Jackson thank you for acknowledging the old dudes. I just turned 49 July 18th and have had 6 surgeries 1 that was supposed to leave me paralyzed from the neck down in 2020. I have spastic quadriplegia but I grew up in OC county surfing/boogie the wedge and Newport 40st was my home. Dirt bikes and everything else I could do I would do. By the grace of God and resilience I am walking and doing a lot of physical therapy. I had brain surgery July 19th and recovering well and can’t wait to get back in the water.
Our age or disabilities don’t define us, it’s our heart and will to overcome adversity and trials in life. JL and the Sickos have my my recovering after 4 spin surgeries that much easier and keeping my stoke alive. Keep up the great love you have for what you do and thank you for not giving up on your passions and dreams. Yeeeew

Awesome story! I have come back relatively far from an incomplete quadriplegic diagnosis to still be ripping wheelies and slashing powder in my late 30s 👍 much respect.

I needed this today. I’ve always felt younger than my age; been told I look way younger than my age, but this weekend - for the first time - I didn’t like how old I was. A lot of it has to do with the fact I’ve always done so much in my life solo (not by choice) that I got used to having to do everything in my life solo. But I traveled for the first time in 3 years and it felt different; more difficult to connect with people; just harder. And it bummed me out. It bummed me out so much that I was like, should I even believe those dreams I’ve been dreaming for so long will still happen or should I just give up? It’d be so much easier to give up. But I was scrolling thru all my usual YT subscriptions and nothing was positive! I was like, I can’t handle this negativity! I kept scrolling and I finally got to your post. And I needed it. You never know who’s going to need what you’ve got to say when… or how old they’ll be when they need to hear it (or how old you’ll be when you need to say it, lol!) Thanks, though… I did need it. Today. I need it.

Age really is just a stupid number! Some days I feel as old as the 89 year old man on the bike...then I realize Jackson and Justin were right, and then I go off on my own adventure! Cant wait to see what he is doing at 40! Which is the new 30....I swear on that!
