Tokyo, JAPAN - 2000/2001 Grand Prix Final, Figure Skating, Pairs' Event: Round 1 is the Short Program. Round 2 is the Free Skating. Round 3, aka Super Final, has the Top 2 pairs skate another Free Skate, and the winner gets the Gold. The other pair gets the Silver. Then, the 3rd and 4th Place pairs skate another Free Skate, and the winner gets the Bronze medal. Commentators were Terry Gannon, Peggy Fleming, and Peter Carruthers.

Very low-quality judging in the final round of the competition. How do Sale and Pelletier get a 5.8 for technical merit with Jamie's fall and 5.9s for presentation? Their program is technically very simplistic and the choreography was catchy but not difficult enough. 5.6/5.8 for me, a good case could even be made for 5.7 for presentation because the transitions were not complex and there was too much plain side-by-side skating.

8:54 lol about the commentators talking about the French giving the lift they invented an odd name ("the terrible lift"): Funny subtle differences: the english word "terrible" would translate to "horrible" in french. In french, the word "terrible" means "scary or frightening". They called it "le terrible", which in french means "the scary/frightening one". They didn't say "it sucks" from the get go by naming it that! ;)
