I have one of these to use for work as I do lots of motorway driving. The standard car is a bit slow so I had a mild remap (220bhp/480nm) which has transformed the car. Its incredibly flexible in-gear and even better on fuel.
Hi Harry - I don't know where you live but I had mine done by Superchips head office in Buckingham (UK). I paid extra for the Blue-Fin device so I can uninstall it anytime for visits to the dealer, however Superchips provide their own warranty so if any components fail as a result of the re-map they cover it. I don't tell the dealer its been done to avoid any issues so I swap back to standard before it goes in for servicing. In terms of insurance, its unlikely they would ever find out but its always been approx £60.00 extra for me. There's many companies to consider but I would definitely recommend it as it transforms the car-particularly mid-range torque.
K Mack thanks for the reply Mack. I might give the blue-fin a try sounds great to install and uninstall when you like, l think there about £400 but the extra torque and hp is worth it. Thanks again.

The fact you swap it back to stock anytime rather than have a piggyback remap means the dealer wont find it should you be unlucky enough to need a warranty repair. Good luck!
How are the headlights and reversing lights . I have this car and the light illumination is disgracefull on main beam and I'm as well with candles as reversing lights . Crap

K Mack l was thinking about getting my GTD remapped. Did you tell your insurance and does invalidate your warranty.
I did the same totally changes the characteristics of the car and makes it as quick as a GTI.
