I can't imagine how deliciously smelling the pole barn was while they were cooking. Yummm
Glad everyone was safe during the hail.
When you opened your oven, I could tell by the flame that it's natural gas set not propane. That is why your bread is over cooked. You really need to change the orifice to propane for your own safety and oven control. We enjoy your vlog, keep on keeping on.
Thanks skip, I did swap the orfices, I was kinda surprised with the flame too, maybe it can be adjusted?
Do u get nat gas off grid??
Jen,would a bread maker be better for the solar??
Propane is much safer ❤❤
The bread looks terrific. I can only imagine how good it smells when its baking!
Nothing more soothing than rain hitting a tin roof. Bread looks delicious! Great job Jen.
If you can find an old propane stove/oven or an old rv unit, they basically have a mercury or thermocouple saftey pilot system which uses no electric. You wouldn't have to worry about the draw on power
The bread is beautiful!!!
Yummo, looks scrumptious!😍😍❤️❤️❤️🐾🐾🐾
Jen - can’t believe this is your first foray into sour dough bread. Looks amazing!🥺🇨🇦
I love this video! It’s so peaceful and relaxing there! Y’all are truly blessed!❤❤❤❤
Glad you liked it buddy. Best wishes
The Treat life video camera is awesome.
MMM my fav sourdough bread, nice job Jen!!!
The sounds of spring at the beginning (birds) and the sounds of spring in the middle (hail) are better than any soundtrack you can find. I love it.
Glad you enjoyed it buddy.......😊
Beautiful bread. That breakfast sandwich looked DELICIOUS.
Be safe in those spring storms.❤
Thanks Mary
Great job on the bread look amazing nothing wrong with that very nice
Jay love your videos and enjoy watching them every time. May the lord bless and protect you and Jen and the homestead and working on the homestead.
Oh Jen, that is the most beeeeautiful bread! I've been baking bread for decades, but I've never made an edible sour dough. Great job!
Woot woot thanks 😊
Bread looks delish!! Man that's some good size hail y'all had up there!! J & C
Thank you for another great video! That bread looks delicious!
more of your geat lighting storm
Oooh that sourdough bread looks so delicious Jen, and that hail storm wow sure was noisy and loud, I hope the solar panels are okay Jay, tfs guys x Julie 🇬🇧
How cow!! That hail is horrid!! The entire science I was just thinking about those beautiful flowers and the solar panels 😣
That pole barn is a fun place to hang out!
No pool room like you guys....but chairs and beverages make it work, lol
@@OffgridwithJayandJen haha you know what’s up 😉
Come to our corner of the world and we will play some pool and have a beverage about it ❤️
You go girl... that bread smells delish...
It's great to use in a French toast bake also !
Bread looks great
I bet you guys have the best smelling pole-barn in the Midwest!! Classic! Love it!
I switched the orfices when I bought it, followed the directions......I was a little surprised by the flames coming up the bottom, but I'm 99 percent sure I did it correctly
Yes, I love your off grid life, Jay. Life in the city is crazy. Almost everyone has lost their mind. If I were 40 years younger, I would pursue that same life.
Glad to see that you are ok! When I saw tornados hitting Michigan, I was concerned. Be Safe! Peace from your friend in VA!!
Watching your video this morning was a great way to start off my day. Love your videos. Looking forward to your upcoming build. Thanks so much!
Thanks buddy
real bread // great job
Kerry gold butter, honey or strawberry jam on fresh bread mmmm.
Made me hungry!
I suppose you missed the tornados at least. We have been having warnings and watches often in the past couple weeks and again tonight, however we have been spared any more than a lot of noise, rain, and wind. I tried to cut the grass today and the mower got stuck twice and I had to pull it out with the truck.
Oh boy, crazy weather buddy
Bread look so good !!
That looks amazing Jen !
Thanks so much!
Your bread looks so delicious.
Thank you 😋
Ohhhh looks so good.
Ok that bread looked really good!! So did the sammies and now I am hungry!!!
😊😊😊
I ordered my battery ignition propane stove from Home depot. Best purchase ever.
Pioneer woman knows how to make bread. Great to see you guys winging it with a propane stove in the garage.
Always winging it my friend. Woot woot
Bread looks tasty as did your sandwiches great work baker Jen, Those were good size pieces of hail hope they didnt do damage probably scared the dogs , loved the video
Jay, awesome lighting in the pole-barn.
Thanks my friend.....I bought this cheap little 6 or 8 pack of shop lights....Amazon deal for cheap and hooked them all up. Led too so all the lights draw like 120 watts. I installed them last fall, this is the first time we really used them good....very happy.
OMG...the bread looks incredible! Recommend trying with dipping into a plate of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, cracked black pepper and a sprinkle of fresh parmesan cheese on top. Just remember you don't need to stir. Dip the bread in mixture and enjoy. Yum!
OMG......this sounds so good
I just love listening to all of your birds.
Cannot wait to see the videos of your new building!! I know you guys are excited as well. And just think you won't have to move your your maple syrup container around every year, it'll be in one location!! That bread looks so good!! My husband just said I need to learn how to make some, lol!! I know how to make zucchini with rosemary and garlic bread and that is so good. That little storm you had reminds me of my grandmother's house. She had a tin roof on her home and we love to lay there and listen to the storms come in until we fell asleep. Very very nice!!!
Glad you guy's are ok, crazy weather lately and tornadoes don't normally go into Michigan. Nice looking bread Jen and Jay definitely has a recipe for eating it properly.
😋, propane stoves use different parts than gas ones..
Make sure you have the correct orifices..
Looking forward to seeing your new build..
Best breakfast ever, scrambled eggs, bacon and mushrooms on fresh crusty bread!!! I’m so jealous.
Yum yum
I just finished watching and was going to tell you the same thing, oven is not converted for propane. I haven't seen the burners working so I don't know if they're ok or not.
We have the Unique brand propane stoves, the 20” in the cabin and the 30” in the house. The ignitors are powered by 1 D cell battery! We can’t recommend them enough. I know, not helpful now :(
Ha, I appreciate the info. I picked up this stove for cheap and it was brand new
....so no harm done here. I was just surprised by the power draw to keep the oven running. Jen loves her vintage stove inside so much she won't let me swap it.
@@OffgridwithJayandJen you’ve got all those awesome power stations! So you can run it no probs :)
I also love Jen’s vintage stove!
Hope everything was okay after the hail storm.
I've always believed that with a little ingenuity a person can accomplish a lot.
Not conforming to set standards on many things is probably why you've been able to do what you've done.
To me that's exciting.
Keep doing it however it works for you 😊
The bread looks amazing!! Nice work Jen!
your bread looks yummy
Lol Ridiculous off grid with jay and jen. Love it. I really need to try sour dough someday. Im afraid ill screw it up and waste all that time. Lol. Alao like your security system but it won't really work for us because you need a wifi signal all the time. Once we're up there full time we will have a better setup and get solar going all the time. Nice video guys. 💕✌️🇨🇦🇺🇲
Jen is still learning the sourdough thing, these ones turned out great, this week's were just okay, lol.
Jen has her wifi on from her phone signal for work and bird feeders....pretty much full time use.
@@OffgridwithJayandJen just ok sounds edible at least 🤪
The darker ear is normal in sourdough bread.
6:08 Jason you should go into paid acting 😂
It makes me so happy when someone notices my little pokes at humor, especially in the sponsors It makes it fun. Thanks for making Me laugh this morning. Best wishes my friend
the bread looks gread how you made me hungry and it looks like i will to make some bread love your video dave from ct
Appreciate you Dave
I heard about all the tornadoes y’all got up that way! Stay safe! We are under the gun today, Kentucky. I’m on the far east side so hopefully we don’t get none!
Be safe my friend
Barn bread! You could market it!
This really made us smile......thank you
Interesting on the oven. I had no idea they used any power, or at least some of them. Have you considered maybe a RV stove/oven? I think they can run on 12v or 120 low power.
I will look for one I guess......I was surprised too
I loved that music on this video.
Ong...big rianing stom❤❤❤❤❤❤
It's called HSI on the oven Hot Surface Ignition and the "spark" is called Intermittent Spark Ignition. Heating and Cooling guy down here in Holland.
Nice....appreciate the info. I guess it makes sense that without a pilot, you can't just have a gas valve and random spark ignition, lol. I just never really had dealt with one like this before. All the campers have pilots and the old oven inside has to be lit each use.....which I have never messed with much. We use the stove top, but the oven not so much.
Hi guys, now was this the night that Michigan had tornado warnings?
There were a few not too far away that night.
i have tried cooking bread on the BBQ works great
Ha.....that was our back up plan. Glad to know it works 😊👍
need a off grid stove they make them batery or pilot ignite the batery one only usses a d batery
OMG! I LOVE, LOVE fresh baked bread!!! That is one of the best smells in the world. I would take a fresh loaf of bread over anything sweet anytime. All 3 of your loaves looked soooo good! Great job! I could almost smell them through my computer. 😆 On another note, that hail storm was something else. Perfect little ice balls falling from the sky! I have seen hail before, but not in little balls like that, they are usually much bigger. With having a metal roof, I'm sure it just intensified the sound. Loud but cool sounding at the same time. ❤ Hopefully your solar panels weathered the storm ok. 🤞 Do you get those often way up there in MI? Speaking of weather, what are you a avg. temps during the year? I'm looking for a cooler/cold place to live, but not TOO cold. Can't wait to see your multi-purpose build, I bet it will be exciting! Lot of hugs! 💛💛
Hey there, we get hail from time to time, but they are more often the size of BBs not marbles like these ones. Michigan has a great mix of four seasons for sure, the farther north you are the longer winter drags on tho
WICKED HAIL...holy cow....any damage?....what about a wood burning stove/oven in the new building for you and Jen?...NEW BUILDING...my experience has been, always build it bigger than you think you need ......cheers
call me weird , but i actually like the burnt crust. I bet it did smell good
Weirdo, lol. Just kidding 😂
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Stove definitely isn't set up for propane
I have the orfices in there, maybe it needs adjusting somehow?
Did I miss something? Why is your oven in the shed? What's up with the one in the kitchen in the cabin?
The old stove in the cabin works on stove top burners, but I can't get the oven to work properly. The one inside is vintage and we love it, but can't get the oven to lite. This will have to do until we get the outdoor kitchen built this summer
Very assume. You need to change orfis to propane need to have blue flame.
I swapped the stove top and offices in the oven to the correct ones I believe. Per the directions
Xin Chào Chúc bạn một ngày mới tốt lành
Hello my friend.....Best wishes to you. Thanks for being here
Can Jen bake a rhubarb/ strawberry pie? If so, please mail it to 130 Saratoga ave, plainville usa 😂😂😂😂
Lol
🖐😎👍
How was the bread 🍞
It was fantastic my friend
@@OffgridwithJayandJen what kind of jelly and jam do you both like ?
TAKE THE RACK OUT AND ONLY USE 1 RACK AT THE BOTTOM
Why the heck don’t you put that stove inside!? Its a small task!
Jen likes her old vintage one
YOU HAVE THE WRONG ORFICES IN THAT STOVE! ITS SET FOR NATURAL GAS!!!!!
I switched them per the directions, months ago. Believe I did it correctly
@@OffgridwithJayandJen sorry but something is WRONG! I’ve seen this happen before and you probably need a pressure regulator. But I assure you this is severely wrong!
I'll check it out again, the stove top lit nicely and seemed right after swapping them....I'll double check it. I was surprised to see the flame too
@@OffgridwithJayandJen I’ve seen someone else do an oven before and they had to do something else besides the orfice with a regulator or something
Acts 1:9-11
King James Version
9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. Gods blessings over you .
Hello jay just a question how did bluetti sponsor you did you contact them? I’m trying to get a friend of mine. They’re on sponsorship through bluetti they have a UA-cam channel just over 7,000 subscribers
Ww have a company that contacts companies for sponsors for us. Your friend can directly email bluetti though
Thankyou for the information jay
Jay love your videos and enjoy watching them every time. May the lord bless and protect you and Jen and the homestead and working on the homestead.
