I discovered The Knife 16 years ago. Listening to it in my walkman. I realise now how this music has opened something in my mind, something creative and complex. I feel lucky to have lived at the same time as The Knife.
@@Feuerbach1agree, I get the appeal but the front half of the album really isn't for me. The second half, however, is incredible- everything from Annie's Box on.
I'm so in love with this piece. I've loved it for over a decade. It was a balm to me when my mom died. And yet to this day i haven't found somebody to just sit and listen. I may just have to marry the first lady I meet who even knows it.
My God..I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve listened to this piece of magical genius and it always helps me to deal with the madness that our planet has become...
There were several times that lasted weeks where I had to listen to this song every night, it wouldnt leave my mind. I craved those moments when a singer starts, or the animal references, or the fact that it goes on for 11 mins! (Actually the song seemed to get shorter every time I listened to it).
This is one of those tracks that always takes me by surprise, even years later. 00:01 - "Ahh yeah, perfect groove." 02:15 - "Oh shit, what's this plucking at my heartstrings?" 03:11 - "Damn, Karin's so cool o___o" 06:47 - Bursting into tears for some reason?????? God I love this band.
This song is one of my top 5 favorites of all-time, it fills me with melancholy because my dad was a tortured genius with an unfortunate distance who constantly stumbled upon moral crises.
When I heard this for the first time, I didn't even listen the whole song, it felt so creepy. Then I came back and realized it's actually one of the dopest songs I've heard. That weird sound in the background is oddly comforting, I could listen to this while watching the world fall apart and still feel just fine.
Dear Karen and Olof, I know how important it is in your beliefs to reject idols, and I agree, and love you for that. You are true artists. Always remember though, that we deeply deeply love you, and everything you do and stand for helps us be better people, there's something to be said for that and to give credit where credit is due. I was lucky enough to see you in San Francisco the last time that you came through. I bought tickets for both nights, and you ALL crushed it! Thank you for being the smart beautiful artists that you are... And thank you for the awesome music! Love, MH
@@jcoverpass, it's: "lemming-comment," fixed it for ya! You meant to use a hyphen in order to compound your adjective into a noun form, thus calling me a lemming. At the end of the book of Job, after chapters and chapters of suffering and doubt, God appears in a maelstrom, in a vortex, and shows Job the terror and enormity of creation from the deepest oceans to the desert's heart. After Darwin's daughter dies and the remains of her life is shut in a box, we see the whole of the natural world: tied by strings of instinct and natural selection, birds and beasts and humans - everything in flames. This song is awe inspiring.
I listen to this track about twice a month, every month of the last two years. I love every second of it. There is noone on earth that has ever made music like The Knife and or Karin and Olaf. I will say thought that it seems that most people that hear me listening to them, just don't get it for some reason. Their problem not mine : )
this song embraces so much life and love that you wanna hold it tight and never let it go and in the same time death looks pretty option too, like you are sure that these voices and sounds will follow you wherever, whenever, whoever you are..

Esta canción me ha maravillado desde que la escuché hace más de 10 años. Luego perdí mis archivos y se fue con ellos. No podía recordar su nombre hasta hoy!! Años después 🥹 me encanta como el primer día!!
We used to call the sisters of mercy that wore black and white pigeons. Priests and nuns should not be celebate. If they wish not to. My favourite line in the song is under over though. The mountains of borneo. And the fist smile that Henry took. Oh the singing. THE SONG IS LOVE
Holy wow this incredible, what an amazing piece of music. Lots of variety and straight forward focus in it, it's something that would be great for some types of gaming or driving at night. Certain parts drag on a bit too long near the end, and the opera woman part wasn't so great, but overall it is a definite thing to add to favorite songs! SO replayable of a song, great! Like Ameno.
I didn't like the album Tomorrow in a Year when I first listened , strident , confusing noise I though but then it grew on me and now I love it and this is a highlight .
First time I heard this I had just been getting to back to my feet after being attacked by a maniac wearing an Adidas track suit with Puma trainers and a cream coloured Ellesse sweatshirt. He also had a shifty gait. Probably couldn't grow a beard either. I'd been to a birthday party at MaccyD's, when I remarked the Happy Meal toy was below par, the RM suit guy smashed a McChicken across my face, sending me to the floor. Hard. I'd just collected my senses when he hit me repeatedly with a barrage of solid blows from a Nokia 7110 -knocking out my two teeth front teeth, busting my lip wide open, and leaving me with a black eye. AND, not to mention, my cheekbones, that were the size of Sophie Ellis-Bextor's after getting thoroughly duffed up. When I came round in the hospital, this song was playing on a Cyrus CDi (2013) in the corner. And my girlfriend said, with a concerned look on her face: "shall we get married then or what??". I of course said "Yes, I'd love to. Thanks a lot (babe)". Never looked back since then*. I love her with all my heart and think about that bittersweet moment, at death's door. I am now 64 and have been happily married for 49 years but I Iost her to heart disease 3 years ago this fall. Every time I hear this song, I remember her and how blessed I was. Miss ya darlin! lobe you so much xxx. *she did give my best mate Tarlteon a blozza just down the road from the kebab shop, ''Yabba-Kebab-A-Do'', but that was after we'd had an argument outside Wetherspoons tbf. The cadence of Swedes singing in English I find so beautiful, they just bring a subtle coldness to the words... The way Karin sings luminous
