Tremec TKX 5 speed into the '74 Z28 FINALLY!!!!

  • We got around to it! Our 1974 Z28 with the 450 HP blueprint engine and the tunnel ram is finally getting the 5 speed. In this video we get the 4 speed out and show you how to set up the bell housing for the Tremec TKX. We had to get to the clutch to see what flywheel was installed so we could order up a new 26 spline clutch for the TKX.

    FYI your bellhousing is off slightly more than 0.005 at the 10:30 heading.

    are you going with hdy bearing... is so what bearing you are using. I having this problem now. Using a stock bellhousing type.

      We used the bearing that came in the kit from Silver sport

    Man, I want that transmission for my 71. Had to install those offset dowels to center my bell housing. Is that a standard 621 housing?

    Why go hydraulic? Why not keep the mechanical setup?
