Couldn't agree more. Luckily, spike balls help a lot with contraptions but we are still lacking the things you mentioned. I would even take it a step further and say not having bumpers and one way gates really stunt creativity as well!
Arrowstotle Idea for a video, (whatever number you want), ideas for traditional levels in super Mario maker 2. This would help many creators such and me as well. Also I was wondering if you knew how to make custom sprites in worldmapbuilder.com. I am making an 81 level series in smm2 named, New super Mario Bros 3 Switch with 2 other talented creators. They are all made on my account. The series is nowhere near done, but we are close to finishing world 1, and we’ve got ideas for nearly all levels in each world, but we have a few levels where we have no ideas at all for them. Don’t feel pressured to make a video for this idea, as us 3 creators can probably come up with some new original ideas, but making a video about that topic will not just help me, but all other Traditional Level Creators. I don’t mess around in the 3D World style too much, so I didn’t know a lot of these! This channel has got to have some of the best videos on Mario Maker 2 I’ve seen. Incredible amounts of creativity from the courses featured here!

I love these ideas very much that I might incorporate most of them into a long 3D World level that would work like a Metroid style or LoZ type of level (even though the Master Sword is only available in SMB1). These are really amazing and I haven't seen some of these before used in any other 3D World levels. My particular favorites from this video are the ideas about using Bullies, Track blocks, giant Ant Troopers, Hop Chops and Skipsqueaks. Those puzzle ideas with red POW blocks using Track blocks or Clear Pipes were also very cool!
It'll take some time to build this 3D World level I'm visualizing, but hopefully, it'll be awesome! :)

Something I did with the Bullet Blaster Skipsqueaks was turn them into jumping platforms. You have to time your jumps and strategize to stop them from blocking you and making you fall into a spiky punishment.

3D world probably has the best movement out of all of the 5 game styles, so I appreciate the ideas.

My favourite is Track Block Bonanza because the idea of blocks you can’t see rising out of lava is really cool. And I think you can make some very amazing and creative courses using that idea!
Nice! I wish we could add lava or poison to other themes as well to give some variety. For now, castle is all we get

I really liked the track block bonzanza especially with the boss! (Reminded me of a mini boss in super Mario bros 2 one the 3DS)
Definitely a lot of potential there! Never played DS Mario games, I feel like I’m missing out!
I would recommend you Mario bros on the ds because it’s more challenging and less similar to Mario bros U than the 3DS version. Still, both are really fun!

i tried making a level in 3D World and honestly its a lot harder than the other themes because the only block you can really use for decoration is the ground block, ofcourse there are others but in it you’re missing the bridge block and a hard block of sorts.

Another idea with red pow blocks:
They can activate ? blocks and bricks with an item inside, so using this with blocks that have enemies can reveal traditional obstacles. I’ve never seen anyone use this simple contraption

I always find 3-D world levels to be dull because the unique items and enemies are always just sort of there. These creative uses open up some amazing opportunities!

One idea I came up with is using blue track blocks in a boss battle with the bottom layer of it covered in lava which forces mario to jump from platform to platform to survive until a p switch clock activated which reveals the exit/flagpole

Arrowstotle, are you ever gonna do a video about the grassland theme? There aren't enough good ideas for that theme going around, and I think there are some cool ones, for example, trees with Red blocks as apples that can be picked and regrown by an on/off block. I actually have a more traditional level like that that I need to upload!
I definitely plan to. It’s hard to find ideas that are specific to the ground theme.

Can you stack the pows get in to the clear pipes and cheese it
Red blocks need to be within 5 blocks, not 6. You can see that there are 5 blocks between the first and second pow block at 2:02, and all 2 blocks are not destroyed, but not the pow block that is within 6 blocks away.
Just letting you know...
