Especially as MM2 is pretty much dead, most people don’t even play the levels anymore. If they made MM3, everyone would actually care about the levels and there would be a decent reason to upload them.
The problem with 3d is similar to the problem of giving players 2d freedom. Anyone can make exactly what they want now, so Nintendo will have to think ENTIRELY outside the box if they're picking up 2d Mario again. The same can be said for 3d. Obviously, this is actually sort of a good thing because thinking outside the box is what makes a game good, but it makes things incredibly hard for Nintendo and as a result, unlikely. Edit:After some time, Super Mario Bros Wonder has definitely proved me wrong, and I overall just think my take was a little too closed minded. I don't see it in the near future, but I'm not as opposed to it.
Hmm I think your take overstates how much Mario Maker/a 3D Mario Maker impacts Ninendo's ability to create unique or marketable Mario games; with a level editor like Mario Maker, players are still greatly limited by the mechanics of the game/various game styles. They can create levels, but they can't expand the IP. Nintendo has the power to expand the franchise in dramatic ways that no Mario Maker player can do. You're stuck with the same decor, trees, items, terrain gameplay physics etc. that Nintendo permits you to have, and that's the way a 3D Mario level editor would work. Also, Mario Maker is actually pretty niche and doesn't have the broad appeal that mainline Mario games have contrary to what you might think--according to the most recent software sales data from the Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association in summer of 2022 and Nintendo's end of year financial report from December 31st 2022, NSMBU Deluxe sold nearly twice as many copies as SMM2, with SMM2 only selling 7.89 million copies worldwide and NSMBU Deluxe selling 14.75 million copies worldwide. NSMBU deluxe was the 12th best selling first party title on Nintendo switch, Super Mario Maker 2 didn't even cut the top 20 despite having seemingly infinitely more value and replayability...So I'm not even sure when Nintendo will release another Mario Maker considering it didn't sell as well as anticipated. Casual consumers and mario fans alike want Mario games made by Nintendo developers, and the sales data reflects that..
War. War never changes. In the year 1945, my great-great grandfather, serving in the army, wondered when he’d get to go home to his wife and the son he’d never seen. He got his wish when the US ended World War II by dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The World awaited Armageddon; instead, something miraculous happened. We began to use atomic energy not as a weapon, but as a nearly limitless source of power. People enjoyed luxuries once thought the realm of science fiction. Domestic robots, fusion-powered cars, portable computers. But then, in the 21st century, people awoke from the American dream. Years of consumption lead to shortages of every major resource. The entire world unraveled. Peace became a distant memory. It is now the year 2077. We stand on the brink of total war, and I am afraid. For myself, for my wife, for my infant son - because if my time in the army taught me one thing: it’s that war, war never changesl war, and I am afraid. For myself, for my wife, for my infant son - because if my time in the army taught me one thing: it’s that war, war never changes
@@clarkcates8322 Eh, you can't look at those numbers and say just because it didn't sell AS well, it didn't sell well. Deluxe was kind of cheating, it was literally a rerelease with a few bonuses an intern could have added. But the original game itself? Takes a ton more effort to make that with all their own levels and balancing. SMM2 was basically just put in some new stuff into an already established game, then they could have fun with the single player mode, and were good. I would say there is incentive to continue that path of "add to an already made game builder and let the players do the hard work" if it will sell 7 million copies. Thats still a freaking insanely profitable game. As for the whole Mario Maker ruined their need to make their own 2d games, 3d would do the same etc. I feel like after NSMBU they could have felt like they didn't have much else to add to the 2D style of Mario. So Maker was an obvious route to keep that style going. There could never be another official 2D mario game, they just make better Maker games and let us do it if we really want those kinds of levels. And 7 million sales is enough to say we still want them. Or who knows? Mario is just that important (look at the movies success for proof of that) that they could just do all of the above. New console comes out, and its a triple whammy of new 3D Mario, new 2D Mario, new Mario Maker.
@@clarkcates8322 That is a very good point. There's no denying Mario Maker is incredibly limited, and mainline games aren't. I was also unaware of those statistics, that's insane to me.
All I really want from Mario Maker is more aesthetic elements. Being able to place objects solely for decoration or in the background would be amazing for level creativity and potential. I also would love if they changed the track block to go in increments of one instead of two in order for a track to be able to fill an entire room without going off screen.
Yeah, we need semi-solids without platforms. I have a level called “Ice Cold Mountain”, and the gimmick is to use icicles to go into pipes. At the end, there is an icicle that takes you to the bottom of the level, where a pipe is located. However, since semi-solids have platforms, I need to make ugly gaps just so that the icicle doesn’t break.
@@blixten635real Have you tried adjusting the height of semi-solid platforms? If you do that, you can move the platform part inside a wall so that the rest of it looks like it's part of the background
@@belugaclone I don’t really understand what you’re saying (probably because it’s quite late for me), but the icicle is in a vertical sub-area, it goes from the top, all the way to the bottom. Edit: yeah, I place the semi-solids inside of the blocks, but it’s a platform on top, so I need to add some ugly holes.
Honestly would prefer a Super Game Maker over 3D Mario Maker. The idea that I could play a Mario level and a Kirby level all in one game would be great.
Nerdy stuff: I'm just thinking of how they will be able to create a 3D version of the editor. Currently I would expect the level in a large metadata file that SMM2 can use to place the elements before playing it. But for 3D, it would need to store a lot more information, like the coordinates, the depths, the position, the direction. This would make the game a lot more slow especially multiplayer versus. It is possible of course but considering that SMM3D would have the same quality as SMM2, I could see it being WAY slower to load the course. SMM2 stores the files as game engine code, data structures and binary file formats. But 3D would now need to store more stuff like shadows and compression/decompression would become slower. And all of this intensity will cost more to Nintendo and they would need to switch to a more Low Level Language for the servers if they are not already.
They honestly need to bring back the mystery mushroom! It was a really awesome powerup, they sort of brought it back with the Link and SMB2 Mushroom powerups but not the rest of them. They should add a version of the Mega Mushroom that readds the VHS and Mario themed filters, and even the red overalls SMB1 Mega Mushroom, even the wall breaking when running into blocks from the side.
I got this crazy idea for how a 2D Super Mario Galaxy Style could work in a simple Nintendo-like way. Imagine the entire thing is actually a 2D Level like in Mario maker but it gets distorted when you press play too become spherical. The level would obviously loop at some point and you could even see that in the level editor. The length of the level decides how big the planet should be (logically) and different planets are basically different subareas that are all built like this. The stars that send you flying could be like warp pipes between the planets and by holding down on one of them you can select from a few different things to happen during the transition like starbits flying around are flying past some rocks. So ot would be just as simple as Mario Maker but it would look and feel like Galaxy.
Something that no one seems to think about is literally HOW would they make a 3d maker? They intentionally designed regular 2d Mario maker to be simple and easy to understand with a grid system. It's impossible to just click cubes in a grid for it because there are always cubes in the way. They would need to think of a drastically different method for making levels that could get really complicated really fast and could turn away casual gamers. It's a great idea, but it's all up to the execution and tbh I don't have many good ideas on how
I think there's definitely enough material in the franchise for mario maker 3. So many mechanics aren't yet used in mario maker, so many improvements could be made, and I would personally like more aesthetic options, more semisolid platforms, themes, blocks, decorations and such. Problem is with the base themes, the NSMB has by far the most still unused mechanics and aesthetics, and translating them to previous themes would be a lot of work and wouldn't always fit in well. I don't think the new options would overwhelm makers if they are organized correctly. Maybe NSMB should be separated from the rest of the styles, idk. Other extra styles I think could work in 2D could be sunshine and galaxy. But sunshine aesthetically would be kinda weird in 2D, though easier to implement mechanically. Galaxy would have all that gravity and round stuff which could be a nightmare to implement, but the mechanics could translate to 2D better.
Logic from LBP needs to be in SMM3. Also, custom items to go along with it, maybe a mario paint like prompt that allows you to make animations for your objects, and a music maker, for custom songs, just like in mario paint.
@@Swausey me too i will buy my switch and mm2 tm i ever wanted to have it but since 2017 when fortnite came out I have been playing fortnite all the time and completely forgot about mario franchise now the mario movie is out it came back to my memory and one of my biggest childhood wishes was to get mm but I was 10 at the time and was not allowed nor had the money. Now being 19 and living all aloke by myself this is not the case anymore😁😁
I hope they finally add in all the missing stuff that is still noticeably absent like one way pipes, off screen bullet Bill’s, missing enemies, missing mechanics missing from the games, More themes
Considering Nintendo/Gamefreak thought the Soarijg feature from Pokémon ORAS was too complicated, I kinda doubt Nintendo will ever make a 3D Maker (although that would be a literal dream-come-true)
I'd like a Gen1/2 Pokemon Maker. You can pick pokemon habitat locations, trainer/gym pokemon line ups, starters, npc dialogue, play as one of the hikers, sailors, martial artists, and be able to play other peoples pokemon worlds, It would be fun. Heck, even create your own pokemon.
There’s been a drought of Mario games, so I think they have been not producing Mario games because they’re spending a lot of time working on a Super Mario 3D Maker
I think every Mario maker series was supposed to be in every console that Nintendo released and they may be released 3 or 2 years after the recent console is released
And I hope Nintendo makes a Nintendo switch with the same apps from the 3ds and the new cartridge will be the same as the 3ds one and will be compatible with the original Nintendo switch! And also have 2 screens!
In my opinion, you could add completely new franchises to the game, like Zelda, Sonic, FNaF, Megaman, Metroid, Cuphead, Bendy, etc. Yes, that sounds like a cluster**** to deal with, but if done right with patience & effort & care, that idea could turn out amazing & could bring in billions of dollars to the company!
A Pokemon maker would be absolutely insane. Letting us create a game for let's say every generation 1-5. They could even add online features that let players play on shared servers. Kind of like minecraft.
I want to believe that Nintendo Garage was a first draft of Mario Maker 3D, but the developer realized that creating a 3D world is hard to make intuitive. So I don't know how they could handle it. MM3D is probably going to be more like Super Mario 3D Land. Mostly because the end condition would be "get a star" / "go to the flagpole", while Sunshine, Galaxy and Odyssey is more around exploration and collectibles. Perhaps, they could create two editors like a intuitive limited one for children, and one more advanced for those who really push the limit.
I’m really hoping for a third Mario Maker! Especially to see characters such as Daisy, Peach, and the Koopalings as playable characters. And I disagree new games would not be too ambitious at all
Oh i definitely want to see an actual super mario 3d maker. AND a pokémon maker, full gyms elite four and everything. But i mostly wanna see a super mario 3d maker.
8:46 there is one suggestion I would like to make about that. A sub menu just would not be enough. It would have to open a big menu to take up the whole screen simply because there are so many different pokémon to choose from throughout all the generations of games
i have an idea to a potential super mario maker 3... my idea consists in an entire programming language built in smm3 ... and players all around the world can install addons to make levels with those custom enemies/ blocks or make them, maybe nintendo can make a voting system like lego ideas and the one who gets the most votes gets officially added to mario maker 3... that would keep the game fresh and exciting to see what wins, this could happen every month or so. Well that's my idea please read this .
if they make mario maker 3, I would like 2 small things, the ability to add more goals (most importantly if they have 3d) and also the fake boo goals in 3d world, that would be funny lol
A new 2D Mario, a new 3D Mario and a new Mario Baseball are all a thousand times more likely than any maker type game. Probably one of those three is gonna come out by the end of this year.
The game I'd want Nintendo to create would Mario Kart Maker because I would love to create my own complicated tracks and choose between different Mario Kart games.
From a fan perspective, I'd love to see a 3D Mario Maker. From a Game Student / Game-Dev in training perspective.. I'd want to see Mario Maker 3 not hold back on ANYTHING. Give us all the enemies we'd ever need, the powerups too and throw in all the bosses, themes and game styles possible. Allow us to mix-and-match styles, like using jungle assets in a volcano theme! Let us code custom cutscenes, draw custom enemy sprites, maybe even expand world maker to have wayyy more options! Game builder garage is a great concept, throw it onto mario and you have MILLIONS of kids being reached with a game development tool, helping them bring to life their own creations in a much more expansive way that could spark dreams for their future. and for me, I'd get to see my favourite franchise merge more closely with my career choice.
Games where the whole selling point is playing and contributing user-created content are perhaps the most replayable, but also kinda niche because of all the awful designs that are more annoying than fun. It doesn't help that the former outnumbers the latter by a significant amount. Even so, as long as it is profitable, a sequel with more content and a few additional liberties (like placing water in specific areas) would suffice.
I feel like a Kirby maker is actually something that would happen. It's not TOO far off from Mario, and would be just as good, if better. The amount of abilities and gimmicks the Kirby series has is great. Its a good amount but not TOO much. I feel like the artstyle thing might be too diverse, because of how self contained the gimmicks for kirby games are. Hypernova? Robot armor? Super copy abilities? You can only use them in one artstyle. So if they want to get a good amount of gimmicks in, they would need a lot of artstyles. Or they just add all the gimmicks to every artstyle except for a few by just making new sprites. I feel like there would be some form of really different maker like 3d world mode, but i dont know what it could be. Maybe it would just be the same thing, Forgotten land but 2d, or something nobody would expect like an epic yarn mode.
Super Zelda maker would be amazing, just making dungeons and worlds would make for probably the best! Metroid and Kirby would be great too, but Zelda would be my dream.
All I really want to see is an option where you can make your own Grand Prix cups and the ability to change the cc from 1-1000, yes I know cc changing could be chaotic but they can make it only accessible to people playing vs race. I hope you’ll be able to change the track amount to 96 when the booster course pass finishes.
I like the idea of a 3d mario maker... but how would the actual maker system work? It would be a lot more complicated then the 2d grid that we have currently
I already came up with a good idea for a 3D Mario Maker way before the original Mario Maker was even announced. I used SM64 as the basis. The creation should be simple enough. Just choose an area size, fill it up with your level. Then place enemies, power stars, gimmicks, etc. For the power stars you can choose to just have available at all times, put it inside a box or enemy or tie an objective to it. Like collect all red coins, defeat the enemies you choose as the objective, find certain secret spots, decide the order in which you have to hit or touch something, etc. Honestly, it shouldn't be too hard to work with. I actually came up with the idea after SM64DS came out. And it's not like simple 3D editors haven't been done before. Tenchu 2 had a pretty amazing one (for its time).
I can think of many things for Super Mario Maker 3 1. Sumo Bros. 2. New Super Mario Bros Style 3. Ice Flower 4. Shell Power 5. Penguin Power 6. Mega Mushroom 7. Super Mario Bros. 2 Style 8. I want a new MM to explore spin offs and stuff! I’m a huge fan of the spin off titles. Of course, in the realm od possibility. If 2d it’s probably gotta follow the platformer rules. But even just the artstyle mimicing i’d be okay with (paper mario? Maybe? I love paper mario. Just a platforming look alike.) Doesn’t even have to be ones where mario stars. I’m a huge fan of a lot of wii u games, just not the console itself (both my gamepads are broken. I use the pro controller to dodge that..) and one of my favorite games in the realm of mario spinoffs is Yoshi’s Woolly World. Possibly the cutest 2D game i’ve ever played. It’s 2D, it’s platforming, it’s regular mario levels with new enemies and concepts stuck on. It’s possible! Some new stuff could be added, the empty platforms and pipes that take yarn, player badges could be attached to the spawn point.. etc. It would be a nice way to still give a really good game some love in a more accessible way. I mean, i doubt anybody plays it as much as i do. I don’t care much for a 3D maker as i do like the 2D maker layout and design. A 3D maker would be cool but we have so many 2D games to sift through first.. might as well throw some ideas out!
You forgot Sonic the Hedgehog Maker. I know, I know, Sonic is Sega, but let's face it, Nintendo and Sega are practically sleeping with each other. Also, the debug feature in the original Genesis/Mega Drive games is similar to a Maker game as a level designer. I'll bet you that's how the Sonic ROM Hacking community got inspired.
I would love to have more styles for the Super World itself (outside the levels) not just Mario World Also Mountain, Beach, Volcano and Tower level themes
My list in Mario Maker 3 is 1. New Super Mario Bros. Ds 2. New Super Mario Bros. Wii 3. New Super Mario Bros. 2 4. Beach World 5. Mountain World 6. Volcano World 7. Autumn World 8. Swamp World 9. Jungle World 10. Purple Crystal Space World 11. Yellow Toad Playabel Character 12. Have 2-4 players has any charater they want. 13. Tower World 14. Have up to 15 worlds 15. Have up to 15 levels per world 16. Make your own cutscene in Super World. 17. City World 18. Upload up to 300 levels 19. Upload up to 15 Super Worlds 20. Up to 5 Mini Star Coins 21. Food World 22. Slime World 23. Light World 24. Garden World 25. Circus World 26. Factory World 27. Black Swamp World 28. Farmland World 29. Make your own Music in each levels, worlds and cutstscene 30. Make your own boss 31. Red Yoshi playabel character 32. Green Yoshi playabel character 33. Light Blue Yoshi playabel character 34. Yellow Yoshi playabel character 35. Nabbit playabel character 36. Orange Yoshi playabel character
I've been saying this since the beginning and I've also been saying they should have had this in the 3DS version instead of just making It's a part of the Wii U game. Anyways back to Mario Maker 2 on the switch. There's all this room right by where they added Super Mario 3D World when you're selecting the theme on the top left corner of the screen. The perfect addition would have been Super Mario Land 2. It's a classic 2D and yes sure it's the Game Boy but they could choose to try to colorize it. If not I don't think there's a problem though, but the fact is that game would be perfect. There's a lot of different enemies in the game that are kind of unique to the whole series and there's even that bunny hood power up that makes you glide. I think it would be really cool if they included Super Mario Land 2. It really would be a perfect addition to Super Mario Maker
Or how about a "Nintendo Allstars Maker" where instead of switching between gamestyles, you can switch franchises. I personally think they will release a "Mario Maker Cloud" where every old Mario Maker level can be uploaded onto and they can keep updating. I think it would be neat if they made a separate machine for Mario Maker.
I fantasized of a 3D mario maker for awhile, I had a whole idea of what it would look like! _Just imagine that intro of Super Mario Maker 3, and suddenly.._ *A giant D comes in and the intro changes dimensions!*
Something that would be cool for another Mario maker would be to add the touch screen you know where you can touch the screen and interact wood things in the level
I'd like a Super Mario Maker Ultimate, which gets updated frequently, as soon as new content is introduced into 2D Mario Games. I'd also like 3D Makers for all the seperate series, like Galaxy, Odyssey, 3D World and maybe even Luigis Mansion
i think the art styles that would make sense for a zelda maker would be zelda 1, a link to the past, original link's awakening, and a link between worlds.
There was about a 4 year time span between SMM1 which came out in 2015, and SMM2 which came out in 2019, so we could possibly expect a SMM3 in 2024 but I feel like there is a decent chance that isn’t the case
I think a 3D world style 3D maker would work really well since those levels are admitted pretty simple, but are great for multiplayer. Leave that style of 3D Mario for fans to fiddle with and make more wacky and experimental levels while they can can make more Odyssey/sunshine style games that are more tightly designed.
What I would love is a Super Mario All-Stars DX + Super Mario Maker 3! Picture it: They port Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World (from the SNES) plus add Super Mario Land and New Super Mario Bros. (for the DS) but instead of the classic All-Stars art style, it's a new hand drawn art style! Add in all of the original versions too and then add in a Super Mario Maker 3 that is as much of a side mode as Bowser's Fury was and... BAM! I doubt something like this would happen, but I personally feel this is what would be best.
For a Zelda Dungeon Maker, how about something like Four Swords. The dungeons were much simpler, you can compete against each other. You could only carry 1 Key Item at a time. Maybe just a Four Swords Level Maker, but let designers choose how many Links you can have in level. One to Four Links. Could even have a little story, like the whole game is Hyrule starting a "Hero Program", designers are tasked with making challenges for the "Wannabe Heroes", to test them for the Ganon eventually returns. You finish the dungeon by collecting the Hyrule Crest, an item that proves your courage. Would need Logic Gates like AND, OR, NOT, and some triggers, timers and wires. An overall Timer of 15 to 30 minutes would be good. Don't need Dungeons that last for hours just to fall into a soft lock. Could even have a world map with level select with this approach. Basically, not everyone is going to want to build an entire Zelda game and level design must be simplified so even Little Timmy can make a dungeon. Not as simplified as in the Link's Awakening remake, but as complicated as designing an entire game. Could still do themes, Town, Dungeon, Forest, Dessert. Could still have styles, Zelda 1, Link to the Past, Link's Awakening. Though might not even need styles, Link's Awakening is much like Link to the Past except the Roc's Feather. I know there are some temp items too and some songs, but that may over complicate things.
Why not combine some of these ideas? You make a new Mario Maker game (still with the additions to the formula like SMM2 had, and there is still plenty of big ones to do like oh I dunno, making worlds play like self contained actual worlds and not just guided tours of someones levels), but you expand upon what SMM2 did with the Link powerup and the Mario 2 powerup. Who needs a kirby maker and a Metroid maker when you can just swap some sprites around, add 1 or 2 new control mechanics, and have one of those games in Mario Maker? Its a moderate leap from what the game already is, but not a huge one. Would fit way better than trying to make those into their own games. If there was a Kirby Maker, I would think to myself "this is mostly Mario Maker but with a few unique mechanics". So roll with that. That would be your big SMM3 Selling point.
I would like to see an option to toggle Super Mario All Stars graphics/sound effects/music (16-bit Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3). I would also like to have the option to place four versions of the triangle block first introduced in Super Mario World, so that I could create levels which involve running on the walls and ceiling in addition to the ground, just like the bonus room from the Super Mario Advance 4 e-Reader level, "Sliding the Slopes." I would also like to have the option to place 3UP Moons in addition to 1UP Mushrooms in my levels for more adventurous players to find. I would also like to see them add the option of placing a hidden pink note block that bounces you into a coin heaven, similar to the one Super Mario Bros. 3.
All I want for a new Mario Maker are more playable characters. You have the basic characters: Mario & Luigi, the speedy ones; Toad and Toadette. So, why not more characters? Maybe add Peach & Rosalina from 3D world with their abilities. And give us finally a playable Yoshi (and not as a babysitter), he also has unique abilities and there could be so much potential for that. A Zelda & Pokémon maker would be pretty cool as well tho.
That would be extremely hard to program, aside from the blocks. Plus, if this was added, the amount of bad stuff that could be made would be pretty large.
We DEFINITELY need Super Mario Maker 3, because Super Mario Maker 2 STILL lacks SO much that the official games had which made them, well, Mario games. I mean we definitely have much more than the first game ever had (slopes especially), but we're still lacking over 10+ power-ups that existed in the 2D games alone, yet alone the 3D games (I mean at least give us the Ice Flower to contrast the Fire Flower), we currently only have basic/easy (but lovable & fun) bosses that would be considered "essential" to most 2D Mario games but if we want more creative bosses that aren't following the "three hits rule", we have to actively go through the hell of using multiple parts just to make something remotely boss-like and we're missing MANY enemies that existed in the 2D and 3D games, especially ones that are suited to certain themes. Also I wish we could customise how bosses worked, like how many hits will kill them, how they would go about attacking us (like Roy could go from his digging method in SMW to his Bullet Bazooka method in NSMBU to his bull charging tactics in NSMB2) & how they utilise things in the boss room/area and just the boss room/area itself to their advantage. I think that would be fairly doable, at least for the former two ideas, it's not like complex coding or anything, just enhanced customisation options is all. Also I want genuine decoration customisation options, like we got the parts section and sounds section, so how about a decoration section too? It would definitely help make levels more creative and colourful without wasting parts or having semi-solid platforms disappear in the level that were intended for decoration purposes. We should also be allowed to set whether the night background stands or is replaced by the original background(s) with a night sky, same with the music, they might be charming and add uniqueness to the night mode, but are they really *that* necessary in the grand scheme of things? We also need either bigger areas or more sub-areas in levels, because right now even if you made a maze level with the maximum length of both areas provided, you'd still have like 150 seconds left when you reach the flag pole. It just doesn't feel the same as an official level does, also I want a feature that makes the screen zoom out automatically like in NSMBU, because having a Lakitu in a level with the default screen makes it easier to actually defeat them because you can't add platforms that go higher up without risking defeating the Lakitu or getting hit just from jumping alone, which makes adding the Lakitu to levels somewhat redundant and not worth it. Then we need more level themes, the missing essential ones in particular (Beach, Mountain, Volcano, maybe a non-lava Castle, Tower, maybe outdoors Ghost House/Graveyard), the missing essential world themes, bigger world map sizes for further customisation and decoration options (and path designs) & most importantly, *let us have more than five levels in a world Nintendo for God sake it's so miniscule* seriously, how would we even add secret levels or a level with a mid-boss in it when you can only have four normal levels and then a final level with a boss in it? We can't, that's what. Sorry for my saltiness, but I really love this game and wish it had more to offer than it currently does. So yeah, long story short: we absolutely NEED a Super Mario Maker 3 before Nintendo ever ditches that particular series, not just for more game styles and characters and story modes and such, but just for in-general extended creation abilities and possibilities that the official games have but we aren't able to explore one bit for the majority of them.
Mario Kart Maker? Or how about another Super Mario Maker game with 2D and 3D plane where you can make your own music not with enemies and items, but with an actual music studio like FL Studio or GarageBand but more simple and you can put your music that you made from the music studio in your levels. Kinda like Mario ROM Hacks.
alright so hear me out. when me and my brother got smm2 when it came out, he actually made the infamous super Mario world lava level, the nsmbu snow level, and the 3d world boo house level on the title themes. i am 50% sure that he did make it, but there's that.
Recently, because of the Mario Movie, I've been playing a lot of SMM2 and creating a lot of levels. It's really fun, I hope they make SMM3 eventually
Especially as MM2 is pretty much dead, most people don’t even play the levels anymore. If they made MM3, everyone would actually care about the levels and there would be a decent reason to upload them.
Btw, what’s your maker code?

Mario 3D Land and World was the greatest games for me, so I need Mario Maker 3D to see what can community do with this.
Yeah same
The problem with 3d is similar to the problem of giving players 2d freedom.

I also would love if they changed the track block to go in increments of one instead of two in order for a track to be able to fill an entire room without going off screen.
even a roblox classic sonic game does that, it would be nice that they add that to super mario maker
@@blixten635real that stinks
Honestly would prefer a Super Game Maker over 3D Mario Maker. The idea that I could play a Mario level and a Kirby level all in one game would be great.
Nerdy stuff:
I'm just thinking of how they will be able to create a 3D version of the editor.
And the size of the resulting levels would make transmission far slower and require more storage on Nintendos end. I don’t see it happening.

A 3D Mario maker would be so cool but what if they would combine 2D and 3D assets and have the ability to Switch between 2D and 3D at will
Something that no one seems to think about is literally HOW would they make a 3d maker?
I just bought Mario Maker 2 yesterday and i already love it! All your ideas sound great and whould be amazing to see in a Mario Maker game🎉

Not There Yet: Super Mario Maker 3 Nintendo Switch Coming Soon Game Nintendo
A Pokémon maker would be insane, I haven’t played Pokémon in months but I would definitely get back into it if that released
That’s very true because on 3d world they all had many different players that everyone can choose any characters that they can play with.

Also cutsenses are cool
There’s been a drought of Mario games, so I think they have been not producing Mario games because they’re spending a lot of time working on a Super Mario 3D Maker
I think every Mario maker series was supposed to be in every console that Nintendo released and they may be released 3 or 2 years after the recent console is released
And I hope Nintendo makes a Nintendo switch with the same apps from the 3ds and the new cartridge will be the same as the 3ds one and will be compatible with the original Nintendo switch! And also have 2 screens!
A Mario Kart creator would be insane
If they made any of the makers I’m buying it day one
I’m really hoping for a third Mario Maker! Especially to see characters such as Daisy, Peach, and the Koopalings as playable characters. And I disagree new games would not be too ambitious at all
I would really like an invisible wall because that way I can hide my contraptions

I wish an actual 3d mario maker would exist
Btw switch stop if you see this your a great UA-camr

8:46 there is one suggestion I would like to make about that. A sub menu just would not be enough. It would have to open a big menu to take up the whole screen simply because there are so many different pokémon to choose from throughout all the generations of games
Id prefer another 2d mario maker but honestly it would be a good idea
i have an idea to a potential super mario maker 3... my idea consists in an entire programming language built in smm3 ... and players all around the world can install addons to make levels with those custom enemies/ blocks or make them, maybe nintendo can make a voting system like lego ideas and the one who gets the most votes gets officially added to mario maker 3... that would keep the game fresh and exciting to see what wins, this could happen every month or so. Well that's my idea please read this .
SMM3 will not be made until 2030 at the earliest
Its my dream to make my own pokemon game or Kirby game so PLEASE Nintendo just TRY to do it
We just need the beach and volcano theme along with chargin’ Chuck and we are good to go
if they make mario maker 3, I would like 2 small things, the ability to add more goals (most importantly if they have 3d)
and also the fake boo goals in 3d world, that would be funny lol
Probably just Mario Maker 3 or maybe a Donkey Kong Country maker
A new 2D Mario, a new 3D Mario and a new Mario Baseball are all a thousand times more likely than any maker type game. Probably one of those three is gonna come out by the end of this year.
Nintendo should have made a Super Mario Maker 2 DLC pack, which adds a ton of new assets and maybe a new game style
Maybe they could also add a Super Luigi Maker DLC if they make another Year of Luigi
They could do Mario kart maker where you can make your own tracks
They could also port super mario maker 2, but I am hoping for a super mario maker where they allow for so much more freedom on the world maker
Yes I NEED this. Mario Maker 2 gave me a taste and now I have the hunger.
I hope if they make Super Mario Maker 3, it has a mario 3D land or mario bros (DSi) version
I think it will be "Super Mario Maker 3d" because it would be saying its mario maker 3 but also its a 3d mario maker

Just a platforming look alike.)
Doesn’t even have to be ones where mario stars.

Sharable custom Splatoon courses for Splatoon 3 DLC would be incredible.
LAVA THEME! TOWER THEME! BEACH THEME! CHANGING OF BACKGROUNDS IN CASTLES AND MUCH MUCH MORE
Super Mario 3D Maker would actually be my new favorite Mario game
Probably it will be similar to Mario Maker 2 with a little of differences I wouldn’t get my hopes up if I were you.
I made a one-dimensional Super Mario game in SMM2. 4VB-XRY-WFG
There's another youtuber who made a Kirby maker as a passion project. I'm pretty sure he's still working on it, but it looks pretty cool.
That is such a great idea
Something that would be cool for another Mario maker would be to add the touch screen you know where you can touch the screen and interact wood things in the level
I'd like a Super Mario Maker Ultimate, which gets updated frequently, as soon as new content is introduced into 2D Mario Games.
I'd also like 3D Makers for all the seperate series, like Galaxy, Odyssey, 3D World and maybe even Luigis Mansion
I wish there will be the blue shell from the DS version and a fighting mode in Super Mario Maker 3
I really hope they make Super Mario Maker 3
Mrio kart maker will be cool
Making a 3d mario maker with new stuff would be the same as a mario maker 3 with new items and mechanics
i think the art styles that would make sense for a zelda maker would be zelda 1, a link to the past, original link's awakening, and a link between worlds.
The Super acorn, the penguin suit, Yoshi's are already in 1 and 2 of Mario maker
I would also like to have the option to place four versions of the triangle block first introduced in Super Mario World, so that I could create levels which involve running on the walls and ceiling in addition to the ground, just like the bonus room from the Super Mario Advance 4 e-Reader level, "Sliding the Slopes."
I would also like to have the option to place 3UP Moons in addition to 1UP Mushrooms in my levels for more adventurous players to find.
For smm2 they maybe could add Mario Wonder, Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, Mario Galaxy and Mario Odyssey as themes so it'd sell well.
I think being able to make new Enemies/Items/Blocks would be amazing
That would be extremely hard to program, aside from the blocks. Plus, if this was added, the amount of bad stuff that could be made would be pretty large.
That would be a technical and moderation nightmare.
YOU KNOW WHAT WE NEED YALL.
WE
NEED
SUPER
MARIO
KART
MAKER!!!!! THAT WOULD BE AMAZING INFINITE TRACKS
All mario maker needs to do is make sure you can replicate the 2d mario's that already exist 100% Nothing missing or "impossable".
The covers on the thumbnail are so well made.
alright so hear me out. when me and my brother got smm2 when it came out, he actually made the infamous super Mario world lava level, the nsmbu snow level, and the 3d world boo house level on the title themes. i am 50% sure that he did make it, but there's that.
I think that 3d maker should be only 1 art style instead of haven’t 64/sunshine/etc. combine everything into one.
