    One thing that should've been added to this was Plax's prediction of the Giants winning 23-17 and Brady's interview where he says "We're only going to score 17 points? Hahaha, okay. Is Plax playing defense?" and then cut to the end of the game where they only score 14 🤣🤣🤣

While Aaron Rodgers who is supposed to be one of the greatest QBs ever - only has one. and has choked in every other big game and yet no one gets down on him like they do Eli. I mean Favre was an interception MACHINE and you didn't mention THAT when Webster picked him off. Sh!t, NO Qb was better that postseason than Eli. But my wife was traveling in NYC, and she called me right after the game screaming her head off. I immediately told her to cease speaking. What? Could it be? The Giants did NOT lose to the Pats? The Eli to Plax connection could’ve been a top 5 QB/WR duos of the 00’s if he hadn’t shot himself. It’s remembered now as a classic meme, guys look, Plax shot himself hahaha, but if you look at the numbers, the Giants were likely going back to back before he was gone for the last half of the season, and beyond that it’s anyone’s guess. He missed two years after the incident, imagine what he could’ve done for the giants in those two years. He may very well have resigned and stayed with the gmen. @@theog2306 The defense did their part in helping Eli? That's f***ing hysterical!
      Eli still barely won 5/8 games by 4 points or less.
      Here are the facts:
      Eli never beat a single playoff team that scored more than 20 points.
      In 2011, the Giants defense in the playoffs allowed 14 points per game. If that were the entire season, that would be the #1 defense in the league.
      Eli still barely won 5/8 games in 2007 and 2011.
      Seriously, he wasn't that good.
      And the whole "most yards in a postseason" thing".... Just answer a simple question. Does a QB have a chance to have more yards in 3 or 4 games?
      That's a no brainer. So, let's take in consideration all the QBs that had no chance at 4 games and say the average yards for any QB that played 3 or 4 games.
      That seems fair doesn't it. After all, the best QBs in the league had a bye and no chance at having 4 games.
      But, you should have a problem with that. If you go by average yards/game, Eli is no longer in the top 10. He's 14th overall. In yards/attempt, he's 19th overall. Just because he had more chances to throw, does not mean he was better, as these stats clearly show.
      But, let's really drive this point home. Brady almost broke that record. Twice. In THREE games. He fell less than 100 yards short both times. About 5 other QBs were less than 200 yards away from breaking it also, but only played in 3 games.
      While it sounds great on the surface, it is just another smokescreen of Eli's career. The headlines sound great, but the actual facts fall way short of being great.
      What else do you have. sunshine?

    I think you have to take the negativity around this team in context. They were a top 5 rushing team and top 5 pass rushing team, and the QB was excellent off play action, all things we look for today in a good team. Tom Coughlin also was MUCH more modern than his image gave off. Coughlin loved getting the ball vertical, wasn't afraid of high scoring games, was an EXCELLENT in-game tactician and always used his time-outs well and controlled the middle eight, and he might even still hold the record for best percentage of successful challenge flags. Toxic masculinity is real, and I'm afraid there will always be a contingency of people that can't get past Eli's facial expressions or Coughlin barking orders. They didn't transform into a magic carpet ride in the playoffs, rather they were simply great at the things that win playoff games.

    This is probably one of my favorite childhood memories, even if I wasn't a Giants fan, this is still everything I love about sports, it was like a sports movie irl, the type of thing people would yell about being rigged if it happened today lol, and the crazy thing is that there was a sequel, I'm sure this only popped up because of the unlikely postseason run this year, I can't be too mad at the Giants' off years, I already saw them win two Super Bowls in my relatively short life, some people have lived a full one without seeing their team win, I'll know they'll get back to the top.

    Great video! You forgot to add one little caveat that made winning the super bowl that much more special. The patriots were caught cheating that off-season and were royally PISSED at the rest of the league and smacked everyone on their way to an undefeated season. The rest of the league rooted for the Giants because they didn’t want the NFL’s Evil Cheating Empire to go undefeated. Patriots fans would’ve had bragging rights the sports world would not be ready for. Greatest season ever!

    The miracle of 2007 is the Giants started bad weeks 1-15....but transformed into a DIFFERENT dominant team on Dec 29th 2007; on that night vs the Patriots they turned into the 2008 Giants; a 12-4 team that won the #1 seed. Except, the 07 postseason roster had Osi Omenyura AND Micheal Strahan, Osi was lost 2008 injury and Strahan retired.

    • @PulsingKrugotvoid
      @PulsingKrugotvoid Рік тому +2

      No. It's football. If your hot at the right time you can win. I mean even the super bowl you didn't walk away thinking new york was the better team. Your lying if you say you did. Subpar may be a little harsh but if your comparing them to other playoff teams, in particular NE, they very much were sub par. But they were hot. And lucky. And won the whole dam thing.

    • @andreifill6489
      @andreifill6489 Рік тому +5

      @loganb8789 after watching the first time they played, game 16, that season, and the Superbowl, NY was the better team at that point. You call it getting hot. As someone who coaches, all the way from youth to Junior College sports, I call it improving as the season went on. NY got better. Started doing the little things better. NE wasn't as efficient as they were earlier in the season and had several scares toward the end of the season. Like against the Ravens, the Colts, the Eagles, and even the Giants. The Pats never got better and many teams caught up with them. They weren't dominant at the end of the season. The teams they whipped up on the last 6 weeks weren't playoff teams,, except the Steelers. All the playoff teams, they won the game by 3 or less.
      If we compare that to the 85 Bears. Except for Miami being hot in week 13 and beating them, they had no game decided that close, all season long. I believe the closest was 6 points, once. The rest by a TD and an extra point or more.
      I'm not saying that Pats team wasn't great, but they aren't as dominant as their record showed.

    And it just...kept...going.

To me, it's awin-winn if a New York team wins. But I remember watching this run. Simply amazing with drama and suspense. I think I was 16 or 17 and that second to last play. I thought it was over Eil was sacked or the refs will blow the Whistle. But the throw, the catch on the helmet and then win. I didn't cheer and shout. But I was definitely happy they won and the Pat's lost.

    Man that game was crazy. Don’t forget how good that giants defense played, Osi, Tuck and Strahan pressured Brady the whole game and spags called some creative blitzes in key moments that the giants executed. Brady got sacked a bunch and even if he got the ball out he was still taking hits. The giants don’t win this game unless the pass rush got to TB and threw his timing off. They definitely executed, even on the Pats last possession going for a Hail Mary, Jay Alford rushed up the middle and sacked TB for a huge loss.

    Credit where credit’s due; the 07 Giants did what no other team could and Eli deserves to be in the Hall of Fame just by making the 07 Patriots the only 18-1 team to not win the Super Bowl BUT the Patriots weren’t quite the same team after “Super Bowl 41.5”. The juggernaut of the first half of the season was almost figured out by the Colts, Eagles AND Ravens to start the second half and the massive blowouts where they scored 30-40 points a game turned into much closer affairs while putting up only 20-30. Yes, the 2007 New York Giants were a Cinderella run for the ages but, at least in regards to cracking the code to the Patriots, they owe a lot to the teams that gave them the blueprints. Again, massive props for even getting themselves to that position in the first place AND being the only team to be able to successfully exploit the weaknesses exposed by the affirm aforementioned teams but those teams shouldn’t be disregarded completely.

    This surpasses the Jets win in SB-3. There was only a 2 game difference between the Colts (13-1) and Jets (11-3). The media was so completely biased for the Colts because they were the NFL. Being from the AFL the Jets had no prior matchup against the Colts or common opponents to compare against. They just said NFL better and made them an 18 point favorite. In 2007 everything was apples to apples when comparing. But one thing NOBODY mentioned, the Patriots looked really flat and unimpressive in both their postseason games prior. A 21-12 win over the Chargers without Tomlinson and a very hobbled Rivers at QB should have been a warning while the Giants continued to achieve the the big upsets in Dallas and Green Bay.
