I have the same gun from grandpa who died 2 weeks ago!! Has the holster mines stainless!! He never got a deer with it I missed 1 with it when he was alive last year!!!! We traded it back in forth 3 times before I had it on life time loan!! My grandpa did so much for me over my 31 years of life so thankful!! Top it off he was a stepfather to me!!! You wouldn't have known!!!
Awesome revolver, Super Blackhawk was the first 44 magnum I had the opportunity to shoot. Fell in love with the cartridge. I now have a 44 magnum Ruger Super Redhawk 9 1/2" with 2-7x Burris. Seven mule deer bucks, and a doe with it so far. I use 240 grain Hornady XTP's out to about 65 yards and have never needed to track a wounded deer.
Lots of practice! That Blackhawk, is capable of taking big game beyond 100+ yards. Shooting sticks will be your friend. I run multiple Rugers, Smiths, with red dots, and scoped handguns. Majority, of my single shots are scoped with a pistol scope, or rifle scopes. Get it on a bench, to see how it groups. Than do your field positions.
Hi hope you all doing well i use to use a ruger Blackhawk hunter 44mag for hunting i had a scope on it but couldn't use it did better with out it it's a great gun and have a 17hmr to match

I have one too. Dad gave it to me for Christmas 18 years ago. Mine has open sight. Nice gun you’ve got
Had one just like it but without a scope, Regret getting rid of it

That thing is awesome. Looked one up..... out of my budget but added to the wish list for someday!

That is the one gun I wish I had
We all have our wish list. The bad thing is that mine always keeps growing.

That's awesome. How was it hunting with the 44?
Beautiful firearm. Your Grandfather would be proud. What type of ammo did you use?
