That would not have happened, West Pakistan was in a better situation and was unified. Remember that it took you 200k+ forces allied with local insurgents who happened to be the majority in a territory separated and completely cut off from base of operations by more than 2000 kilometers for 21 days with no supplies to defeat them. Invasion into West Pakistan would have been catastrophic for India as Pakistan would have simply resorted to guerilla tactics and India would run into a risk of losing open Soviet Support had it gotten above and beyond East Pakistan.
The President of the Soviet Union Podgorney came to India to give the warning that Turkey, Jordan and Iran assembled their armies to jump on India and in that case armies of the USA and the UK will join them. That was reason he advised Indira Gandhi to stop the war.
