I don't wanna feel bluuuue... (2:30) ....but, Empress damn sure WON'T, when she sees the VIDEO! ...This was the 3rd single from the Album, and it brings emotive heart to the "Erotica" project...a tale of a Girl looking for "Mr. Goodbar", yet, finding herself drunk by 6.... - ...this tune was caught in the crossfire of the "Erotica / Sex / Body Of Evidence" backlash, and peaked at #36 Pop (Feb., 1993), which was a shocker, for someone who had a streak of Top 10's for 11 Years straight (then).... - ...and, as Empress will read in the comments, the VIDEO is a damn MASTERPIECE, and actually rivals any of her MOVIES! ...her perfomance(s) of this tune & "Fever" on S-N-L, was a game changer for Madge soldering on, after the backlash.... - ...the CD-5 of this tune was possibly One of her BEST singles, with the extended versions of both 'Bad Girl' / 'Fever' & new mixes of "Fever" that were her NASTIEST mixes up to that date, showing. that she was CREATING The 90's....
This song is fantastic. I am so glad you liked it Empress! This whole "Erotica" era is so layered, it shows her intelligence in new ways and it is just so well crafted on all levels. Thank you for sharing this entire journey with us Empress. I have not had the chance to congratulate you and your husband on the pregnancy and the starting of your royal family. You will be fantastic parents and "knowing" you from just your online presence it is clear that you will be an absolutely fantastic mother. Congratulations to you both.
It's such a shame this song ended her streak, although the next single afterwards went top 20 again. I think this song might be too real, too sophisticated, too grown up for Top 40 radio. I'm glad she released it as a single though and gave us the masterpiece of a video.
This is an amazing song and the video (directed by David Fincher who also did Vogue and Express Yourself) is not only one of Madonna's best videos, but one of the best videos ever made (starring Christopher Walken)!
When I first saw the "Bad Girl" title, I thought about Donna Summer's "Bad Girls". Or Mae West in "I'm No Angel" when she says, "When I'm good, I'm VERY good. But when I'm bad, I'm better!". But after listening to her song, it sounds like maybe some regret about not being able to make her marriage to Sean Penn work.
I'm glad you like it! Back then, after so much backlash, it did manage to crack the UK top 10 (also in Italy, Finland), but it became her first song SINCE HER DEBUT not to reach the top 20 in the US. It peaked at 36 :(
Drunk by 6 meaning 6pm. Early. But yea this is the fruition of Madonna for me and also one of the reasons I love 90s music. Love the production of much of the music in that era. Can't wait for your reaction to the video!
Man, how I can relate to this one at a certain stage in my life that I'm glad I got through! To me this is a different, contemplative and reflective Madonna who, at this stage in her life probably had been or put herself through some sh*t! Video to this is really sad, dark and brilliantly shot in my opin! Glad you liked this...but you missed it on Deeper and Deeper! 😂 😲 😜
This album was never felt sexual in a sexy way. It felt sexual in a defiant way. She used sex as a weapon and the album ran the gamut of all the ways sex can impact relationships; good, bad, and ugly. This song is not single material at all but I think it was necessary to humanize Madonna. She wasn’t just a raving nympho, she had a heart. A lot of people go through rebellious, reckless phases to cope with feelings of sadness. It isn’t always about pleasure seeking.
@@EmpressReacts I do love the way the song builds to a crescendo and she drives the chorus home as the song progresses. I feel like her vocals are kind of buried by the music though. This song didn’t perform too well on the charts but the melody is pretty and the video is stunning so I am happy it was a single.
Empress you were asking a few songs back whether the whole album was Madonna playing the part of Dita. Have you ever seen a movie or show that has a narrator who comes on in between scenes and talks to the audience, sets the scene? That's what I think Dita does on this album, and Madonna also plays the part of the main character, herself. You never really know if it's Dita or Madonna talking, but they are both present to some degree in every song. It's kind of like a wink-wink "It's not really me ...or is it?" You will see this idea repeated in the near future when you see the Girlie Show tour ...but no spoilers! lol
Fun fact, after she recording the demo, she decides to not re-recording again. So it's a one take song and the demo was almost like the final product (except few minor changes). Later, during the summer 1992, she adding the string arrangement and the opening piano to complete the song (since it's not in the demo) This song talk about a hard subject, about a woman deal with drugs, smoking and alcool problems, unsatisfied with her condition. Madonna say in a BBC radio interview that this song wasn't autobiographical and was a story about that. A taboo subject who Madonna lived with no taboo in this song. The video, directed by David Fincher, explained perfectly the message of this song. This song was a mid-tempo RnB ballad. Shep Pettibone made many underground songs in this album (like the title track or ''Bye Bye Baby''), but for this song, ''In This Life'' and ''Rain'', theses three songs remains more a mid-tempo RnB ballad then the others songs who Shep produced in this album. This was the third single of this album after the title-track and ''Deeper and Deeper''. After the song debut in radios, the song was rejected by radios and particulary AC radios, the last cited the reason to the subject was too hard and shocking for the AC format radios. This song was not supported by pop radios like the AC radios. This is the reason why this song was not successful and was her first single to not reaching the top 20 (only peaked at n.36 in US in may 1993) since ''Holiday'' made her first Madonna entry in US charts at the top 20. Everywhere, it's was also the same thing, this song was not successful, example in UK, this song debuting at n.10 before to falling out and after five weeks, the song dissepear the charts. She only singing this song live once (in the Saturday Night Live'' show) and never performed again after the ''Saturday Night Live''.
Ugh I remember a DJ at Z100 in NY played it and said "Here's Madonna's new song" and then stopped the song after one verse and said "Nobody wants to hear that" and laughed. It was so horrible.
Well, she doesn’t smoke and she didn’t do drugs (though I think she might dabble now) but the moral flexibility on dating… well, there may be some autobiographical points there… lol… no judgement
Justice for the Erotica album is starting, y’all. 2 🔟🔟🔟s in a row! Isn’t Bad Girl track 6, tho? Anyway, glad you were vibing to this track. Definitely a beautiful ballad and I agree that the ‘imperfect’ vocal helps convey the inner turmoil and pain the narrator of the song is feeling. I think M was dating Tupac, Vanilla Ice (gross) and possibly Ingrid Casares around this time, so maybe she was being a bit of a ‘bad girl’. Only Dita knows for sure…
Hi Empress, i recommend you react to this fantastic, electronic, hip hop, funk soul piece: "The Crown", written and sung by Gary Bird and the phenomenal legend Stevie Wonder!!

Madonna was so hated because if Sex Book and Body of Evidence that no matter how great the video and single it hardly go no radio play. I only heard the song on MTV. Here is from wiki: Bad Girl" became Madonna's first single to not reach the top 30 or top 20 of the Hot 100, breaking a streak of 27 consecutive top 20 singles that began with "Holiday" (1983) and ended with "Deeper and Deeper", as well as her lowest-charting song since "Oh Father" (1989).[
@@EmpressReacts its nit the next track but it is another amazing song with amazing video. I do not think no other Madonna era beats this videos for erotica
This was another track I was hoping for tens on. After you watch the video for this track, skip Body of Evidence because this video is basically the same story but 100 times better. (This is the one single off this album that never has gotten a tour performance, because it charted low and Madonna generally doesn't enjoy playing her ballads outside of Live to Tell)
@@EmpressReacts It's her movie that comes out in this era. Widely panned, but it *might* have done better if Basic Instinct hadn't been released slightly earlier. But don't watch it, it's terrible.

hello, love this song and the video is my all time fav of madonna. little curiosity about the erotica disc for this disc madonna I use the cheapest microphones around to get a dirtier and more sensual voice. in an italian interview madonna described the erotica record not a sex record, but a record about love seen in all its forms
And wait for the seventh track, ''Waiting'' (''Bad Girl'' was the sixth track). Not one of my favorites the next track, because my favorites was ''Deeper and Deeper'', ''Bad Girl'', ''Rain'', ''Words'' and ''In this Life''.

@@EmpressReacts it’s already sold out in many cities. You’re gonna have to hurry, unless a generous Empressionist gets you a ticket 🤣🤣🤣 I’d love to see a YT short of you and Pressure entering the stadium, or rocking out to Like a Prayer ;)
I have a weird relationship with this song that makes me feel like I can never been totally objective about it. It's the only traditional pop ballad on the album and I always felt like (similar to "This Used to Be My Playground") that Pat Leonard or someone else would have been a better collaborator on it. Shep was a dance producer and the drums on this kind of feel ... cheap to me? My opinion is also kind of impacted by how hard the single flopped (in relative terms to her past hits). It was really devastating because I do think it's a beautiful song and I love the lyrics and vocal arrangements. Overall, a nice song and the video is fire (so is her SNL performance), but it's not my favorite track on the album. Also, I disagree with you Empress that it's the first song where she brings the vo-caaaaals. No matter what you think of the song itself, she sings the sh*t out of "Deeper and Deeper"! "I'm never gonna hide it again!" 😆
It's kind of sad that similarly to Oh Father a couple of years earlier, this single got overlooked at the time. When Madonna digs deep and does heartfelt ballads, for some reason if the lyrical content goes too deep, radio seemed uninterested to play her. Also obviously here the Madonna backlash was in full swing. She really did not deserve it and just like Oh Father she delivered a music video that is a piece of art. Even better than Oh Father, both song and video for me. At least she went top 10 in the UK with Bad Girl. Wait til you see the video to get completely lost in it and obsessed, if it's already in your top 5 Madonna ballads.
I like the song but I feel like the narrative is a laid on a bit too thick. “Bad girl, drunk by six, kissing some kind strangers lips…” it’s one of those “story telling” songs that can feel heavy in its description.
Glad you love it Empress, it’s a favorite of this era. But to say this is Madonna finally bringing the vocal? Disagree. Deeper and Deeper has some big Madonna vocal range within it’s disco explosion!

💯🔥
I really like how the titles on this album come up against what you expect them to be. Songs like deeper and deeper and bad girl definitely make you expect something based on the title and theme of the album. But the lyrics end up being very vulnerable. And songs like where life begins (which sounds more poetic) fit entirely within the theme. I don’t wanna spoil it but there are other songs that come up later that make you expect one thing and give you another.
Interesting!
One of her best songs and videos and the performance on SNL is also one of her best
Can't wait to 👀
Amazing song, her delivery elevates it and the video is my favourite music video ever...deffo check that live performance too.
She says 🎵 "Bad Girl, drunk by 6, kissing someone else lips".🎶
Drunk - oh I thought she was saying jump
this song is a grower, so if ur vibing already, this is gonna worm its way into ur heart after a few listens :) also, u really need to check out the video, it's pretty good
I definitely am. I always listen to the album first and then the video
Yaaaas‼️ We're a vibe ✨️
Almost all vocals now are auto tuned on the radio and I personally can’t stand it. I want to hear the emotion in someone’s voice, not a ‘perfect’ robotic inhuman sound. Sadly M is using it more and more and I wish she’d drop it. She doesn’t need it. It’s fine if it’s a vocoder and she deliberately wants to mess with the sound judicially, but auto tune all over the track sucks
Wow you really take me back to how I felt hearing Madonnas music at that time … this was my song… I also love the cover art of this single
Glad you enjoyed ‼️and now I have to Google this single
Hol up! This song wasn't a hit ‼️‼️‼️
@@EmpressReacts unfortunately it peaked at #36.
She was still suffering from backlash from the public and the press..so this was her first song in years to not make the top 20..it's still a fan favorite..
@@EmpressReactsMadonna got too sophisticated for the average Joe.
I knew Empress would get bad girl. Madonna mixes it up by throwing in a raw and vulnerable ballad 😊
😍🔥
Madonna is FIRE.
So glad you are here for Bad girl! Such a beautiful song. And like others pointed out a great music video accompanying it with the great Christopher Walken.

Now if she just performs this song on the new tour I could die a happy man.
Same! Let's tell her!
Has shebever performed itnin tour?
@@EmpressReacts one time on SNL and that's it! Fans have been begging for it forever.
I try not to attempt predicting Empress's 10s, but when we were 2 lines in and you started snapping your fingers, I knew we had one!
Probably my favorite track on Erotica. And as everyone else has stated....omg the video!
But definitely when we first heard this, my friends and I all insisted she was singing about every single one of us 😉😀😁
We were ALL like "no, b!tch, this is MY song!"
😂😂😂😘
I was more Like a Virgin still when this song came out in 92… my Bad Girl phase, minus the cigarettes, came later… I was a late bloomer 🤣🤣🤣
@GraphiqueJack I was 21 and thought I was terribly sophisticated! 🙄 complete with monogrammed cigarette case and fancy Zippo lighter. Smh.
My beautiful Empress. I’m so glad that you love this song.
It’s a masterpiece.
Wait until you watch the video and the live performance.

Yay‼️‼️‼️Congratulations
One of the album highlights for sure, the music video will blow your mind

Love the song, but the video is AMAZING! One of her best! Very cinematic and I love her performance of it on SNL. Glad you liked this song!
🔥🔥🔥
I agree!
The video is so good. Bad girl and live to tell are my favorite Madonna songs. 🙏✌️
I was hoping to see 10s for this one. 😊I played this album endlessly but especially love this track. The video is my all-time fave of hers; it's a perfect mix of the films Wings of Desire and Looking for Mr. Goodbar directed by David Fincher.
Interesting!
Idk if that saying is good when listening or rating an album 😂
Erotica is thematically cohesive but musically very diverse. There are threads running through most of the tracks… hip hop, dance, house, jazz… but when you think about it, it’s rather experimental and I think it makes sense that a new listener will gravitate towards certain tracks and maybe not others. I think E is going to like the back half of this album, based on the songs she’s given 🔟🔟🔟s for. I can’t wait to see how this turns out 🧐
@@EmpressReacts it's always a good saying lol

I loved Bad Girl instantly seeing it for first time on MTV back in 1993.
It was a hit but it should've been a bigger hit in my opinion.
Your reaction says it all.
Thanks 😍
10'sssssssss ... yes!
This video is a classic..she performed it on Saturday Night Live (her only live performance of it)..I'm hoping she does it on this tour
Perhaps the best video she ever made!
👀👀
This song and album has a much more raw production than most of her albums. They didn't want to over stuff it, they also wanted vocals to be raw, so most were sung in one take.
M is typically a ‘one take’ artist for most of her albums. But yah, they definitely wanted a grittier sound on the album overall… though towards the end of the album there are more polished tracks…
Love this song and video is a must-watch.
👀👀
Loooove this track! You NEED to watch the video and her live SNL performance of Bad Girl!!!🔥🙌🏽
She will after the album, it's the videos, then the live performances.
as others commented - can't wait for your reaction to the video
👀👀
This song was such an unexpected Bop for me. I think it threw me off at first then it grew to become one of my favorite songs from this album. That chorus just gets stuck in your head! Agree with other commenters indicating how stunning the video is for this song. Can’t wait for your reaction to that 😃! Loving your reactions as always Empress!!❤
Thanks 😘😘😘
Love this song! Can’t wait for you to see the video 😍😍

@@FindingMadonna hmm well Shep said so ;)
I actually think she did smoke pre getting Lourdes in the 90s.
Great quotes! Can't wait to see the video
The video is a masterpiece, her best video story since papa don't preach and like a prayer
Oooo I'm getting excited ‼️
This is my favourite song of Erotica, definitely. It's beautiful! The video is a masterpiece! You'll love it, for sure

Yeah that I'd shocking!

....but, Empress damn sure WON'T, when she sees the VIDEO! ...This was the 3rd single from the Album, and it brings emotive heart to the "Erotica" project...a tale of a Girl looking for "Mr.
Dang! Can't believe this song flopped so hard‼️
@@EmpressReactsempress you have to try listening to a Madonna maxi single. I suggest Erotica.
Aw, thank you sooo much 😘😘
Due to the backlash of the SEX book, this song wasn’t played on the radio and was her first single to not reach the top 20 on Billboard charts.
It's such a shame this song ended her streak, although the next single afterwards went top 20 again. I think this song might be too real, too sophisticated, too grown up for Top 40 radio. I'm glad she released it as a single though and gave us the masterpiece of a video.
Wow!!! That's crazy!
Been so busy I didn’t even see this came out!! Excited, this music video is awesome & one of my favs 💗
🔥🔥🔥
This is an amazing song and the video (directed by David Fincher who also did Vogue and Express Yourself) is not only one of Madonna's best videos, but one of the best videos ever made (starring Christopher Walken)!
Can't wait to see it!
Chris Walken was one of the best things in the video. And Fincher made it all so cinematic.
One of my favorites of all time !!!! xxx
I'm glad you like it! Back then, after so much backlash, it did manage to crack the UK top 10 (also in Italy, Finland), but it became her first song SINCE HER DEBUT not to reach the top 20 in the US. It peaked at 36 :(
that's crazy!
The video is a masterpiece.

Man, how I can relate to this one at a certain stage in my life that I'm glad I got through! To me this is a different, contemplative and reflective Madonna who, at this stage in her life probably had been or put herself through some sh*t!
Love your comment! But disagree about single material. This is the first song I have heard that sounds like a single imo
@@EmpressReacts I do love the way the song builds to a crescendo and she drives the chorus home as the song progresses. I feel like her vocals are kind of buried by the music though. This song didn’t perform too well on the charts but the melody is pretty and the video is stunning so I am happy it was a single.
Sex as defiance? I love that! Excellent point.
It's kind of like a wink-wink "It's not really me ...or is it?" You will see this idea repeated in the near future when you see the Girlie Show tour ...but no spoilers! lol
interesting!
Oh you need to do the video it's so well done imo!!
I definitely am. I always listen to the album first and then the video
@@EmpressReacts one of my favorite actors is in it. Chris Walken
Fun fact, after she recording the demo, she decides to not re-recording again. So it's a one take song and the demo was almost like the final product (except few minor changes). Later, during the summer 1992, she adding the string arrangement and the opening piano to complete the song (since it's not in the demo)
This song talk about a hard subject, about a woman deal with drugs, smoking and alcool problems, unsatisfied with her condition.
Wow, too serious for AC....I thought that was what AC was for
Well, she doesn’t smoke and she didn’t do drugs (though I think she might dabble now) but the moral flexibility on dating… well, there may be some autobiographical points there… lol… no judgement

This was another track I was hoping for tens on. After you watch the video for this track, skip Body of Evidence because this video is basically the same story but 100 times better.
Reinvention was sort of leaning into her past hits.
😂okay, yeah the vocals were nice on deeper and deeper. And you know what- I didn't shoutout the drums in this song at all. You may have a good poijt
Wouldn’t you say Rain is a pop ballad?? Or do you consider that mid tempo?
Imo this one was more radio friendly that OH Father. They dropped the ball big time
I like the song but I feel like the narrative is a laid on a bit too thick. “Bad girl, drunk by six, kissing some kind strangers lips…” it’s one of those “story telling” songs that can feel heavy in its description.
💯💯imo that's what makes the song stand out more
I love this song when are you going to do waiting?
After I come off maternity leave
Glad you love it Empress, it’s a favorite of this era. But to say this is Madonna finally bringing the vocal? Disagree. Deeper and Deeper has some big Madonna vocal range within it’s disco explosion!
Yeah that was a good lower register smooth Madonna, this vocal was vulnerable, rough, not perfect vocal, quintessential imo😂
